In order to realize the magnitude of the counter insurgency operation in terms of area, I decided to compare the land mass of some local governments in Borno state with that of some state.
Figures in km²
Lagos state - 3,577

Marte LGA - 3,280
Mobbar LGA - 3,280
Biu - 3,423
Abadam- 4,172
Magumeri - 5,057
Kukawa - 5,124
Bama - 5,158
Konduga - 6,065
Damboa - 6,426

There are several other local governments in Borno state with landmass greater than 2000km²
Imagine the immense size of the campaign map!

Note: All figures were gotten from Wikipedia, if you have a trusted data, you can bring it here and we can compare.

: The DHQ today said MARTE military base wasn’t taken over by insurgents yesterday, further said the troops deliberately implemented a strategy that tricked the insurgents into a false sense of early successes, that they adopted a tactical withdrawal that later paid off.

Irrespective what your opinion may be.

One of the first casualties of war on both sides is simply the TRUTH.

For that reason for me the only authentic and pure source of information is from SamuelAnyawu.

Everything else is tainted with different agendas.

But using your sentiment we don't need them we are currently blasting Boko Haram left right and center. They are on the retreat. We are slaughtering them, etc, etc

Our battle HARDENED combatants are winning.

Why them do we need the assistance of Cameroon ❓ After all we have overcome Boko and they can't do much.

I am using the substance of your narrative.

undecided I'm not understanding you.
My Narrative!?
We need Assistance from Our Neighbors (MNJTF) especially if we're going to take control of Lake chad Area...
Secondly Terrorists are likely to Run to Border villages so we'll need a Blocking Force.
Yes we're BLASTING terrorists Left Right and center Evidently...
And our HARDENED Troops are dealing with them.
In other for these to be sustained countries affected by this insurgency will have to contribute one way or the other.
Cameroonian has Been helpful in terms of ISR, Chadians in Troops deployment,

This is somebody that says he understands coin..
In counter insurgency, u need very hand u can get... Go tell US why they allow other NATO member to join their campaign if they were wining.
The truth is every player in coin even the least trained ones have a critical part to play... I hope u are not starting to think the Cameroonians were the ones that flushed BH out of marte. You wish they claiming credit, so u can go on ur usual attack on N.A lacks of "professionalism"

How I wish we could get our remaining Mi-35m for this operations or we could get a partner nation to give us attack helicopters to aid our response time.
Kudos to our Armed Forces , despite all this we will overcome!

It unbelievable some are starting to think N.A had nothing to do with it.. Funny thing iis they (Chad and Cameroon) weren't present on the battlefield... Othereise that would have been the story.

I doubt you know what a Main Battle Tank is.

Cameroun has none.

So how are you sighting Cameroun army MBT that does not exist?

Clear this confusion for me.

I couldn't take pictures in brigade. Tho I'm not too much of an expertise in Tanks. But I assume any vehicle using a chain wheel is an MBT.

Most of them were towed on trucks with the trucks write up in french " something Du Chad Basin" MNJTF.

I am perplexed beyond reason with the preoccupation with "gun trucks" in our discourse.

A gun truck is in most cases a rickety pick up trucks mounted with a heavy machine gun , without stabilisation and or optic sights.

It is not a IFV, MBT, LAV, MRAP, and or APC.

A single shot from a M107 50.Cal. (or similar) into the engine block of one those soft skinned pick ups. Will make it completely immobile and easy target.

This is where I get completely BAMBOOZLED how can a military base with HARDENED combatants with MBT's and other armoured fighting vehicles. Be overtaken by group of rag tag untrained deranged Jihadists in 15, 20 and or more gun trucks.

One Vickers MBT should very easily take out 15 gun trucks in a matter of 15/20 minutes, with a well trained tank crew.

This is what a Tank looks like, Chad has none, neither does Cameroun.

That's a Nigerian army VT4 MBT

One question ❓ What will you call a Brigade or Army base that gets attacked in the night by insurgents and are taken by suprise

You are in a highly contested war zone, you expect to be attacked it should never be a SUPRISE !!! You will have a number of pre planned contingency responses.

You really should have at least 5 km situational awareness of your area 24/7/365. Unless you have conceded your immediate environ to the enemy and therefore you lack control.

We have a different expectations, your perspective will be a product of your environment and experiential and formalised knowledge.

What you call PROFESSIONALISM is very different from my own understanding.

bro first of all The base wasn't over run.
Secondly It's unclear whether there was any MBT there
According to SamuelAnyawu they're not even up to a brigade...
Why are you bringing to play what didn't happen?

AGAIN TROOPS NEUTRALISE BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS IN MARTE AXIS, DESTROY 7 GUN TRUCKS, RECOVER ARMS

Troops of Operation TURA TAKAIBANGO in conjunction with the Air Task Force Operation LAFIYA DOLE have effectively destroyed 7 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists' gun trucks and decimated several unconfirmed number of the terrorists when they attempted to attack their location at the outskirts of Marte in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.

The gallant troops, based on reliable information about the attack, had positioned themselves in an ambush site where they tactically withdrew to, and awaited the arrival of the terrorists before they opened fire which led to fierce battle that resulted in the successes recorded as indicated above.

The troops are still engaged in pursuit of the fleeing terrorists for further exploitation. Further details of interest to members of the public will be communicated later.

Cameroon has Tank Destroyers
For Nigeria to destroy BH Cameroon, Niger and Chad have to play an active and decisive role.
That means each Country has to understand
What Nigeria is doing in the Timbuktu Islands.
Each Country has the agreed upon level of pursuit into each other’s Country.
Nigeria has Landing Rights for both Fixed and Rotary Aircrafts in Niger.
Last week the F.M. Of Chad was in Nigeria expect more battles, more troops.

Yeaaaa bro I have never seen such number of Cameroon Soldiers here like I saw today. Initially when I was entering the Brigade I thought they were Immigration officers on Kaki until I noticed the ranking on their shoulders were in Green colour.

I greeted in English self cheesy grin It was later I noticed many were speaking french and some a kind of funny English between Nigeria Soldiers.

Infact today Military blocked movement from my location towards Sambisa areas and Cameroon border areas.

Like the Colonel said in Church today " They know we are coming, but we are Coming for them" He called it the Final Onslaught we should all keep them in Prayers.
