From a rider perspective, the account holder/who ORDERED the ride is your client. If it was children you were sent to drop, are the children your client? If anything goes wrong, the account holder is who Uber holds, also if you rate the trip, they're the only ones you can rate so THEY are your clients. Anything left behind should go to the account holder to settle the rest from there because your CONTRACT is with the ACCOUNT HOLDER.

EDIT: this is only an argument because cash is allowed in Nigeria. Elsewhere where cash is not allowed, account holder gets billed and you have no business with any third party. You can't even deviate from the route account holder set with stops or anything like that. The account holder has to add the stop in the app.

God bless you! Drivers have no business with 3rd party rider in cases like this, its simple. Or have we forgotten there're lot of trips drivers do without even communicating with rider on the phone b4 PU? You accept request, drives to pickup, arrive on the bolt app or send a message on the uber app, rider comes out and off you start your trip. Most times self the rider is already standing waiting for your arrival. So in that case what do you do? If you can trace the trip you then initiate a call on the Bolt App or contact Uber on the app because Uber shot the windows of communications after every trip ends but on the bolt app you can still contact rider every after 3days or thereabout.

I share another experience. I got this request on Uber in Anthony village, Suya Spot, rider chatted me up and picked them up and dropped them off somewhere in Marryland, Mende. Next rider came in and called my attention to a pair of glasses, I collected it and dropped it inside my pigean hole. 3days later I received a message from Uber with the contact of the actual rider's contact to call her and arrange for a drop off of the pair of glasses. I made it clear to tje correspondent that I'll only drop it off when ever I find myself around the area otherwise the I'll charge for delivery. The guy said no problem when I drop it I should revert to them that I've dropped the item.

I dropped the item about a week later or thereabout.

As for the 2nd paragraph, if I where to be the one on that trip I'll ask the rider to seek the consent of the one that requested for ride for any deviation whatsoever. Its what I normally do and I've my reasons. Card trips riders can be very worrisome tricky sometimes because most of them thinks most drinkers can't context a fight.

Let me share another experience on card with diversions and stops.

Got this request on Uber somewhere around Surulere with a 1.7x surge around 8/9pm... Got to PU the guy came out with his lady and informed me it was a card trip and I'm dropping her off somewhere arpund unilag. As we enroute I dont know bae must have felt comfortable so she demanded I shouldn't end the ride when we get to her destination because she just want to pickup a friend and then proceed to isolo. I was like "then you'll have to tell you man to update the address" or we donit offline"

No na, since its a card trip, I dont have cash to pay, she replied.

Ok then tell your man to update the ride or we do it offline...

Now, I'd done that trip without the actual rider updating the address I would have got my hand burnt because the guy in question already told me where to drop off his lady so if the fare had gone beyond the 1k estimate he saw he would have asked for a price review and only the supreme mercy would have been able to save me.

So it's fraudulent to deviate from the original route or do stops off the routes when on card trips especially when it a 3rd party ride.

There was another experience I shared here on Bolt. How many of you can remember? Sangotedo to Egbeda B/S was the original trip. But I f8nally dropped of the girl after Igando. Trips was a card trip, during the partial lockdown that ends 8pm then. I can remember vividly it was on a Friday and actual rider order for the sex worker(lady) but Bolt knew the ETA so they refused to allocate the final destination which is igando to the rider reason for Egbeda. Trip lasted almost 3hrs, finally got to Egbeda 8:05pm and me ive to get home but I can't stop this girl here because everywhere looked so deserted not even a single bus or police at the popular junction. The man that ordered the ride couldnt update the address, She begged me to do offline to the final destination which we settled for 2k or thereabout. While we were negotiating I was driving towards her final destination so I forgot to end trip at Egbeda B/S. Oya trip end na, Bolt App says I've left the original destination I was like what's going here?

To cut it short, trip ended N6.5k, my price review returned after 3days with 8.5k. Abt 8-9days later Bolt blocked my account saying I committed an offense... The story long.

I can't agree to this.. If the riders had brought in drugs to the car and forgot it. If you're held at a check point, believe me

1. Uber will have no business with the rider.
2. The first person you'd call is the owner of the account what booked the ride.
3. Police has no business with who entered the car. (Its your words against theirs).
4. Account owner will/might deny you (Here you'll now rely solely on Uber app to prove your case).
5. Remember its a card trip, hence goods and services belonged to account owner.

So if you're not returning it to the account owner. DRINK IT!

Oga, all it takes to open an Uber account is a phone number and an email

If Uber or Bolt had enough biodata of riders, people would be scared to kill drivers and steal their cars. I once had a Bolt account with profile name FFFFFF. How Bolt wan know say na me? grin

The reason why Davit called the man is because he listened to the conversation between those girls.

Quick question: If I order a ride for a friend, and you pick them and they forgot a package in your car, would you call me if you really have the contact of the person you carried?

This thing na very simple something. Call the girls and give them their drinks. Forget all these police and court of law wey we dey assume. E no really follow for the discussion

Anything I tell you about bolt rating, take it as the gospel truth. Trust me, I have demystified the rating system and can easily manipulate it. Infact bolt pays me money to increase my own rating( Please don't ask me how)

Let me tell you exactly why people think cancellation affects ratings.

