Hello everyone. I had an interview with Allison Jones Consulting firm on the 14th of January, 2021 for HCA position. I saw their job advert on indeed.com for IEN's. During the interview, I was told that once successful I wld pay the sum of 6,700usd in 3 installments for LMIA and others. On the employment policy form, it's written no fees from candidates but I don't know why such huge fee was mentioned during the interview session. I want to find out if anyone has heard about them and how genuine they are. They have a website and a Facebook page which I had gone through but still not convinced. From the research I made, fee for LMIA is I,000CAD . Please people in Alberta should also help me to verify. Make person no enta one chance. Thanks all. Waiting for your respnses. |

Please I need some piece of advice concerning the next step to take. I'll be graduating from Nursing School by May and I'm weighing my options; - Getting my bsc through direct entry. (4 years) - Acquiring my RM certificate through post basic midwifery ( 1yr 6mths) and use the time to get prepared financially for the transition process. Honestly, the thought of spending for another 4 years in a Nigerian university is terrifying, considering the hassles attached to it. Please, I need a second opinion. Your response will be really appreciated. 1 Like |

Uzland:Canada is very strict about over staying visa. Honestly you would be useless to yourself in those 2yrs because unlike usa, there are very limited under the table jobs. So fending for yourself will be a nightmare. Regulating your visa even after marriage may be difficult because you may be faced with a Ban for overstating which would render you inadmissible. Also that will cost you thousands of dollars to hire a very good lawyer with no assurance. 1 Like |

Olenyhc: Your research is mostly correct. There is no way to get your license recognized without NNAS. The only thing you can do is retake your bachelors degree. There are after degree nursing programs that you would qualify for and they are 2yeard long. It is just a compressed 4yr curriculum so its like nursing from scratch. |

ChinmaRoxy: Bro, na better one chance be that imo. First red flag is that employees are not to pay for LMIA. It is against the Canadian law for the employee to pay for such. Secondly recruiting a HCA from abroad is also shady as it is not an occupation in demand, nor is it skilled enough to warrant international staffing. 2 Likes |

BlackNostra: I'd advice you to not spend any more time schooling in naija. Work and gather your money to move to UK. When you get there you can bridge your Rn to BSN for as little as 1year. No knowledge is wasted if you choose to go for midwifery, but it's your time you would waste. 4 Likes |

There's a nursing shortage throughout the Caribbean. If you're not quite ready to go to the US or UK, it could be a stepping stone, or you just might decide to settle there. |

Just like Vickyehi said, try and gather funds and start the UK process. It still remains the "cheapest" when compared with it's other foreign counterparts. All that's needed is just your RN licence. You can do a top up 1 or 2 years degree program. Please,do not let this opportunity pass you by. All the best. vickyehi: |

vickyehi: Thank you @vickyehi. Please do tell me the after degree programs and the schools that offer them. I will check Google too for more info. I think its better, as long as I'll write NCLEX once I graduate without waiting 2 to 5 years for NNAS. Additionally, do you have any idea if I can do a postgraduate nursing program and write NCLEX without NNAS? 1 Like |

Amy360:I dont know how long the process for nmc currently takes, but you can try to get an inside person who may be able to facilitate the process for you. I have a contact that I am willing to share, but I haven't used him in a while and so am not sure how much he actually speeds up the process these days. You can send me an email for his contact. |
