Why would they?Asking for a simple rise in minimum wage is just the right thing to do in these times we are. This isn't socialism..A $15 minimum wage is okay.. Like it was raised in Nigeria 2019 and some states like Oyo and others pay while some almost 20 states are still not paying yet their leaders live extravagant lives

Bunch of Bastards

Exactly I remember in 2009 when Obama wanted to increase it, Republicans were shouting that it would cause inflation bla bla

Inflation is constant, the price of things must go up

Same as automation, it is constant. Development of tech to replace human is going to happen at a particular time

Till then, let's pay people livable wages. This same person that don't want to increase wage, don't want to do universal healthcare, believes education should be kept expensive, believes if you are pregnant you must have the baby all while opposing increase in wage

In Pennsylvania for example, both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia are cities in PA

minimum wage generally in PA is 7.50, but in Philadelphia it's $14 while in Pittsburgh is 7.50

Big mac in both places is the same amount $4.00

Now if an uneducated single woman has a baby or two kids

At least she would want to stay in a two-bedroom, for comfort and convenience

Both Philly and Pittsburgh have the same average in two bedroom cost

So a woman in Philly can basically do 1 job on a 40 hr shift, paying $15 and pay for her two-bedroom comfortably and do something tangible with the rest, leaving the other job she had to do to meet up for another person

While in Pittsburgh at 7.50, if she works 40 hour week, she can't even pay rent, so she has to work two jobs and gigs to meet up.

people that understand economics should understand where I am coming from.

Increasing the minimum wage doesn't mean the person would start buying properties, most likely the person is going to spend all of that money back into the economy. By feeding, paying debts, paying loans, paying rent. And still, have a little something to save for a major health issue

As we know, almost everyone in America is one health problem away from going bankrupt in America

Three things that bankrupt people fast in America is, health care, divorce and various baby mamas

As more corrupt and treasonous stories of trump keep coming out, the GOP senate is now at a crossroads. Will they vote not to convict trump and lose out in 2022 and ultimately in 2024 again? Siding with trump means you don't value democracy or you just want a dictatorship. How many gop politicians will run on that message?
They should just vote to convict him and throw him away. trump was a disastrous criminal who should never be allowed near any office again, even if it's the local alderman.

Breaking gung hoo story, please read it...

According to inflation, it should be around $25

Biden proposing $15, I don't think it's a one-time thing

I think it's a gradual increase. Look up how minimum wage moved

I believe it would most like move now too I think $9-10

in coming years it should get to $15

So people can ease into it

Money is a fiat paper note that is derived from IOUs via fractional reserve ratios and form national currencies leading to debt and inflation

The wages themselves would be debt imposed on the citizens leading to inflation

So what did it gain coupled with the loss of jobs

Exactly.A living wage is what is being asked for..In these times,A $15 wage is perfect for an average American..When the minimum wage was increased in Nigeria,I know so many families that were able to afford most things they could not afford before..It is simple mathematics, when you earn more, the money goes back to the Economy to the same economy that gave you and it keeps on rotating and everyone is happy..Happier people,Happier families

It is those so called people who hate the middle class and poor people that will be against it..It is simple as ABC

It's been over 12 hours since news broke of trump's plot to remove then acting AG so he can tamper with Georgia votes. But do you hear any trump's press sec or publicist coming to defend him? Past presidents do have them and they quickly set the record straight when they are involved in news. But trump is alone and no one wants to even defend him on the record.

I can't even imagine how tough it must be say for a single parent household working in a place like Pittsburgh at the current $7.50 an hour. Cost of childcare alone is (see image below).
How much is now left for rent, bills, feeding, financial obligations e.t.c.
