Hello Nairalanders, sorry for asking this questions. It looks like the world we are now appreciate a fast approach to things especially whatever can put food on the table. If you should consider how counselling and mentorship is done in our schools nowadays, it keep one wonder how tomorrow will be. We have been fed time without number with the usual parlance that youths are the leaders of tomorrow. Do we have youths who are built for the future task in our generation? A motivational speaker said in one of a session I attended that why we lack such deep thinkers and doers in this age is because only few are readers. And there can be great leaders without good readers. I am bent to ask, are readers still leaders in today's world?

As long as "reading" equals knowledge: yes, readers are leaders. To lead a herd of humans, you'll require a level of knowledge the herd lacks; You'll realize this after studying the early life of leaders. 1 Like |

No! The new way to say it is "LEARNERS ARE LEADERS" in as much as you learn by reading, watching videos, listening to audios, direct observation, etc. We have a knowledge-driven economy more than ever. 1 Like |

oyolohi: I like your logical point. But can you mention one example of your scenario in our present age for clarity? |

dumahi: But you have heard the usual parlance that readers are leaders. Should we now correct this age-long parlance for your new theme? |

XXXXTENTACION: Your point suggests there is still an iota of a reader becoming a leader. Can you explain further on what you mean by "it depends on what you read"? |

Easyincome24:If you spend time reading unimportant stuff like how many times nicki minaj cleans her bum in a day or the latest trump tweet i don't know how you plan to become a leader reading such stuff. 1 Like |
