Travel history as a reason for refusal happens quite frequently more than you think; especially for somewhat older applicants.

Akannitommy:
Wow! This is the first time seeing a VO statement specifically saying someone didn't have international travel history as one of the reasons for refusals. Applications are indeed differently treated. Several people applied with VIRGIN passports and such was never a concern. Its really crazy how unpredictable the VOs can be.

I think the main issue here was your finance. Improve that and make sure the re-application is as tight as before, you should be god with God on your side.

Ire oh! It shall end in praises.

Good evening NL

Please assistance and advice needed.

I am applying to Memorial University, Newfoundland for a graduate program. Documents requested are
1. Transcript
2. Two references
3. Statement of Intent
4. IELTS
5. Etc

I can easily get transcript and educational reference from the school I graduated from. Also, I can get professional reference from my previous employer.

Advice needed here would be
1. Should I get my school to send transcript and reference directly to MUN or I should get a copy for myself and upload, same goes for professional reference.
2. I also intend applying to 2 other schools, but I am considering the cost for sending transcripts directly.
3. Can someone please put me through on writing a letter of intent (is it same with SOP)?

I studied international relations, I have been in the banking sector in the last 7years, and I applied for employee relations.

Please i would really appreciate a feedback.

Thanks.
Hi,i dont think you need to submit ur offficial transcript, MUN now accept a student copy i.e unofficial pending when u get admission.
Also, you dnt need to send ur reference letter directly, A link wuld be sent to ur professors to complete it. Kindly let me know if u have more questions. Happy to help. Regards

Hi,

I understand the feeling. It is not strange to most people here. Its a form of baptism so no problem. Here is what I would advise.

Unless you can get a scanner/imaging technology that will optimize the output of all intended attachments for quality and file size then you need to strike a balance. This will be between adding many documents and ensuring contents for those attached are clear and legible on the one hand, and keeping the eventual file size below 4MB.

So take another look at your documents. If you have a business and company registration for instance with 12 pages, you probably don't need more than 2 or 3 of those pages. Keep the CAC certificate, profile of directors/owners and description of business activities. You will weed out 8 to 9 pages here. A land document for instance only need the survey and or main C/O pages. I added just a survey for land document. Also, you should explore how to have two or more small sized related documents on a single page. All my kids birth certificates were on a page. You can have passport data page and birth certificates and/or old visas on the same page.

The final decision is yours. NB: Don't forget to gather as much material as possible but then decide on which ones are the most imporatnt to use becasue of the quality and file size limitations. Actually both correspond positively; as image quality impproves, file size does too and vice versa.

Ire oh! It shall end in praises.

Greetings Great Minds!

I have concerns with compressing documents and their eligibility to read;

1. when fully compressed (strong compression using smallPdf pro), figures in my transcript and other recommendation letters/documents appears hard to read!

Question: Am I being overly concerned about this? Is it just ok

If I am the VO reading these docs, that's some extra work the applicant is giving me! I am just abit concerned.

Any comment on this or some other extra thing to do to my docs to make it small and still able to be read without stress, please, kindly offer your thoughts.

Thank you in advance!

I know that - my comment was "first time seeing a VO statement specifically saying someone didn't have international travel history as one of the reasons for refusals. ". I was refering to the comments in the GCMS notes. Even though it is a common reason for refusal, you rarely see it stated this clearly in a GCMS note.

1. I think it is close enough
2. Neither really matters as none of them guarantees approval. Theoretically, NSE is supposed to be faster. But if you are able to, submit your IELTS (with each 6 or higher) and 1 year mybankstatement or normal bank statement together with your application.
3. That depends on your personal circumstance, most people will say 1 month is enough for you to prepare.

Please help answer this
Also will I require my transcripts to apply for my study visa from my post secondary schools?

Thank you.

You need the unofficial transcripts for your visa application. This is to show your grades in each course during your undergraduate studies.

i am not satisfied that you will leave canada at the end of you stay as stipulated in subsection 216 based on your family ties in Canada and in your country residence

i am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available sufficient and available financial resources ,without working in canada,to pay school fees for the course or the programme of studies that you Intend to pursue

I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada to maintain yourself and any family member who are accompany you during your proposed period of study.

Thanks

I have sufficiently addessed your questions via email and the concerns raised by the responsible immigration officer on your last application.

Below is my response to your concerns via email.

Hello,

Thank you for your email. I have reviewed the supporting documents and GCMS notes attached with this email.

The visa officer has concerns that you're not sufficiently well established that your proposed course of study would be at a reasonable expense. Your planned studies in Canada is mainly to be financed by your uncle who describes himself as "cousin". The visa officer clearly mentioned that prior to the transfer of the funds your sponsor sent to your account, your income and account is modest.

