Where did you copied this from? from wikipedia right? lol ,you forget that a true wakirike son like me is here on nairaland so your whatever will not fly. for starters, the likes of Ogu/Bolo, Okochiri ama, okuru ama, Oba ama, George ama, Ibaka ama, isaka ama, ikiriko am, all have ijaw roots. So them speaking igbo is something that is impossible. Now let me address the second part. The likes of Amadi ama, abuloma am, okujagu ama, etc also have ijaw roots.
But the thing is,they interacts with stangers more than their counterparts which allows them to borrowed words from their strangers hands.
I'll give you an example,the word Imama is a borrowed word for thank you doesn't mean imama is thank you in Okrika.

Iyo, our elders all understand Igbo. I don't know about new generations. Maybe less so on Koniju side but we cannot deny that Okrika took in plenty Igbo migration over the slave trade and palm oil trade and our population tripled over this period with most new entrants from Igbo land and many intermarriages. Founder of Ogan Ama is one of such - Chief Ilalamoku Chukwukere Ogan, and many of the Ado clans compounds and Waris were headed by people with some Igbo root. This is conveniently overlooked and rightly so, because we are one people under the banner of Wakirike and once you are an Okrika man, you are an Okrika man regardless of your root or origin.

However I notice that new generation dropped Igbo as second language, and focused more on Wakirike language which is a good thing, with English predominantly taking over as second language. However most Kirike men or women in early 20th century must speak Igbo as a condition of going to market in upland. And many married from there in that period also. We also had many slaves from there 50 years prior, all of whom blended into Okrika society. Maybe you can count all your ancestors as pure Okrika blood, or your history is not documented, but a lot of Kirike people who can trace their ancestry will trace some of their ancestors back to Igbo land.

Ogu Bolo was a fishing village so they don't need to. Kirike town is a trading port and you cannot escape Igbo influence there. After the kidnap of Ibanichuka, my great-great-grandfather was regent of Okrika and his Wari contained more slaves than freemen. I even stumbled across an interview with one of his slaves from Umahia some years back. All those slaves and their descendants are now Kirike from George ama so you can assume that by blood, there is more Igbo blood in George than native. Same for every trading Ama in Okrika who comprise the bulk of our population. Only those who stuck to traditional fishing occupation can claim to be fully native in blood.

Okrika population more than tripled over the palm oil trade period, so you can guess where that extra population came from - Igbo land. The same is true for Kalabari, Nembe, Brass and Ibani but in the case of Okrika and Kalabari, our language was never overwhelmed unlike Ibani who took more immigrants. Ibani population was only 3,000 before they started trading. By the time they finished trading, Igbo immigration had overwhelmed their native population. One of the arguments enemies of the King of Nembe used to make against him is he is descended from Igbos. That goes to show you the extent of Igbo migration to Ijaw City-States during Palm Oil trade.
