hope4brym: The reason on the GCMS note doesn't make any sense to me. It is just too subjective.
What is your intended program of study versus your background?
I studied Electrical Engineering and my masters is in agriculture but under the dept of Engineering. My research group is Applied Intelligent Engineering Systems Research Group in the Faculty of Agriculture. |

Hi, I see you're starting at Lambton. Which of the campuses? And are you attending classes from Nigeria or in Canada? Omanda: You have to pay a prepayment tuition fees of the first semester. I also have admission with them but it for January intake and I will be starting online classes by January 18th. Just know that if you accept the admission then you can't defer your intake to another intake because it is not allowed at Lambton. I just pray I get decision before January 18th. It will end in PRAISE!!!!!!! quote author=Lilwandy post=97849322]Good afternoon, please I just got an offer letter from lambton at Canada. So I'm processing for two brothers since NSE inception, and something interesting happened, which I'll share to give you great people an insight.
Visa Application timeline for brother number one: Submission: 5th October 2020 Biometrics: 6th October 2020 NSE request letter: 19th November 2020 Submitted NSE requirements: 17th December 2020
Now the interesting gist is,we submitted their father's six months First Bank statement of account of ₦15m for two of them before NSE request letter came. Since First Bank isn't on the Mybankstatement platform, I recommended their father move ₦10m to his dormant Access bank account, whose institution is on the Mybankstatement platform. He did that, then generated the Mybankstatement certificate. I drafted and attached a letter of explanation for what we did,why we did it, pleading that the transaction history on the First Bank account statement be considered, signed by their father. We submitted everything, with the IELTS certificate, with 6.5 band in each category. Medical exam request: 16th January 2021
I'll let you guys know how brother number two''s own goes.
It'll end in praise! 12 Likes |

I can see the link between electrical and agriculture, but with the limited information you've provided it may be difficult for the VO to see the relationship outsider of the SOP. I wonder if your work experience is related to your program of study. We'll need other forum members to analyse this situation and provide perspective. kelvine95:

Anyway, I explained all this. And I don't think the VO has an issue with my masters in Agriculture, as this would have been documented. He/She is mostly concerned about funding and my family ties in my country of residence. My masters is I dept of engineering, my research is applied Engineering and computer science to agriculture. My experience is in Machine Learning and Data Science, my degree has automation, and digital communications, which I clearly stated in my letter of explanation. 1 Like |

My opinion - Apply for a Judicial Review kelvine95: I was denied Visa for;
1. I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence. 2. I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.
And I got my gcms notes just now. Please note that I got a funding of 26,100 cad per year for 2 years. My tuition is 18,300 cad for first year and around 12,000 cad for 2nd year. I totally understand the comments from the visa officer aside for the *unreasonable cost*, since my tuition us fully covered, why is that still a problem?
I also noticed that the VO probably did not read my application correctly, since I applied to Dalhousie University and not University of Regina.

Good evening great minds,
Having followed this thread for some time now, I want to say a big thank you to all those who make out time to respond to queries here. God bless you all.
please guys, your advice will really go a long way here, I already applied for my M.A program which begins in September and my sister's husband is supposed to be my sponsor, but since we don't have same family name, we are considering moving funds into my sis account to balance the 30k CAD NSE requirement. This will mean having to wait till July before Visa application. My fear is that, the time frame will be too short to process considering my program start date. Please all the gurus and experts in the house help a brother. Should I ask them to move the funds or use him and then attach maybe their marriage cert.? again, is it advisable to wait till July before visa application for a September start date? Help a brother please cos local man is confused. |

Hi, I had to show a proof of where I would be self isolating; a short lease or private airbnb accomodation should be adequate. The POE officer will almost certainly as about where you would be staying especially now that they require a -ve PCR test result in addition. If you are going to be staying with friends or family, you need to be careful saying so because the POE officers will want to know if there are vulnerable group (kids and the elderly) in the place. Ire oh! It shall end in praise. lentomac:

She should email her school (if she hasn't already) to make enquiries about that. When I did, my school provided me with 3 different options (including a plan if I decided to Quarantine outside the school). I feel it's safer if her school is aware of her quarantine plans too. Hello @Frankrobbn1 Please help answer this Also will I require my transcripts to apply for my study visa from my post secondary schools? Thank you. Esmeob: Hello house, I have a conditional acceptance letter to study at a university in canada. Can I apply for my study permit with this letter in Nigeria or will it reduce my chances of getting approved? The condition is that I send my official documents which my previous post secondary school is still processing.
Also, is it possible to apply for the NSE from the start of the application process? |

Please, can I mail you? Jason2moh: I'm studying in Toronto. I found a place where I paid 700 CAD for 16 nights. I had a private bathroom but a shared kitchen. You'd have to wear a mask to use any shared spaces, like the kitchen or garden area, or when picking up food order. In the same accommodation, you can also book a room with shared bathroom, which is allowed. But going to and from your room, you'd have to mask up.

