I didn't ask you for tears or lashes, fool

All i ask is evidence which you have not given

Am asking your pyscho yoruba sister to bring evidence that ibadan warriors truly raided edo, atleast she insisted on the lagos history that we must hear from both side both from the aworis and edo account to draw conclusions

So i like to do thesame in this case, a statement from the respective areas raided by ibadan in edo
Attesting to the raid, firstly

This attestation must be from the various ethnic website or written by an indigene of such town Attesting to the raids on their town or else its bullshit

That we can then prove the raiding was not a magic myth, told for tribal glorification

Secondly we can then go to compare, all stories from this various places in edo with that of the yorubas and the benins to find the truth

Benin raided eastern Yoruba the prove is there for everyone to see, the kingship, the benin names and co, will easily make it easy to know the raiding wasnt a myth, but yet tao11 would still ask to compare from both account,
I hope no one would cry foul for her sake, esp you Balogunodua for being unfair

The boy poor won’t cease being a dullard. grin

His own people (not one Edo group, not two Edo groups, nor three Edo groups, not four Edo groups, not five Edo groups, but several Edo groups) all admitted to have being slave raided.

Yet my rag needs a BBC or CNN video documentary which shows how his daddies and mommies were captured by their Yorubas slave-raiders from Ilesha, Ibadan, and Ilorin. grin

Wait, did he say his daddies and mommies lied to have been slave-raided by the Yorubas in order to prop-up their Edo cultural heritage. Amazing! I never knew the Yorubas were this influential. LMAO!

Moreover, I already posted a video, some days ago, showing how the descendants of the enslaved Edos were returning back home to Benin kingdom for the first time since the Yorubas sold off their Edo ancestors.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxDve0rwQbM&t=506s

Oh yes I did for sure. My rag’s dumb excuse was that the return must be the Republic of Benin and not Benin Kingdom in Nigeria.

Just as every single one of his dumb pleadings, that also failed because of the screenshot below which was captured from timestamp 8:20 of the video.

One of my greatest joys is that the information is out there now — especially on a public thread as this one. Hahaha!

Everyone now knows where to turn to whenever these Edos pass their boundary again.

Nairaland will get better the day every normal person stops engaging trolls. Don't feed the trolls.
When you see some people who keep following you wherever you go, who talk about you all day everyday. Eventhough they clearly worship you, it is best to step back from engaging them, because they are sick in the head.
Keep a distance between yourself and your stalker.

This is what I said earlier, when you debate those your history is 400 years older than theirs, you will only get insults because they have nothing to showcase.

Imagine you telling a history of how your forefathers used to kill lions and tigers with bare hands and someone jumps out from nowhere to distract you by claiming his/her forefathers also used to kill chickens with bare hands and if you are not careful, you get distracted and start asking for evidence which they can't provide, before you know it, you get dragged through insults.

There are evidence all over the place that Benin's controlled of Yoruba land was near total, from Ijebu which S. JOHNSON claimed were used as sacrifices for Benin gods to eastern Yoruba whose several rulers were beheaded by Benin army, to Lagos that had Benin military garrison as early as 1602, to Oyo whose Alaafin once paid tributes to Benin and relied upon Benin for military protection until the arrival of the British, Benin influence and controlled of Yoruba land can't be denied, don't get distracted by claim of bandits raiding some villages. Infact, Yoruba most famous tribal war, the Kiriji war got it's name from the fearsome sounds, Ki-Ri-ji, of Benin supplied guns. All sides in the Yoruba civil war relied on Benin for the guns they used to kill themselves.

You can't be telling history of a centralised military force that controlled an entire territory and someone is trying to distract you by saying some criminals bandits similar to Oyenusi or Anini raided some villages. What's so special about criminal raids.

They will always come up with all these funny distractions. They should always be referred to their fellow playmates, those whose history started like theirs in 1824 to play it. Just know that if you don't ignore them, it will results to insults.

Benin history is 400 years ahead of others.

The entire Delta Igbo region was under the Benin Empire during pre-colonial time. Their kingship and royal thrones were established by the Binis.

Exactly what I thought. Royalty is foreign to Igbo culture. It is a very recent development.
Not the case with Delta Igbo region. Their kingship date back to centuries ago before the arrival of the British due to the influence of the Benin Empire. And many of their royal stools were established by Benin princes sent to rule those lands hundreds of years ago. You can even see the picture of this new Obi of Issele-Uku paying homage to the Oba of Benin before his coronation which is a clear sign of identification with his root.

okay but Why did they change their languages and names? kinda weird they should still be speaking and bearing edo names, how come their names and language were lost to another ethnic group.
When the Fulanis conquered and are still ruling over the Hausa people, did they change the language of the Hausas? Are the Hausas not still speaking their language till date?
That is the case with the Binis during pre-colonial era. They (Binis) ruled over many tribes (from Lagos, to Akure, Owo, Ekiti, Itsekiri, Delta Ijaws, Urhobo-Isoko, Afemai, Ishan, Agbor, Delta Igbo, etc) but they didn't make attempt to impose their language on their subjects. The ancient Benin Obas saw it as not so necessary.

