Let me say this
Im working in a bank and most times, embassies only write the bank to confirm if truly the statement and reference letter are real. They don't ask for sitting balance of account holders.
Once the bank confirm the statement and reference letter to be real, that settles the case.
mcobex:
If she returns the 3M what will she use on getting to Canada? Let's be careful about removing money from account after applying, the vo has every right to ask for updated SOA at anytime during the processing time. Imagine if that happens and there's no money left in her account.
I won't encourage that

Please for those that submitted Bank Statement and did not use their relative. Please I need your help. I am a fully funded student. Request for NSE. was in Nov. They just responded to me that they will resume my application after the document is received. Please what should I do. If you can advise please reach me.

The problem is I don't have a close relative with the funds. But can a third party do? Please how do I go about it?

Please help a sister o

You need to provide the required documents or you might be risking refusal. They have decided to put your application on hold because they do not want to refuse you and they are not giving you the option of regular processing. Send your personal account mybankstatement for one year with your letter of sponsor and also your ielts.

Thanks... Mine shouls be just 6 months old right? Also my company splits my salary into two different accounts. Would stream of income from other sources into my account as i try to build it also work? Asides salary. And would that be suspicious being that i live off my salary as the only source of income.

Also i read up passively somewhere where it was mentioned that i could obtain a letter from my organisation stating that i would return working upon the end of my study leave. Should i apply for such letter? My slary scale is bare over a hundred. Would that be useful or i should just forget complications in my application?

Cc @OtunbaTee

if you have evidence to back up stream of income from other sources then add it. Your own statement of account would help to show you are established in your home country. Have a good SOP that shows how the program will enhance your career

The leave letter is a good thing as it helps to prove home ties

Not mentioning your current status means you have to tell the vo what you have been doing after graduating from secondary school (I want to believe it's been at least 3 years since you left secondary school).
So, do you have anything to say to cover that? if not then you have to declare your current status and explain that due to some unforseen issues you couldn't concentrate on your studies, that's why your family wants to send you outside so you use that opportunity to avoid the distractions you had in Nigeria. And you hope to perform better this time

Good evening great minds,

Having followed this thread for some time now, I want to say a big thank you to all those who make out time to respond to queries here. God bless you all.

please guys, your advice will really go a long way here, I already applied for my M.A program which begins in September and my sister's husband is supposed to be my sponsor, but since we don't have same family name, we are considering moving funds into my sis account to balance the 30k CAD NSE requirement. This will mean having to wait till July before Visa application. My fear is that, the time frame will be too short to process considering my program start date. Please all the gurus and experts in the house help a brother. Should I ask them to move the funds or use him and then attach maybe their marriage cert.? again, is it advisable to wait till July before visa application for a September start date? Help a brother please cos local man is confused.

My first refusal was base on
1. financial and personal asset
2. Family ties in Canada and in home country
I order for GCMS note and I was able to tackle the issue by LOE and supporting documents.
My second refusal was base only on

Purpose of visit
Have ordered for GCMS note early non this recent application in order to know status of my application. I pray the reason for this new refusal should be included in GCMS request.

What does this VO want aaah? You block them here & they open another chapter ?
I'm pained by the refusal. Just when we all thought you fix everything now they say purpose of visit is not working. Purpose of visit which was working is Not working how Mr VO? Weti spoil there?
In all, I hope you have the adjustments needed & get your permit. I'm concerned. One spirit.

Hi,

This is my own suggestion....

Though NYSC is not a requirement for study Visa application, but I think you should do your NYSC first, then before you pass out, you can be processing your PG. Cert Admission, get it and apply for Visa. That one year period you can be using it to gather documents for your Admission & Visa. Hello sir, I’m currently doing my nysc , I would love to go for masters in finance in Canada . I don’t know if you can guide me , my dad is willing to sponsor me . Thanks for your response

Your NYSC PPA Acceptance Letter & your Discharge Certificate would show that you have a One year Work Experience. A Letter of Recommendation from that your PPA would be essential when you want to apply for Permanent Residence (PR).