Congratulations to you Shaman. Your resilience is quite commendable. I saw you studied Geology. What area were you working, what course and school are you pursuing for this PG studies? Will indeed appreciate your kind response. TheShaman: Hello All, I have been a silent reader of this thread for months now; reading and learning from everyone here. It would be amiss if I don’t share my timeline with the house now that the journey has come to fruition:
First Application Timeline Application: Sept 1, 2020 Refusal: Sept 15, 2020 Biometrics: Sept 16, 2020 Refusal Reason: Purpose of Visit and Personal Finances/Assets
After the refusal, I decided against ordering my GCMS notes because I felt that I could recognize where I made mistakes and where I could improve upon them. I read GCMS notes of profiles similar to mine and learned from there and proceeded to craft my next application within 15 days. I also chose to continue with my online studies as I had already started on Sept 8th, 2020.
Second Application Timeline Application Date: Oct 1, 2020 NSE Request: Nov 18, 2020 NSE Requirements Submission: Dec 15, 2020 Medical Request (MER): Dec 15, 2020 Medicals: Dec 29, 2020, at IOM Ikeja MER Passed: Jan 3, 2021 BVL and PPR: Jan 5, 2021 (Final Decision updated to Approved also)
For the NSE, I felt I would not adequately prepare for the IELTS to the best of my ability and chose to only submit the myBankcertificate instead. I planned to write the IELTS Exams in January 2021 and send the results via webform. I only submitted the myBank certificates just as @Popoolam did.
Application Documents: 1. All IMM Forms 2. Conditional LOA and subsequent confirmation mails by the school that I had met the requirements. 3. Letter of Explanation for my application detailing all I had done to address the refusal reasons from the previous application. 4. SOP of 7 Pages with different subheadings. My SOP had a well-detailed study plan showing how my BSc in Geology and work experience had prepared me for the course and Its potential benefits to me personally and Nigeria. I devoted other sections to why I chose the school, the city, and the province, and finally Canada. A section was devoted to Home ties which were majorly social and family ties and a section was devoted to explaining my study gap (I graduated in 2017). 5. All Academic Credentials (BSc Certificate and Transcript, WAEC Result, and a certification from the Technical University of Denmark relating to my proposed MSc course). 6. NYSC Discharge Certificate 7. Internship Contract and Full-Time Employment Contract for my current place of employment 8. Confirmation of Employment Letter from the office. 9. Birth Certificates of my mother and brother 10. Police Character Certificate 11. Resume/CV with a section devoted to my academic publications. 12. Letter of Support from my Research Supervisor to the Graduate Admissions Committee of the University recommending my admission (this also included a paragraph stating how my current job has prepared me for the course). 13. Family tree showing the relationship between my sponsor and I (he is the younger brother of my mother) along with family photos with both of us. 14. Evidence of financial support from my sponsor over the last 7 years (all bank credit alerts via email). 15. Pension Statement, Enrollment Letter and a funding letter I received mid-semester were submitted via web forms after I had submitted my application.
Financials 1. Letter of Financial Support from my Sponsor (my uncle) with 3 pages detailing why he was supporting my education. 2. Affidavit of Sponsorship 3. Data page of his passport 4. Tuition Payment Receipt from the school and Western Union ($3556 CAD) 5. Two Personal SOA with 4M and 6M as their balance, and one SOA of a company account (along with a bank reference/sole signatory letter) with a balance of 25M (all from my sponsor, I did not submit my own SOA or any payslip). 6. Company Documents (CAC Certificates and TCC).
NSE Documents: 1. Two myBank certificates of two company accounts 2. Bank Reference Letters for the two accounts. 3. Company Documents 4. Contract Award Letters from 2019 and 2020
Personal Profile: Male, 24 years this year, a graduate of Geology (4.0/5.00 GPA from the University of Benin).
I encourage everyone to do as much research as they can and read the previous threads as every information I used for my second application was found here. Please also pray and have faith. I sent only one of the NSE requirements while I saw others dash to write the IELTS exams with the faith that it would work out for my good. I thank all the gurus in the house for their wise words – I learned from every post on this thread and previous ones.
Praise be to God Almighty. As the common saying here goes, delay is not denial. I wish you all the best.

olasubomy:
Good evening,
Please for those who has paid tuition fees from a Nigerian bank in favour of schools in Canada, i need clarification on how you went about it.
I just initiated payment of tuition fees with my bank and also filled the Form A along with transfer instruction form which was filled in favour of the school but payment to be wired to CIBC which is the bank my school advised.
My bank keeps telling me they are awaiting clearance from CBN on dollar payment so as we speak, my account is yet to be debited.
Please is there any other way this can be done as i do not have a dollar account because i have not noticed anyone complain on challenges on payment of tuition fees.
Hi ola, I experienced same issue too. You will have to be very patient, they will eventually debit you. Mine took like forever, CBN needs to give them clearance even when they debited me for them to remit to the CIBC, took a while, I disturbed my account officer tire so be patient. The only thing is the money would arrive late to the CIBC. Form A is cheaper but it's not easy at all especially nowadays. You can keep contacting them, let them know you'd travel soon and you need the receipt that's what I did. All the best 3 Likes |

Sorry about the refusal You were denied for two reason, One is insufficient fund and the other home ties. On insufficient fund there was lump sum in the bank statement you submitted and VOs usually view this that the money will not be available for your studies. On home ties since you are singe, a good job will serve as home ties that is why the VO said you are also not economically established. Nothing to bring you back, no family no good job. However, if you just graduated, a good career prospect after your program and explanation about the lump sum, may be a gift deed should suffice. Also for your first year you will need more than C$ 4,000 in addition to the funding because funding minus tuition is a little less that C$6,000 and it is good to have about C$ 4,000 for other expenses apart from C$10,000 for living expenses 4 Likes |
