Pictures of pro-government/anti-ISIS Bedouin militias in North Sinai, including IED discoveries that they purportedly made. Since the IEDs aren't rigged to detonate, it mightbe a cache. 2 Likes

cutievik: Again, most of us don't understand governance and how government works. "Doing nothing" is a very crucial tool government all over the uses either to buy time or to let the issue die a natural death. How and when it is used is another issue entirely( Nigerian government might or might not be using it properly, we can't know for sure). Every action taken by government has effects(negative & positive) and repercussions. There are people who weigh the effects of this actions and policies to determine whether they are necessary or required. Another government tool is silence and this administration(the presidency majorly) has used it thoroughly. Though it has had several negative effects, it has also had several positive effects. 5 Likes |

SamuelAnyawu: I hope they heed before it's too late(that's if it's not even too late), south east can easily become like borno in just 2 years. The Government is really messing up, they had the easy chance to end all of this then but still bleeped up. I pray there won't be violence in the east but I doubt it. 1 Like 1 Share |

Seems the ESN prob was a mad success for them. The Nigerian military needs to take eyes in the sky as a priority. Imagine the guts, rolling around with AK's in SUV's doing street fighting with the NA? Really? With proper eyes in the sky, set up a cluster of small chase teams and funnel them to other receiving teams. The earlier we know that this is not a drill. The better. I'm beginning to think there is nothing like deterrence again in the country 4 Likes 1 Share |

EricBraven: Others will dance for them, unfortunately. Poor people don’t start wars, poor people complain then fight in wars organised by wealthier individuals, organisations and forign Nations for themselves, exploiting those poor people’s complaints. In many instances the poor don’t even complain, preferring or obliged by circumstances to concentrate on the work at hand in order to feed themselves, families or communities. The wealthier individuals, organisations and foreign Nations comes along and point out to these poor their supposed suffering in comparison to the better available to them if they would but rise up. Poor people dont have the means to fight wars. The cost of a single Ak would provide the means to start good business for many a poor individual brainwashed by the better off to pick up that Ak not to mention the additional cost of ammunition, fatigue, food maintenance etc. 2 Likes |

upko: You can't give what you don't have. Did you see any police presence yesterday.? Or you wanna say no police outfit had jurisdiction Over that town.? The NPF is down the drain. Understand that fact and have peace of mind. Leave that town for NPF to handle and it will fall under a week. This is not a drill bro. This guy's have tasted the waters and would be back to swim. If we keep being simps around armed groups, we are only going to continue looking sexy. 1 Like |

Sadique Abubakar has written his name with a Golden ink. Unarguably the best Air Chief in Nigeria's history, the incoming CAS will be under alot of pressure to match his feat. I think he should have being appointed the CDS(He deserves it) but the power that be knows what's best. Buratai also did well save for human rights records under his watch as for CNS, No comment. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Major Gen. L.E.O Irabor was a former theater commander of operation lafiya dole, so we should see improvement on the counterinsurgency war. Through his experience and the challenges he faced during his time as the theater commander should translate to something meaningful for the troops of operation lafiya dole. 3 Likes |

It is even more surprising that the new COAS, Major general I Atrahiru was also a theater commander of operation lafiya dole. |

To top it off, the new chief of Air staff participated in air operations in North East, was the Air component commander of operation Zaman lafiya/lafiya dole and also served as acting deputy air component commander of operation lafiya dole. He also participated in missions in Mali. 2 Likes |