Dunfortunate48 picks someone to Isolo, the rider gives him three stars but he does not know. He cancels his next three requests before he eventually gets one with destination close to his house so he takes it.

As he ends the trip, he noticed his rating has dropped and he thinks it has to do with the cancellations before the final trip.

The scenario above mirrors most peoples experiences.

Donfortunes48 grin

Case closed...let me also add...not all riders rate immediately trip ends, some rate u days later, some others only when they want to request another ride. So if your rating drops after a few cancelled trips, its just a coincidence. It can also go up as d case may be.

Interesting.

Why can't these guys do the same thing here? Allow rider set the route to destination, show them all available routes and price estimate and driver to strictly follow route selected by rider.

All these "you used a longer route, you deliberately drove into traffic" bla bla won't be there.

Guys can you help me call this number( +2347082033163) and ask him to please send the agreed money, this guy crushed my side mirror and because I was on a ride I was being a gentle man, we agreed that he will pay part of it. Now he's refusing to pick the call after promising to pay. He's also a driver, I can't drive since morning and there he is moving freely.

Sorry Bro...next time u want to let the person go collect original drivers licence or original document or something valuable from the person. Except God touches that guys heart, he has gone for good. Try and fix your car and move on.

Dropping it at Bolt's office comes with a price too...Your fuel and time

If na me, I'll just call the girls and let them arrange for a pickup. No long talk

We can always assume that they stole it, but then there are three sides to a story. What if it's their own way to get back at him? Let's not assume sha grin

For me, the girls brought it in. If you have access to their digits, call them and move on.

No need to complicate things

Now that he has called the man, and the girls have somehow gotten his number and called him too, what should he do?

Me will not intentionally go, unless I find myself close to Bolt office. I once picked a rider ard Surulere, she really messed up that day by wasting my time and gave this attitude of shabi my money is reading. My novice days, I was just taking her from one place to another within Lere, as fate would have it, she forgot 2 products she went to get from Bismid. When she called and I notice she's not ready to part with anything for return trip, I told her whenever I'm ard her neighbourhood, she will get her stuff. 3 days gone, I'm yet to get a trip to Lere, this Lady called and threatened to report... I told her about having option to drop it in Bolt's office, so she can as well go to the office, cos I'll drop her items dia. That was the end of Solomon, I didn't bother myself going to anywhere and she stopped calling as well.

@Davit! Tell both of them to go get the drinks at Bolt office, they obviously won't go. You know what to do with d drinks, bring it over here, let us party... where's Tojahh Marley, Felicity Burner come let's party

Lolz... drinks don dey for meet and greet. No need for contribution again grin grin grin

Brotherly, I don't know what he should do oh grin

I always like to mind my business. As long as those girls were the people that forgot it, it should be given to them.

I don't think any court would find me guilty if I return an item that a previous rider forgot (irrespective of whether the rider ordered or not)

This is just too bad. I remember having an encounter of the nature with a British man 2 years ago. He promised to call me to fix my car but I changed it for him. The next thing the man said offed me. "I'm not a Nigerian".

Lo and behold, I let him go. Got his card. He turned out be the MD of BAT then. He was even the one disturbing me to fix my car days later.
We need to change this bad attitude as Nigerians.

I won't agree with your point.
A lady ordered me on Uber to deliver foods to her boy friend in sangotedo from surulere January 1st, 2018 ( My first trip that day)
The guy left his iPhone X in the car while offloading the foods.
I was on my way to pick the 2nd rider when I noticed a phone on the seat.
I quickly called the lady that ordered the ride to inform the guy incase he might have been accusing someone in his neighbourhood of stealing. The guy later called, asked me to bring it back to ShopRite novare sangotedo and paid me 8k without stress.
Your direct client is the account holder
Assuming the trip was on a cash trip and those ladies did a fake transfer and left.
Who do you call?
Who is going to be responsible for the penalty when you report to Uber/bolt?

God let this cup no pass over me.

I once picked a rider inside Thomas Estate. A 3rd party trip, after attitude known to our female colleagues. She later forgot her samsung phone in my car. I didn't even know because she sat at the back. It was when the owner of the account called me like 20mins later I looked back and saw the phone. Told him it will cost her 2800 to get it at Iyana Oworo. Which was same fee the ride cost.

The guy said i should settle that with the lady. Lady begin para say I be thief and all that. I just weak. She come begin speak those Warri slangs for me wey me Benin Boy. I tell am say make she no worry she go see her phone for Effurun. After 3 days she called and after much famzing I sent the phone via dispatch bike to her.

So you see, first person to call is the ACCOUNT OWNER! Make no mistakes about that. The ehailing companies has almost zero concern with the 3rd party rides.
exactly what i did when one lady was trying to play smart on me , she forgot designer glass in my car told her i can't just bring the glass unless i got a trip to that same address or anywhere closer grin the girl wan use call finish my life alas i gave it to dispatch rider with her phone no and address, bike charged 1500

I think this is the 2nd or 3rd time they're doing this card payment survey. I think it won't be immediate, they're just trying to prepare drivers for commission payment.
