MBBS students are Medical students, BDS students are Dental students, then we have physiotherapy students, Nursing students, pharmacy students: these are the official designations.. Everyone in the college of medical sciences is not a medical student.

I always advice students to know what each course in the medical field could fetch them. So they don't graduate and start fighting up and down.
The fight in the health sector is the fault all professionals in it.
JOHESU are correct in some aspect and failed in some other, same with NMA. But no one wants to admit their faults.

So we all, like the thread suggested are Medical students.
The reason why I asked is because; I wanted to be sure the guy you are exchanging words with is a Medical student or someone that is not in any medical course.

One of the Reason Bro but not the main one.
I want to be in a Neutral ground where I can do things my way. Some may call me a Wannabe Doc but I know of something certain, a Human Doc doesn't treat animals.
JOHESU wants same pay with Medical Doctors. JOHESU wants almost all the professions under them to bear the title "Doctor". NMA want to be bosses alone and unwilling to share certain managerial positions. NMA is against independence of some health professions.
It is bad for Patients when Health care providers strike. Medlab scientist will slap a Doc or the reverse. A Nurse will say him / her Knows better than a Doc. A Doc says all professions in Health should be "subservient" to him.
Radiographers beefing radiologist.
The system is all messed up and hate and bitterness is in the atmosphere.
NMA will say they've collected their Salaries from govt and JOHESU should get theirs. It is very similar to ASUU vs SSANU, NASU etc.
This attitude of "My own" never helped any country grow collectively. The system will not change. Whether you are Medical student (Dentistry and Medicine), Physiotherapy student,Nursing student, Optometry student, Medlab student, Radiography student, Prosthetics and Orthotics student, Dental technology student, Anatomy,physiology, Biochemistry student. The hate for each other profession will wax strong. Some will say "I don't hate them oo" there's nothing that can change. Your union caused it.

I have my reservations for those two unions sha..

I had a friend that was in MLS. He also had a friend in Medicine. They were very close until the Medicine guy started path-pharm. Every of his discussion was against other health professionals especially MLS.

it got to a stage that he said what they did in pathology was everything the guy in MLS would do for 5 years. They challenged and sincerely, the Medicine guy was knowledgeable but the MLS guy knew what we was reading.

At last, the MLS guy said something that struck me. He said; "Guy, you can only challenge me in Laboratory Medicine when you come back as a pathologist. For now, focus on becoming a Doctor first"

I have seen scenario like this. Where these lecturers poison the minds of their students.
I will tell you what I think about Health politics.

I did not run after medicine tho, I've always hated it cos everyone wanted to do it and it was boring and annoying that way plus I hate anything clinical. Laboratory and experiments is my thing. It's very stupid to think everyone wants medicine. Very shallow thought.

Bros nothing like medicine student, we only have medical students when discribing someone studying medicine. In reality it's only those studying medicine are called medical students, it just that we feel if someone is call medical student then he/she superior to others. That's why we have different bodies like medical and dental Council, Nursing council, medical laboratory council etc. Someone studying nursing is a nursing student not medical student just like med lab and others though it doesn't make you interior to medical students.

That's how ur senior goats said setting IV lines is only for doctors. In 21st century, setting IV lines is what Nigerian doctors glorify. Yet they want Nigeria to be at par with developed nations. In advanced countries IV line setting or catheterization is not even what nurses want to be bothered with, they dey delegate it cos there are more and more advanced procedures to be occupied with. The doctors there have lots on their hands, they are really busy with correct procedures . But our almighty Nigerian doctor with nothing to do hoard taking of delivery, Iv line setting and passing catheter. Things any correct 300l nursing student would do in seconds. What a shame!
No wonder they all struggle with USMLE and PLAB and end up looking for nurses to marry so they could japa.
Don't go and plan your life and look for how to save ur family from this zoo of a country, keep on with the inferiority complex masked under superiority complex. Body go tell you. Better ask your seniors questions.