He further stated that the incentives to stay back in Canada far outweighs your ties in your home country. Given the factors surrounding your application, he is not satisfied that you're a bonafide student and would depart Canada after studies.

My advice to the above concerns:

First and foremost, I would advice that your (Uncle/Cousin as the case maybe) should pay up your first year tuition fee to the school to prove his commitment towards sponsoring your education.

Secondly, provide documents that would establish the proof of relationship you've with your sponsor (Birth Certificates, Whatsapp Messages with sponsor concerning your studies abroad, pictures taken in the past, family tree, proof of previous financial support etc.)

More so, your sponsor should clearly explain your relationship with you in his sponsorship letter. Already, there is a discrepancy in information as the visa officer's is not satisfied that you're both related as your uncle had introduced himself to the immigration as your "cousin"

Again, build your account in little fractions and have a considerable amount as a closing balance.

Lastly, your sponsor should state the amount he intends sponsoring you with from his bank account.

I hope this information helps in your next application.

Regards,

You don't require an agent to complicate your profile. All the information you need for a successful study permit application can be obtained on this platform at no cost. As for the program that suits your academic background, you can explore the Master of Management in International Acounting and Finance program at University of Windsor.

Hello @Frankrobbn1

I am applying for a study permit but I was denied a tourist visa in 2019 and was in the EE pool but expired now. Do I need to mention both while writing my LOE/SOP?

You don't need to state your tourist visa refusal in your LOE/SOP. Truthfully declare all the refusals you've had in the past when filing the study permit application form under the background information.

You don't really have to mention it in your LOE, but MAKE sure you thick "YES" on the application form when asked if you have ever applied or been denied Canada or any other country's visa in the past (also state the reason for the denial). Doing that on the form should be enough.
N.B: To be clear, I said it doesn't really matter if you mention it in your LOE simply because the denied application isn't related to study and the requirement is different from that of studies. The most important place to say it will be on your application form, where you will asked if you have ever applied or been denied visa before. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ANSWER "YES" TO THAT

Apt!

Please I'm hoping you can help me with some of my questions.

- Can I apply for advanced diploma in construction engeering technology which is a 3 year course although I have a 2:2 in Architecture for my first degree. Is this possible?

- will i be showing the proof of funds for the 3 years tuition when applying through NSE or the minimum 30k CAD will do?

NB: tuition is 16k/yr.

Go for PGD in Project Management at Conestoga College thats the best course for you not an advanced diploma program.

1) There is no Career/Academic progression in going for a degree lesser than your first degree i.e B.SC going for an Advanced Diploma

Your best shot is to apply for a Post Graduate Program (PG. Cert)

You can check out a

PG. Cert in Construction Management (2 years program)
Conestoga College, Waterloo,
Ontario

See the link below for more details
https://www.conestogac.on.ca/fulltime/construction-management

2) Do await response to this question

The PG. Cert in Construction Management (2 years program) at Conestoga College is strictly designed for Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizens. Consequently, he is not eligible to apply for this program. As earlier stated, he should go for PGD/C in Project Management at Conestoga College.

So I was refused based on this reason
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.
What can I do to address it apart from personal bank statement or assets..what other options do I have

I regret to hear that your study visa was refused. Please order for your GCMS notes to obtain a clearer insight about the delayed outcome of your application. In the meantime, you can share the list of documents you submitted in support of your last application and the details of sponsor as well as your intended course of study in Canada.

20 days for processing is likely 1 month( 28-31 days) if u factor weekends and public holidays.

Hi Bro,

I applied late Nov along with IELTS & MyBank Statements off the bat. I did not get an NSE request(perhaps as I have already applied with both documents upfront along with medicals as this was my second application).

My eligibility review has been on for 3 weeks or thereabout. Would it make sense to send both IELTS & MyBank Statements again, this time via webform or email and ask that the application should go through NSE route? Its been more than the 20 days processing time.

Actually,

Conestoga college have construction management program available for both International students & domestic students.

They are being differentiated by code numbers, program duration & one of them is project management embedded.

See this,

- PG. Cert in Construction Management -1378B
(2 years program)

Conestoga College, Waterloo,
Ontario

https://www.conestogac.on.ca/fulltime/construction-management

The 1378B is available for international students, but not available for Canadian Students

- PG. Cert Construction Project Management - 0895 (a year program)
Waterloo, Ontario

https://www.conestogac.on.ca/fulltime/construction-project-management

The 0895 is available for Canadian students but not available for International Students

To confirm this
On their website, it says

Note:
This program is designed for international students wishing to pursue studies in the field of construction management. Domestic students (Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and refugee claimants or convention refugees) wishing to pursue studies in construction management should choose Construction Project Management (program 0895).

I made one mistake , I have submitted my Passpoort to VFS already and I guess one of the requirements of Form A is the international passport (although I have the copy) dont know if that will be accepted but the deadline is fast approaching .
