I hope the fees will be affordable for his congregation. Infrastructure is good o. Building a citadel of learning is awesome. But the motive behind it is what we should be concerned about. What is the motive? |

Not bad building an established whatever it is, citadel. But when people of average income can't bet subsidised payments or its not affordable, what then is the proof of faith? As for motive, we won't expose inner details least the kingdom suffers disrepute in the process. But the spiritually mature should weigh the motives why we consistently avoid spending a penny to take care of the needy even to ministerial level but spend zillions on cement. It's only a place of reasoning the spiritually free and mature would ponder over. May their Kingdom remain forever. Not at shading against anyone. But the motives the motives. May God build His church |

obstead200: First, you must know that I am not countering your opinion. But I also must let you know that, beyond being in the industry, I am also a Research Student in one of the Premier Universities I mentioned. I have been into research and publication for about 5 years through which I have carried out (and carrying out) my advanced degree. I worked with, referred to, and reviewed a lot of leading research works in Engineering (Materials) from local researchers and I if I must state in fact, then I must say that, Covenant university has not had any mention in any citable work that worth the salt. That is my own observation. |

Chii59: Christianity thrives on "mockery"...That's what the bible says "God uses the FOOLISH things of this world to confound the wise . Have you not noticed that the more you criticise these men of God the greater they get. The greater the mockery the greater they get. The budget of some of these church ministries now compete with the nation's budget Abeg I beg you in the name of God ,insult me please !!! |

DenreleDave:Worship God and not the man. Money is vanity. Cannot give eternal life. If he likes let him charge 10m a term, the cash cannot guarantee life. I remember mission schools (catholic, lutheran, methodist) scattered all over in the 80s with quality education. Most of them today are products of mission schools! How much did they pay to attend? Worship God not the man |

RedPanthar: Abeg! Is it only negative histories of the church they report to you on daily basis or are you just being pained because of any good news from the church? Watch the company of people you move with so you can at least be happy once in a year to anything coming out from man of God. Christianity is act of faith, he is leaving his life to please God that called him and leaving a legacy behind when he dies. He doesn't need to do anything to please you, keep your respect to your pocket. He blesses millions of people directly and indirectly unannounced because of law of the Bible. He has foundation that helps people across africa and even sponsors many in the so call CU and Landmark universities. Even, if you are born as a wailer, you should have at least a moment of appreciation once in a year. If he builds schools you can't afford, pray to God to change your poor status so you can afford to pay for it instead of making 'nagging and wailing' your birthright. Be happy when people are doing great, everything is not just to confirm and bitter to anything good news. Poverty is by category, even if school is allowed to pay N2000 per semester, many will still not be able to afford it. Government even identified those to be paid N5000 on monthly basis; imagine those who are not even identified and even more poorers. Lowering school fees is not the only viable solutions if you demand quality education, pray for God to change your status instead of being bittered and jealous of every good thing. I am not his church member, but give it to him, he is trying his best as a man and stick to his practical faith demonstration Christianity. He is living in the realm of faith to get things done without borrowing money or denting his image when people like you are just raising yourself as 21st century wailers. He controls lots of best brains academically more knowledgeable than you in his church like judges, engineers, doctors, accountants and professors who would have reported him for any financial misdeed. If you know he doesn't do well as Christian, start your own church and do what you think will please God instead of running him down with your wailing posts |

lequama10: First, I wouldn't have responded to your type. But I won't find it easy leaving a fellow human in the gutters. Now dear boy, I don't deal with "friends" to know someone. If you care to know, by God's grace in recent time of my practice with ******* ***** Ltd I've been a Supervisor who have had more than 50 graduate, junior and senior Engineers pass under me. Fortunately, more than 40% of these guys are from private universities (because they simply knew someone that knows the chairman) specifically from Covenant and Babcock. Being in this position means, you don't have to judge if they are good or not by "what Papa says" or by "what people say" or by "what their class of degree says" or "what those rankings" says but by PERFORMANCE. Well, if you think I came to such conclusions because I am a product of a Public University, well, it's your opinion. But the fact still remains that, their productivity or output intellectually is very very low compared to their counterpart. Now, go and grab your feeding bottle. |

badman007: I understand UBE good and well. Great for primary school, horrible for secondary school. Government funded, high population, secondary schools does not work. Socialist programs do not work. Schools are to be ran like businesses. The best universities in the world are ran like businesses.. if not you will have lack luster programs, lack luster teachers, and poorly designed programs. However, like a simpleton you think free is good. |

In 2018, Federal Ministry of Science and Technology awarded the school first position in innovative technology among all universities in Nigeria. The school was placed third in the 2017 edition in 2016, Africa Leadership Magazine listed Covenant University as one of the universities of excellence to be honoured in South Africa Covenant Enactus emerged 2nd position at 2018 National Competition. This is just peculiar to my alma mater. You know why you never knew all this? It's because they don't have a Papa who speaks before more than 50,000 people every Sunday to market his university. It is also because they don't have any budget for "Marketing" as how your private university do have a good percent of their budget on that. So, leave what your Papa says. You'll get to understand better. For now, where is your feeding ? |

If CU is such a crap school than the apple falls short from the tree. this is all that matters to me became Nigeria's first representative in the global competition doesn't say any other university sir! How much did majority of their students pay for primary and secondary Education? You read all these books without understanding simple things in front of your face. Education in the responsibility of Government. The half backed education you received should not be based on the money In your fathers pocket or social connectionS. Every Nigerian child deserves quality education. UK has 98% Literacy Rate with fantastic student loan system and NHS that works but Your oversabi.... Re: Faith Academy: Secondary School Campus By Bishop David Oyedepo by Theoutsider: 10:51am On Jan 27, 2021 |
badman007: LOL.. you seem to have a problem with private schools. Universal basic anything is bad... government do not provide the best schools... private schools do. Those schools in the UK that are public, majority of the students are from private primary schools same with Japan and China. The chance of public school students getting in are low because private schools equal best teachers. All the schools you talk about you STILL have to pay tuition so they are not TRUE UBE schools donkey lips. They are public schools that only well off parents with money can put their kids in. Same with hospitals. Private hospitals are far better than government own hospitals. You seem not to get it.. governments can only pay for so much... you are focused on one or two universities that the government spends majority of it money on to look good on the global stage while they put little to no money in schools that really need money. You simple can not see the forest beyond the trees.. simpleton. |

Markapela77:As I said, your education is subpar, if it wasn't you would have been taught in basic economics that people just don't pull up pricing from their arses, but do so as a result of cost of production. This is why many of you are unemployable. Go and do research you won't do. How much is the budget of Covenant and divide it per the number of students they have, and maybe your lifeless brain would receive life. Let me help you a little. The cost of production (annual expenditure) for Covenant is 7 billion naira per annum according to stears.ng. They have 7,000 students. Now do the math. But let me still help you again. The answer is N1, 000,000. This means covenant spends 1 million to educate one student. Which means it is not a profitable venture yet, as the school fees hovers around N900,000 - N1.100,000 per annum. 2 Likes 1 Share |
