not only me. you can too

you're not getting it. What do you really want?
Why do you want to leave a 500k paying job for Canada student Visa? Is it because everyone is going abroad you also want to? What are your plans? Nigeria is getting worse by the day, again I ask what do you want?

Good day everyone.
I soft landed in Alberta, Canada last year, I'll be coming back in few months time, by then, I'll be like 6 months pregnant.
Is getting a job possible, also does the Alberta health card cover child birth?, and will it be easy to get a Doctor to attend to me while I'm already in my 6th month.
Thanks for replying.

They are confused as well. It’s a government directive so they have to comply even though most of the countries they operate from don’t do such tests at their airports. They may have to move customers to Air France where convenient. As at yesterday, they said they’re looking at ‘if the test can be done at the airport (in conjunction with one of the private labs).’

slushy:
So where are you supposed to do the test? At the airport? Also is your COPR before or after March 18?

Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by slushy: 9:24am On Jan 26, 2021
Yes. KLM Nigeria has now issued a circular on the testing. You can get the 4 hours test at the airport. The cost is 28k. They also included a link where you can register before that day or you can also pay at the airport. Also was your PPR approved after 18 March?

Hello,

Is it a good idea to leave a 500k/month business in Nigeria to relocate to Canada via student visa?

No, it is not a good idea.

Hello everyone, I landed Canada about 13 days ago, so about to end my quarantine.

I am in Toronto and would love to be added to a Nigerian WhatsApp group.

Please if you belong to any WhatsApp group for new students/immigrants in Canada, add me.

I am alone here and I need as much support (information) so I don't make mistakes.

Thank you.

Good day all,
I need your candid advice.

I have a BSc (2'1) and MSC (60 %) in Chemical Engineering and I intend to further my studies in Canada.

What Chances do I have in applying for a PhD degree using my MSc grade of 60 % as most of them are requesting for 70 - 80 %?

Does this mean that I have to apply for MSc afresh in Canada and make the required grades for PhD? How does this affect my student visa chances?

The Major aim is to get PR and at the same time, advance my studies.

Any contributions will be duly appreciated.

Thanks

You shouldn't have any issues with these. The Alberta health card covers child birth all for free (except you opt for a private room after delivery). Walk into the closest clinic to you and register to have a family doctor. The family doctor would refer you to the nearest maternal clinic. The maternal clinic would manage your pregnancy till it is time for delivery and refer you to an hospital for delivery. You will surely have a pleasant experience!

if you have work experience why not go through the Skilled workers route than going through the student route, you'll spend more going through the student route except you have the cash to spend. Canadian schools are quite expensive for international student and fair enough for PR and citizens

Let’s chitchat about the Job situation in Canada. How fast or easy is it to find a good job in your desired profession/career?

The TRUTH Most people won’t tell you about jobs in Canada

NaijaCanadian28:

If you are a PR , it’s not that expensive. An average of 11k will be ok (and you can get grants and/or loan). On the other hand, international student fees can go as high as 40k. LPN is an over subscribed program and the requirements is usually a minimum of 60% in Maths, English, Biology and Physics/Chemistry (some schools skip Physics or chemistry). Because it’s an oversubscribed program, they end up choosing people with the highest scores so while the minimum is 60%(keep in mind that some schools require 70%), it doesn’t guarantee admission. I don’t think it will really matters if you graduated with third class, if you have the required score in the courses I stated above, you should be fine. You also need to carry out a course by course evaluation of your degree and /or diploma(depending on the one you want to use) since you schooled outside Canada(most schools accept WES).

Myself as a case study for the bolded reply.
I have a 3rd in Physiology, 2009, and a PGD(biomedical engineering) in progress.
I found out that most universities for accelerated Nursing programs require your first degree from last 4 yrs while some 10 yrs which my profile doesn't qualify for.

Some perquisites are required which begets the reasons for my worries. Are they courses done during undergraduate or courses done specially for the admission?

Since the programme requires latest from 10yrs undergraduate degree, can I still qualify for the perquisites or writing perquisites exam is what I need? And would the PGD make an impact for the admission?
Primary reason for the PGD was for 2nd degree for EE but another programme has served that purpose. I can discard the PGD not minding the time and money spent if it won't serve any purpose for the nursing as that is the career I would likely take up if opportunities show for migration.

PS:
I am still pre ITA but its needed for one to know what lies ahead and have a plan to forge ahead.

Hello, please how many hours wait did you have between toronto to edmonton? I’m seeing a flight with waiting time of 2hr 30mins in toronto to calgary and i’m not too sure if 2hrs will be enough time to finish the immigration check and still make it in time for the next flight.

BCkeys:
If your first place of landing in Canada is Toronto then that will be where your immigration check will be. Try to look for a flight with a long stop over between landing in Toronto and your flight to Edmonton. I missed my flight due to the long line at immigration and they connected me to the next available flight at no extra cost (I don't inow if that is how it always work )
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by DefyTheOdds: 5:01am On Jan 28, 2021
I came into edmonton last week (study permit) and my stopover between toronto and edmonton was 2 hrs 15 minutes. It took me less than 30 minutes to go through immigration (there was no line though so I didn't have to queue at any point)

Hello House. Please (to those who live in Toronto), I'm trying to decide whether to purchase freedom mobile or virgin mobile. I am leaning towards Virgin Mobile because I learnt Freedom mobile is a smaller network that obtains its services from larger networks. I don't know anyone who uses Virgin Mobile in Toronto. Please, which is the better network? Is Virgin or freedom mobile's service really good in Toronto? Please what's your experience with either one or both? Thanks in anticipation.
