The CDC issued a report on the 17th, and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a report saying that Trump issued a ban on entry of Chinese tourists as early as February 2, but did not announce restrictions on entry to European countries until March 13. , But by March 8, this new coronavirus had already begun to spread in the New York City community. In addition, the report also revealed that the strains circulating in New York City have nothing to do with Wuhan, China. In response to the report, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo said that due to the government's response to the epidemic, the virus has spread to New York City, killing many Americans. |

There are 2 options. We shut down early to slow down the virus or the virus forcefully shut us down. 1 Like |

luvmijeje: What exactly did the first lockdown achieve? Nothing. If anything, it tripled the contraction rate. Lockdown in Nigeria is meaningless. You lockdown for few days, relax the lockdown for a day or two, tell people to go restock and head to banks to deposit and withdraw, the whole population get jam-packed in markets and banks and spread the virus even more. Then, you continue the lockdown, these people carry the virus and share for others in their neighbourhood during the continuation. Who lose? Stop clamouring for shutdown 3 Likes |

ityP: Follow my thought process. How did the Wuhan virus spread all part of the world? Air Transportation. How did it come to get Nigeria? Air Transportation. How did it spread to states that have no international airport or local airport? Road transportation. With the above points, do you still think lock down won't help? |

Many people having Covid19 symptoms dont report to hospitals or NCDC. They dont even get tested. The test costs 50k. They simply stay at home or at a private clinic and isolate till they get better hopefully. These numbers are way lower than what it is. |

ityP: I wish that I'm in the seat of power. This government that I'm seeing is afraid of the masses. They are afraid of the masses turning against them. What they don't understand is the fact that when people start dying like chicken they will still turn against you. We need leaders who ain't afraid of doing the right thing even at the expense of people hating you. |
Re: COVID-19 Update For January 18 2021 In Nigeria by ityP(m): 5:59am On Jan 19, 2021 |
luvmijeje: Follow my own thought process. Lockdown in Nigeria aids no one. We should have shutdown air transport and not bring in the virus in the first place. Now it's here with us, we can only live with it. Thankfully, the fatality rate of the virus is low. Lockdown will total crumble the economy, would lead to a tripling of contraction rate and would kill more people (hunger). You need to see how lockdown is in saner climes. People practically do not have to leave their homes. They can simply order for supplies. No one needs to go to the bank. Cashless policy exists over there. Not so In Naija. I surveyed the environment to see how people filled the streets during those days where the lockdown was relaxed to allow people restock. It was a funny sight. I stand by what I said, lockdown in Naija na formality 1 Like |
