radautoworks: God bless you! Drivers have no business with 3rd party rider in cases like this, its simple. Or have we forgotten there're lot of trips drivers do without even communicating with rider on the phone b4 PU? You accept request, drives to pickup, arrive on the bolt app or send a message on the uber app, rider comes out and off you start your trip. Most times self the rider is already standing waiting for your arrival. So in that case what do you do? If you can trace the trip you then initiate a call on the Bolt App or contact Uber on the app because Uber shot the windows of communications after every trip ends but on the bolt app you can still contact rider every after 3days or thereabout. I share another experience. I got this request on Uber in Anthony village, Suya Spot, rider chatted me up and picked them up and dropped them off somewhere in Marryland, Mende. Next rider came in and called my attention to a pair of glasses, I collected it and dropped it inside my pigean hole. 3days later I received a message from Uber with the contact of the actual rider's contact to call her and arrange for a drop off of the pair of glasses. I made it clear to tje correspondent that I'll only drop it off when ever I find myself around the area otherwise the I'll charge for delivery. The guy said no problem when I drop it I should revert to them that I've dropped the item. I dropped the item about a week later or thereabout. As for the 2nd paragraph, if I where to be the one on that trip I'll ask the rider to seek the consent of the one that requested for ride for any deviation whatsoever. Its what I normally do and I've my reasons. Card trips riders can be very worrisome tricky sometimes because most of them thinks most drinkers can't context a fight. Let me share another experience on card with diversions and stops. Got this request on Uber somewhere around Surulere with a 1.7x surge around 8/9pm... Got to PU the guy came out with his lady and informed me it was a card trip and I'm dropping her off somewhere arpund unilag. As we enroute I dont know bae must have felt comfortable so she demanded I shouldn't end the ride when we get to her destination because she just want to pickup a friend and then proceed to isolo. I was like "then you'll have to tell you man to update the address" or we donit offline" No na, since its a card trip, I dont have cash to pay, she replied. Ok then tell your man to update the ride or we do it offline... Now, I'd done that trip without the actual rider updating the address I would have got my hand burnt because the guy in question already told me where to drop off his lady so if the fare had gone beyond the 1k estimate he saw he would have asked for a price review and only the supreme mercy would have been able to save me. So it's fraudulent to deviate from the original route or do stops off the routes when on card trips especially when it a 3rd party ride. There was another experience I shared here on Bolt. How many of you can remember? Sangotedo to Egbeda B/S was the original trip. But I f8nally dropped of the girl after Igando. Trips was a card trip, during the partial lockdown that ends 8pm then. I can remember vividly it was on a Friday and actual rider order for the sex worker(lady) but Bolt knew the ETA so they refused to allocate the final destination which is igando to the rider reason for Egbeda. Trip lasted almost 3hrs, finally got to Egbeda 8:05pm and me ive to get home but I can't stop this girl here because everywhere looked so deserted not even a single bus or police at the popular junction. The man that ordered the ride couldnt update the address, She begged me to do offline to the final destination which we settled for 2k or thereabout. While we were negotiating I was driving towards her final destination so I forgot to end trip at Egbeda B/S. Oya trip end na, Bolt App says I've left the original destination I was like what's going here? To cut it short, trip ended N6.5k, my price review returned after 3days with 8.5k. Abt 8-9days later Bolt blocked my account saying I committed an offense... The story long. 4 Likes |

tojahh: Oga, all it takes to open an Uber account is a phone number and an email If Uber or Bolt had enough biodata of riders, people would be scared to kill drivers and steal their cars. I once had a Bolt account with profile name FFFFFF. How Bolt wan know say na me? The reason why Davit called the man is because he listened to the conversation between those girls. Quick question: If I order a ride for a friend, and you pick them and they forgot a package in your car, would you call me if you really have the contact of the person you carried? This thing na very simple something. Call the girls and give them their drinks. Forget all these police and court of law wey we dey assume. E no really follow for the discussion 7 Likes |

kanuisagoat: Donfortunes48 Case closed...let me also add...not all riders rate immediately trip ends, some rate u days later, some others only when they want to request another ride. So if your rating drops after a few cancelled trips, its just a coincidence. It can also go up as d case may be. 2 Likes |

radautoworks: Interesting. Why can't these guys do the same thing here? Allow rider set the route to destination, show them all available routes and price estimate and driver to strictly follow route selected by rider. All these "you used a longer route, you deliberately drove into traffic" bla bla won't be there. |

skillip: Sorry Bro...next time u want to let the person go collect original drivers licence or original document or something valuable from the person. Except God touches that guys heart, he has gone for good. Try and fix your car and move on. But Kama is a beach and God is on the throne. Whatever a man sows, that he will surely reap. Pearl1910: Brotherly, I don't know what he should do oh I always like to mind my business. As long as those girls were the people that forgot it, it should be given to them. I don't think any court would find me guilty if I return an item that a previous rider forgot (irrespective of whether the rider ordered or not) 1 Like |

This is just too bad. I remember having an encounter of the nature with a British man 2 years ago. He promised to call me to fix my car but I changed it for him. The next thing the man said offed me. "I'm not a Nigerian". Lo and behold, I let him go. Got his card. He turned out be the MD of BAT then. He was even the one disturbing me to fix my car days later. We need to change this bad attitude as Nigerians. Pearl1910: 6 Likes |

izzou:I won't agree with your point. A lady ordered me on Uber to deliver foods to her boy friend in sangotedo from surulere January 1st, 2018 ( My first trip that day) The guy left his iPhone X in the car while offloading the foods. I was on my way to pick the 2nd rider when I noticed a phone on the seat. I quickly called the lady that ordered the ride to inform the guy incase he might have been accusing someone in his neighbourhood of stealing. The guy later called, asked me to bring it back to ShopRite novare sangotedo and paid me 8k without stress. Your direct client is the account holder Assuming the trip was on a cash trip and those ladies did a fake transfer and left. Who do you call? Who is going to be responsible for the penalty when you report to Uber/bolt? 11 Likes |