From one of your post, you said you have the opportunity & connect to work in a food processing company for your NYSC and luckily for you, that is closely related to your degree. Not everyone has this opportunity, most corpers are being posted to schools to teach, so make use of this opportunity.

That one year Work experience can be helpful if you want to apply for Permanent Residence (Express Entry, PNP etc.) after your studies.

You still have age by your side, so play your cards well, so it can favor you both in your Study Visa Application & PR application in the nearest future.

For your Study Visa Application, having a work experience also has it's own benefit, most esp. If it relates to the program you want to go and study in Canada

Good day everyone. Please permit me to share my story.
I started this Canada talk since 2012/2013 when I graduated from secondary school then I later went to one university in ghana. Fast forward to 2018 when I was serving and I still wanted to travel then 2020 came and j started my process, I was miraculously able to raise 1m cause when I suggested Canada to my parents they said no. So before I started, a friend gave me an agents number which I called and he said I can't get admission for masters with my 2.2 and that even if I apply for pgd I have 20% chance of getting visa, I later went home and prayed and I applied and I got admission into 2 schools in Canada and chose Memorial and I paid part of my tuition which was also above the initial deposit and I wrote my ielts, which I just prepared for 3 days and I passed. So after all this I started thinking of where will I get statements since my parents are refusing to sponsor or help in anyway, then I spoke with ese and she told me to pray and have faith, although I contacted some people who were telling me to pay 500k, 400k for statements of just 10m. So I finally decided to go back and ask my parents with the help of my sister and Glory be to God my parents agreed and gave me statements of 15m which was more than what other were offering for 500k. Luckily for me I was able to submit my application this morning by 3am. I Just want to Say Thank you so much y'all for encouraging everyone and also advising everyone. I'm grateful, for those yet to apply and still in process, commit everything to God and he will do it. Peace

Hi Deohlarh, the Canadian Visa on the passport is to give the person access into Canada just to buttress on @mcobex point.

You would still be examined by an officer of the Canada Border Services Agency at the point of entry (POE) who will issue a study permit authorizing your stay in Canada but the examination is not something serious based on the testimonies of those who has travelled. This fact on study permit is always stated on the letter of introduction that drops on the GC account of the applicant after the counterfoil drops ( or passport gets stamped at IRCC)

I hope this addresses your question.

Why don't you have your sister’s hubby transfer the money to your account. He is third party sponsor and I think if he transfers the money to you, it would be superb instead of going round ?
Issue a LOS.
If it's done soonest, you can apply when you can. It would be seen as commitment.
The cash would definitely be a lump sum & this would be explained.

What a great IELTS score to becoming a Permanent Resident of Canada. If i may ask, Do you've two or more degrees and working experience in any particular NOC? You can check your current CRS score to know if you qualify for the Express Entry Program. You can even be in the EE pool at same time pursuing your study permit. PR is much more better to study permit because you will have to pay lesser for tuition fees and medical insurance is available for free.

It will end in praise.

Hello,

No o... I'm just going for my first degree

The stamp on your passport is a temporary resident visa(TRV) that allows you to travel to Canada, on arrival at the airport the immigration officer will now go through your admission letter to see the duration of your course, it it that duration of your course that will now determine the number of years study/work permit that will be issued to you.
Getting the study permit at the airport doesn't take much time (you might be asked some questions about what's the name of your school, your course or asked nothing).
DO YOU UNDERSTAND IT NOW?

