Case closed...let me also add...not all riders rate immediately trip ends, some rate u days later, some others only when they want to request another ride. So if your rating drops after a few cancelled trips, its just a coincidence. It can also go up as d case may be.

Most people think their rides have been smooth and they've had no issues with riders so when rating drops, they automatically think it has to do with cancellations.

I have mentioned this elsewhere, riders rate people low for all sort of reasons. Could be suspension noise grin

I once took a woman to the airport, said she was running late and had a 5pm flight to catch. I drove as fast as I possibly could burning loads of fuel and weaving in and out of vehicles. We made it to the airport before 5.

This woman for reasons best known to her gave me 3 stars.

If I had cancelled a lot of trips before hers, I would have thought my rating dropped because of those cancellations because off the top of my head, I can't think of any reason why she'll do that.

Some riders are evil, those same riders will board the ikorodu blue BRT buses with all suspension noise Dy will never complain bt wen Dy see a man managing ehailing hustle Dy will flex muscle with low rating.
Dis life no balance

Even besides the stated below;
At times, police and Lastman do disregard traffic light and pass vehicles when the light is on red..... this happened many times ......even today sef

It must have been one of those inevitable situations where light will turn green but other cars on red are still passing and by the time you maneuver your way light is already red. But how person go take explain that one give them grin

Hi guys, just here to share my experience.
So some days back when I was in lagos,I took a bolt from yaba to Abule Osun (cool guy came after several attempts because every person kept declining),got to abule Osun(wasted the guys time oo because we had to wait to pick something up,more than an hour),then he took me to Jibowu to waybill the stuff, the guy actually waited again and helped me a lot with the whole work, then from there we headed for VI Kofo abayomi side, only to get there and bolt gave final bill as N4700 shocked shocked
I was like what? cheesy
The guy actually said let him refresh that it happens like that sometimes, after refresh still N4700. cheesy
I am a very humane guy(though I really hate religion and all their crap) and unto say me and the guy don connect wella inside motor plus all the help he gave to me,I handed him 8k grin
He say ahh chairman add something for me na,I topped 1k for him making it 9k.
Now leaving the connections aside and the help he gave to me ,
On a normal day, would it cost N4700 to make all these trips or was bolt actually faulty and cheated the guy?
Just curious as I am not lagos based.
Thanks.

Bolt app really socks. This happens lots of times. Of recent, i usually have to restart my bolt apps while on a trip; app wil just close and disappears. Sometimes it will show error and stayed like that untill the app restarted.

Yaba to Abule Osun - N600
Waiting for 1hr.30mins - N1000
Abule Osun to Jibowu - N500
Another waiting of 30mins - N330
Abule Osun to Kofo Abayomi - N2,000
Base Fare - N220
Total fare for the ride is N4,650
So plus or minus N4,700 was the right fare for that trip, App was very correct.

U see as we dey suffer abi undecided cry

I was on another 3rd party trip this night. A lady booked for her friend. On getting to drop off, I asked her to pay. Next I hear, "the app says collect cash from KD and that she no be KD, so she can't pay". Omoh, I gentle within me. I sha made her see the reason to pay.
I guess, she thought the friend booked on a card trip. Some, people sha.

But na true na, she no be KD. You for collect money for KD hand. cheesy cheesy cheesy Mad people everywhere.

But on a more serious note, that's one of my issues with BOLT. They don't carry out sensitization on their riders. We understand that it would be difficult and stressful to train riders just like they train drivers. The least they could do is send out regular newsletters or mails concerning proper etiquettes before ordering a ride, during the ride and after the ride.

Some riders don't know why they have to rate. Some don't even know the rating affects the driver directly. Some have this NIGERIAN LECTURERS mentality that "A" (5stars) is for God, so matter how nice and cool the ride went, they'll still rate below 5stars.

Some riders would be waiting for the driver to call after requesting a ride, without understanding that the driver was probably on the highway when the request came in and was accepted and it would be difficult to place a call immediately (That's one my major issues with INDRIVER by the way).

Some riders feel they "PAY" for the TIME/DURATION of the ride, so they can decide to take their time WASTE THE DRIVER'S TIME, without understanding that the driver is more concerned about the DISTANCE COVERED or more preferably "CHANGE IN LOCATION" of the ride.

Some don't know how to pinpoint their exact location on the MAP when requesting a ride and inputting their destination, thereby making it difficult for the driver to easily pickup (Me I don't even stress. Once I discern that you didn't input your pickup correctly, and you can't give me a consise description using a LANDMARK, and it's not a trip that would "make sense", I just cancel the trip. I can't kill myself).

These and many more issues are what riders don't understand.

BOLT should do more in sensitizing riders to make life easier for drivers.

The bolded CAN NOT happen on bolt because the server does not enable riders to rate hours later, its only possible on Uber.

It's either you are new in the hustle or you just want to ignore the fact, that traffic and other things can really affect price.

How can yaba to abule osun be 600 shocked and u still estimated abule osun to jibowu as 500 all your estimate is 100% wrong bro. Even you estimated waiting of 1.30 HR as 1000naira.

How did you know the real total km covered?
How do you arrive at the real time spent?
How are you so sure about all the real total waiting time?

Do you know all the above affect total bill.

A estimated bill of 600 can end up in 1200 without surge, due to traffic and other legal variables.

That trip is way more than 4700, it should not be less than 12k

If I was the driver and the rider informed me of all the stops and waiting, I would have opted for an offline

Yaba to Abule Osun is about 25km plus waiting time

Estimated as 3.5k minimum and 4.5k Max

Coming back estimated 3.5k min and 4.5Max

Yaba to VI 1.2k min 2kmax

Min amount 3.5 + 3.5 + 1.2 = 8.2k
Max amount 4.5+ 4.5+ 2 = 11k

To me, what the app calculated was d going trip plus the time on the app, the distance covered from Abule Osun to Yaba and Yaba to VI was not calculated

For giving him 8k, the guy was reasonable and for adding the 1k... You have also done well.

Fact that the parcel guy said a lot of drivers were declining means the Abule Osun is not a driver's preffered destination.

Even with d winter, I won't go to Alakija, ojoo, satellite town, mile2 and its environs.

Am very sure sey the guy phone is not good.

I have told drivers to always ensure the phone u use determine the trip price. Things like ram, phone storage, phone network and most especially GPS quality.

Not all phones are built equally some manufacturers focus on camera e.g alhaji tecno and his brothers grin while some focus on chipset and other hardware parts e.g apple

D driver was disappointed wen he say the price. Thank God the rider is not an oven if not na 4000 he go collect.

I believe y d driver still asked for more was out of frustration
