Entrepreneurs get levels based on perspective of intent.

Someone might aim to provide a service or bunch of services, pay tax, and have a profit. That profit after the capital and operating cost are factored in, is the result number of gain or loss.

Before now, I been dey call entrepreneurs bosses. From Akara seller, suya seller, computer village sellers, shop seller, generator repair person, vulcanizer, mechanic, all the way to cell phone owners, freelancers, magazine owners, etc. All na entrepreneurs or business people.

Like Rick Ross say, "a boss is the one that guarantee we gonn eat". To me a boss in business is the organizer of a project in action. If you hire somebody to bring their skill and come help you, while you pay them and manage their skills and time, during the timeline both of you agreed, then you are a boss. Like in building a structure, the boss there is the contractor. The owner of the building is the investor to the contractor. A boss is suppose to know about the business and not just be an investor who don't really need to know about the project but the result of the project. An investor is also an entrepreneur. Facebook and others had investors but those investors are not operating the business. Am not talking of manager, who is the organizer of a task or more. In building a structure, the mason have their own manager, the electricians have their own manager, who the contractor should be supervising in an organized project.
my brother why are you giving yourself head-ache. The simple defination is if you own your time then you are an entrepreneur

Very on point. I have a friend who opened a business, after months of no result, she became vulnerable and started losing it. But I told her the business will survive the test of time if she will become patient. We're still here ticking the time till it becomes her dream come through.

Insightful!!

This post is timely. Failure is one thing an entrepreneur most become accustomed with. Failure is a better teacher than success.
I have failed severally and may continue to fail. However, I am determined to make the most of myself. I have come too far in life to give up!
Nigeria seem to be one of the worst countries to become an entrepreneur. The whole system is orchestrated to frustrate you. Gosh!

This write up explicitly captures the travails of an entrepreneur.

That business idea you've got why not give it a try this year and see how it blossoms.

Becoming an entrepreneur is worthwhile...more especially in this Period of Job scarcity.

Please expanciate on the bolded.

A man might be failing in life until he goes to do rituals, during the process the priest tells him the rules to keep for the ritual to be effective. As long as he lives in those rules he will begin to prosper. He doesn't have to work harder or to change business, from the one he's already doing he grows and multiplies to the amazement of others. This is to tell you there is a spiritual dimension to life, there are forces that controls things- negative and positive forces. God is the origin of all powers, just as devil demands sacrifice from you, rules and regulations for you to keep for him to prosper you so does God. The problem most people have when they relate with God is to take him casual, never keeping to his rules on prosperity. God is a deity, failure to keep to the rules brings about failure in business success. Some of the rules are:

1) God will be sorted and he has to approve the business. It will have to be a godly business started with Clean money if you want God to back it

2) you will have to enter covenant with God on your money. What you must give him as long as the business lives, without it he'd not have a legal ground to withstand forces on your behalf. 10percent of your profit at least with absolute consistency else you spoil the charm. The money you shouldn't give it casually but with the heart that your giving your sacrifice to a deity. Also you must not eat alone, a certain portion of your money will have to benefit others

3) you must never confess negatively or say anything bad concerning your business. Even when others are complaining you must not, even when you feel your not making progress you must not be tempted to say negatively rather you must declare your increase as often as you can

4) the last but the most important is... there's a spirit that brings money. That is, there's a spirit that possesses you and you can never go broke ever in life. In God, the spirit that brings money is living under divine influence- the presence of God. I don't want to go into details but there is a relationship between staying in the presence of God and money. The longer you can stay and ascend the more your quality of life improves not just money. Now if you don't have this presence you will have to find an anointed man that you must pay homage at intervals for him to declare the blessings of God over you as long as you remain in business.

Life is all about laws and effect, do these and no devil will ever have a legal ground to stop you. What I'm saying to you is not head knowledge but an experience

Yes, diversify and concentrate more on what you have passion for. Those making money from forex don't have the time to begin to convince you to learn forexx. If you wan learn forex, figure out a strategy for yourself, make sure you do demo for at least one yr before you invest your real money. Dont ever invest more than 200$...the secret is 200$ goes for 0.01 lot and if you cannot grow 200$ to 2k$ then you are not getting it.

It is financially rewarding if you are trained by the right person.

Whatever you decide, I will advise you to do the following:

1. After you learn the terminologies, fundamentals, and technical analysis, you must trade a demo account with as small a capital as possible. $50 is recommended.

2. You must fund a real account with ONLY twenty thousand naira and trade it for 3 months. This is after you have paper traded the demo account.

3. Brokerage firms are a big hurdle. In fact, many brokerage firms use tech (MT platforms) to defraud their customers. If your trade is going well, their trading platform would beat you by a requote system.

How to beat brokers in their game?