You didn't address my point, so what happens if the embassy request for updated SOA again during the process? Or you don't know cases like that do happen?
Also, I can tell you for free with my experience I have seen cases where the vo stated in more than one applicant's gcms note the activities in the applicant's bank account after SOA submission because they withdrew the money after applying. That's an argument we have had on this platform some years ago and I don't think I will want to continue that now.
Stay safe

Sorry I don't reply DMs for now, but kindly ask all questions here and they will be attended to as fast as possible.
To have an idea on how to start kindly read the first page of this part and you will see the list of documents to submit and also links on very important steps to take. Also compare the information with that of www.cic.gc.ca just to be sure you are doing the right thing.
For admission, check all schools offering your intended course and their requirements to see which fits you ( financially and otherwise).
GOOD LUCK

NOTICE!!!
To all those trying to withdraw or return all the money in their account after printing SOA, please be careful so you don't come back here to cry. IRCC can be unpredictable and have the right to ask for another SOA after the first SOA, imagine if they do and there's nothing in your account.
Just be careful, please o

You are welcome,
Please I’m at the beginning of this process and I want to use the NSE route but I want to sponsor myself... can I put 30,000cad in my bank account and apply for the study permit or I have to wait for a certain period of time ??
Does it matter or I should go ahead and start the process ??

Thanks for your anticipated reply

This question has been answered already

The no 1. response which says

So you know that, it's the same way you will apply for the Regular Channel you will apply for the NSE route, the only difference is the way NSE route requires you to do Proof of Funds (POF) i.e MybankStatement Ticket having the required $30,000 CAD & the English test (IELTS) requirement

The only significant thing about NSE is the Mybank Statement Certificate/Ticket of the required POF & IELTS test (20 days processing time), but the regular channel you will have to scan your Sponsor's 6 months Bank Statement & you don't need IELTS (Presently 35 weeks processing time)

So While merging and uploading your Documents and this two NSE required documents are there, you have automatically given the Visa Officer the go ahead that you want your application to be processed via the NSE route.

Yes, once you are in Canada, you can get a job with a college certificate.

You will always need to show proof that you can pay for the tuition fee any time you want to school. So yes, you will need to show proof of fund if you want to go for master's after PGD

Yes, you can visit Nigeria during semester breaks as long as your visa is valid.

Information about PR is available on the IRCC website and it depends on the immigration programme you are applying for express entry, provincial nomination, etc

Otatom:
happy for you.
I am new here and trying to filter through all the info here because my questions may sound weird.
- is it possible to land a job with a college certificate ?
- do I need to show another proof of funds if going for Masters after PGD?
- can I visit Nigeria during semester breaks or so?
-how is the process of getting PR after studies?

I applied alone. Once my study visa was approved before I left Nigeria, my family applied to come and join me. Theirs was approved two months later, and this was after I had arrived Canada.

I am not so sure about family joining you for one year post graduate diploma. It is up to the visa officer to decide.

If it is a one year program, you won't get a 3 year post graduation work permit. They may give you a one year post graduation work permit. The conditions for post graduate work permit are on the IRCC website

OCHULORC:
Good day,
Your Testimony is so encouraging, Congratulations .

Please did you apply for the Visa as a Family or as a student First then later the family.

Also I am considering applying for Post graduate diploma course a (one year program ), Is it possible for me to get Visa for my family with this one year course if Yes, please do you think I would be able to finally get a 3 year post graduate permit?

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT
[/b]

Good day wonderful people, I shared my story in part 15 of this thread.

This is just to encourage everyone not to give up on this dream it is possible as long as you keep trying, working with the right information, expecting the best and having faith in God.

After my visa was approved, my family too was approved within two months later. So they joined me during my study in Canada.

I have completed my MSc program(faster than the normal duration), family was nominated by the Province for PR, got my 3-year post graduate permit, started working on a good job and hoping to live the Canadian dream! All things are possible.

I got a lot of information on this platform while applying for my study permit.
I am more than happy to provide advice and information as a way to give back to the platform.

Unfortunately I will not be able to reply to private messages due to some personal reasons. Please post your questions on the thread, I will provide answers if I know the answer or someone else can help. I believe we have very experienced people here who are willing to help.

I wish you all the best

Happy new year!
