Yea, my Dreams of 2022/3. grin grin

By then, all the Biggies of HBOMax must have arrived in full force.... I don't need to think hard about the Streamer I'll adopt. It's got the biggest and most important Franchises to ME. tongue tongue

House of The Dragon
The Last Of Us
Justice League Dark
Green Lantern Corps
Lovecraft Country

I ain't joking with these franchises. The one's from Netflix and chill looks weak as_s in comparison to these. grin
The Witcher and Last Airbender ain't enough. grin

HBO max is not gaining subscribers as initially projected. Right now, the AT&T owned streaming service is outside of the top 10 list of world notable streaming services.

Lmao. How many HBO max series or movies have you watched?
I'm banking on the Big upcoming series/franchises I'm getting in due time. tongue
For now Netflix has the edge, which I see eroding in the next 2/3 years. When everyone starts fully pulling out their IP you'll know what's up. eg Friends, The Office, The Big Bang Theory and the likes.
They got the most important Franchises to ME presently:-
House of The Dragon
The Last Of Us
Justice League Dark
Green Lantern Corps

Netflix has only:
The Sandman
The Witcher
Avatar: The Last Airbender
They don't come close to the massive pull power or excitement in comparison to HBO's. Except Only The Sandman I'm most anticipated for, cos it's my favourite Comic. grin
Netflix is cheaper and has more money to watching hour value
More Quality over Quantity. tongue cool

Disney+ is the fastest growing subscription streaming service right now, but Netflix Netflix remains the world's largest subscription streaming service.

Both of you should know that 2 years is a long time..

Also Netflix could sign deals with other movie production houses and get new IP.

See cobra kai for instance.

Disney+ looks poised to overtake Netflix in 2/3 years.
Netflix just announced they are releasing an original movie each week for the next 12 months so they are investing serious money but they keep increasing their sub prices, Disney+ on the other hand launched as a premium service and they have quite a number of originals planned for the next five year plus they have a large catalogue spanning more than 40 years, so these two are going to be the "Giants" going forward... Don't even think HBO Max have enough originals to match these two, expect movies exclusively release to them once in a while by Warner Bros... their mate is Appletv for now i think.

Bros no dey Blaspheme. shocked How will you rate HBOMAX with Apple TV+?? Lol, so you mean to tell me WB don't have a catalogue of movies/series dating back 80+yrs??

Incase y'all don't know HBOMax arguably has the richest list of content amongst the Streamers..It's got the best blend of everything. closely followed by Disney+. Netflix can't hold a candle amongst these two in terms of Quality of Content. Lol, HBO's unique power Ain't about churning out Quantities of content but it's Quality. Asides that HBOMax is ramping up its Max Originals production rate nonetheless.
That's the main reason WB has the balls to price HBOMax far higher than the rest even tho it's new.

HBOMax is not with any of their Major or big Titles at present but things is looking promising since December.

Two years is a long time indeed, but Disney+ has number of things going for it.

(i)The PG-13 trap: PG-13 is mainstream. Increasing the potential size of the audience increases the potential profit.

(ii) The Peter Pan syndrome: PG-13 allows the Disney to execute a marketing strategy called the Peter Pan Syndrome.

(iii) Huge movie, TV series, animations catalogue.

Disney+ will hurt Netflix for sure. To remain competitive, Netflix should refocus on original content under its own umbrella and make more R-rated content.

Also almost applicable to HBOMax except the PG-13 animations appeal.

lol me comparing it to Appletv cuz Netflix and Disney+ are above for now.. Netflix have a worldwide tentacles now, popping up everywhere, e.g i entered Netflix Turkey one day and i was impressed, HBO Max doesn't have this reach yet.

For a large catalogue, Disney+ will still outpace HBO Max cuz if you do a poll on which originals from yester years between these two people want to see, i am 90% sure people will choose Disney+. Netflix obviously can't be in this talk cuz it doesn't have a big entertainment brand spanning many number of years backing it.

The originals HBO max has been pushing out since it's lunch have been below par bar "Raised by the Wolves", that's why they quickly buy rights to shows made by smaller production companies.
I stand to be corrected "The Mandalorian" topples any original HBO Max has to offer since it's lunch.

in United states, and "Wonder Woman 84" been top of "SVOD" proves my point. Warner Bros releasing their Big buck movies exclusively on HBO max to push it's agenda...go to reddit...most people copped HBO Max in December to see #WW84.

You're saying in the US....IS HBOMax released worldwide?? It's only available in US, so that's the stats we can compare since everyone are equal there.

Never forget HBOMAX hasn't even launched a single Major Project solely from them.

Netflix still has its Biggies : The Office, Friends etc and they're about to be yanked off. grin
Disney+ just premiered one of its biggest IPs in The Mandalorian. HBOMax is absent in the game with Biggie launch's. You get me.

It's because of this lack of "New Big Titles" that's why WB considered the WB Theater release slate for HBOMax simultaneous launch. By next 2yrs, year end 2022 HBOMax must have released a some of its Biggest IP, same as the others...that's when the real stats become more relevant.

You aren't getting it. Those numbers are specifically for the US alone, their number one Target market. So the argument of being worldwide or not is invalid cos this stats is focused for only one region which they all play in.

Even Netflix you're banding will suffer hard from Disney+ getting more territories worldwide. Not to talk of HBOMax premiering Globally. grin

Lol, you are comparing one of Disney+ biggest IP with small Titles from HBOMax... HBOMax has been slow in releasing its biggest Guns of IP yet..but it still performing with the rest in the US (the only territory it's available in).

Lovecraft Country is way better than any shite The Mandalorian can churn out....
Mandalorian is average at best to me(haven't watched season 2 tho). It excels best in its visuals and maybe shooting scenes, asides that na epic beans. I can't even compare it with last year's Watchmen.

Why Mandalorian is getting all the attention, hype and praise now is cos of its affiliation with the Star Wars franchise.
Lemme wait till 2022 when HBOMax major title House Of The Dragon Premieres, I'll see if you'll still be hearing much noise for Mandalorian.

It's looking very good now cos there's no Big Major Franchise of similar stature competing with it at present. I'll wait till when LOTR series Premieres later this year then we'll come back to this discourse.