Do not use their MT platforms. Instead, opt for their webterminal.

There is a drawback to using the webterminal, which is limited assets. Indices, Gold, and Stocks are usually not available through Webterminals.

Feel free to ask me any questions. I am about to launch a training and support programme for Nigerians and then Africans.
I trade only indices ...

The only part they told us about entrepreneurship was that we would be our own bosses.

They never told us that we would fail many times before we succeed.
They never told us that we would work 5 times more than our employees and not get anything sometimes.

They never told us that this would cripple our credit score. That we will be in debt and owe a lot of people money.
No one said anything about the sleepless nights trying to figure out a way forward.
No one told us about the stress and anxiety.

No one told us that this will cause conflict between us and or relatives and family members.
No one told us that we would be jokes to the society especially when we start changing from one business to another.

No one told us that sometimes we will go six months or more without any income. Living in the edge and surviving through borrowing money from different people.

No one told us that our doors would be shut down due failure to pay staff, they can’t get to work.

No one told us we would be hobos at some point.
No one told us that our wife's /husbands /boyfriends and girlfriend's would leave us because they will not understand our journey.

No one told us that we will have to be more than patient.
That we would make so many mistakes end up losing a lot of money.
That at some point we would have to risk our lives in order to move forward.

We had to figure this out all by ourselves.
Many gave up on the journey.
Some died on the journey.

But some of us after going through so much pain we decided that we were going to succeed or die trying .
Some of us we are never giving up on this no matter what. We are now doing it and very aware of the circumstances.
It's win or nothing for us and it's too late to go back now.

We are entrepreneurs!!

Nice write-up op, very encouraging post! I must say this post is a motivation for me! I just had an experience which almost made me fall into depression.

I'm a student in my finals (500 level). Just recently, last year to be precise, i conceived a business idea during the lockdown, while i was still in the state where i school. I decided to set this business idea into motion in June when the lock down was about to be lifted, in fact because of the desire to start something, and put an end to idleness i travelled down to Lagos during the lockdown, fortunately the lockdown was lifted a few days later.

Immediately i got to Lagos , i started the business, mini importation to be precise - as little income could be used to set it up. I bought a few goods, things i knew would move in the market- phone accessories, water purifier, hair products and a few others. I took them to the organisation where i did my student industrial work experience scheme because of the relationship i have built, while i displayed them on my WhatsApp status at the same time.

Surprisingly, after several visit to this organisation and other places, couple with the advert i did on WhatsApp i sold virtually all the goods!!i was very happy, i made profit that made me decide to reinvest both the profit and the and capital in the business. Now, that's the darkest point in my business career!! How?

With that burning desire and passion derived from my first business experience, i decided to make another attempt! I listed out a number of goods i felt would move , i included some of the things I bought the first time and i ordered them immediately. A few days later, i was called that my goods have arrived and i went to the shipping company for pickup.

Now i observed the carton used in packaging my goods was a bit rough, and it appeared the sealing tape has been tampered with, but i immediately discarded that thought with the belief that such was normal since it wasn't just my package that was kept in the warehouse. Also i have not been given any reason to believe any foul play, at least judging from my first dealing with them.

Well to cut the long story short, by the time I got home to open the carton some of my goods were missing, these are things i couldn't have noticed their disappearance because they are not big in size , although they are quite expensive.

I called the agent who helped me procure the goods immediately, she was as surprise as i was, complaints were lodged to the shipping company and till date nothing positive has come out of it.

I was so discouraged, couple with the fact that the things I bought - clock Wallpaper, water purifier, earbud, women hand bag... Did not sell
As expected. People that earlier ordered for these items, which prompted the inclusion of the items in my list later said there was no cash when the goods arrived.

It is only when goods are selling in the market that one will be motivated to hawk, but after a long try and the result remains negative, one may be forced to quit.

I wouldn't say i have quit , but i was negatively affected by those experiences. Right now, feeding and some other expenses have eaten deep into the money I have, since there's no consistency. I'm only left with just a few of the goods, i have tried to sell them at least before returning to school, but we all know how things are outside there, there is no sale as such.

Yes my mistakes are..(1). I didn't plan the second business attempt very well, i miscalculated. (2) i allowed setback (missing goods) to discourage me- the goods i lost weakened my morale, it also weakened me financially. But what could I have done? i am a newcomer!!

If only I could sell the few items I have and get a little financial assistance, I will retrace my steps. life is indeed not easy for newbies entrepreneurs, especially those who lack financial Assistance.

1) never start a business without a proper knowledge of the business

2) Never start a business without adequate financial management skill

3) Never start a new business without the mindset to be frugal in your spending at least for the first one year

4) the last but the most important is never start a business without a spiritual backup else the elements might just frustrate you