So the romans had a wall round Rome because they were scared of the Macedonians or what. Cities build defenses around themselves. The only foreign force that successfully entered Benin itself was the British....

Go all over anioma land they will tell you tales of how their medicine men were always coming to Benin. You can't compare Benin to Agbor na....the original name for what you call Agbor is Agbon.

The influence of Benin is felt all around her. All around. You see it everywhere. The reason why some people in anioma will say they are not Igbo is because of the Benin factor.
The Igbos across the Niger are deficient in rich history, and vain pride will not allow them to accept the fact that Delta Igbos were once under the imperial rule of ancient Benin Empire. I am Urhobo and the name of my clan is "Agbon". There is historical relationship between my "Urhobo Agbon" and "Ika Agbor". History has it that our ancestor "Agbon" and his household migrated from ancient "Udo" near present day Benin city, settled temporarily around modern day Agbor town where he had his first son whom he named "Okpara" ( meaning first child)", before finally moving to our present location in the heart of Urhobo land. My clan ancestor possibly got the name "Agbon" during his sojourn in Ika land. So I believe you when you said the original name of "Agbor" was "Agbon". As proves of our ancestral interactions, there are so many words, proverbs, customs, traditions my Urhobo "Agbon" and Ika "Agbor" still share in common. For instance, in tribal meetings we Urhobo (Agbon clan) greet "isiagware", Ika (Agbor) also greet "isiagware". Urhobo call God "Osonobruwe", Ika Agbor call God "Osanobuwe". Traditional town hall is called "ogwa" in Urhobo, Ika Agbor also call it "ogwa". Urhobo call town/kindred quarters "ogbe", Ika also call it "ogbe". The list is numerous. Even the ancient name of Agbor "Ominijie" also features in our folklores. Ominijie in Urhobo can literally be translated as "congregation of many communities/ people". Ominijie is an Edoid word.

Ancient Igbo speaking people had always occupied Western and Eastern sides of River Niger before the first Bini man walked the Earth.

So how can Agbor be part of benin yet they are building a most ....
I know you are not from Agbor reason why you made this ignorant assertion. This should be a simple mission: kindly go to Agbor and ask the indigenes where their ancestors originated from. The Dein of Agbor palace is also there to find out who were the founders of Agbor and cure yourself of ignorance.

No Ika man worth his onion will tell the world they originated from Bini.

Chief E.A Iduwe a proud Agbor man wrote an untainted history of Agbor and Ika where he affirmed that Ika and Agbor are older than Bini.

How can Ika originate from Bini, be next door to Bini, yet speak a clearly Igboid language?
Are you alright at all. Even the Ikas in Edo state like Igbanke and Owariuzo cannot speak or understand Bini. They speak Igboid language and would effortlessly communicate with an Igbo man in Onitsha than with a Bini man living next door to them.

Don't be silly.

We know the relationship between the western Igbos and Edo/Edoids were not one way traffic

Many families in Anioma originated from Edo ,just as many families in Edo originated from Anioma.
However, while you Edoids maintain that you remain Edo despite having assimilated many Igbo speaking groups in your midst, you have refused to let Anioma stay Igbo, just because they assimilated some Edo people.
Does it make sense to you?

The Edo migrants in Anioma met aboriginal Igbo speaking groups there who acculturated them and made them Igbo speakers. These Edoid elements has therefore by this fact ceased to be Edo but Igbo. In similar manner, many Igbo speaking groups from Anioma and even as far as Anambra migrated into Edolands and became assimilated by indigenous Edo people they met there. These families no longer speak Igbo and don't bear Igbo names, and therefore has become Edo despite their migration from Igbo speaking territories.
You don't see Igbos trying to claim them and you don't see them trying to cause problems to their Edo hosts by chanting that they originated from Igbo land and therefore not Edoids or Edo, despite the fact that they had been assimilated as Edos and now speak Edo as first language.

If your in-law from Ezi migrated from Bini, its no big deal. It means he was an Edo man who migrated into Igbo speaking town called Ezi and became acculturated as Igbo by the indigenes he met on ground. What is the big deal in that? If he doesn't want to remain Igbo, why can't he migrate back to part of Edoland where his ancestors migrated to Ezi from?
Why come to another man land and start taking the accommodation given to you for granted by instigating identity crisis?
