It's today I believe it's wrong to hear one side of a story and pass judgment....
I was hundred percent aware of what really happened. The guy sugar coated the whole story because he knows Nigerians are the only set of humans that pass judgment after hearing one side of a story.
A normal human being is supposed to ask how possible it is for a military personnel to attack a civilian just because the civilian asked him a question. But no, brainless zombie Nigerians won't bother asking question before passing judgments.

In this life ,we are all the architect of our misfortune or our Fortune...
you went to a place where you are nothing is happening and you started asking some bruising questions to people you are not conversant with and you expect good from them ?
your cousin you wanted to visit doesn't have TV or decoder ?

If anyone can confirm this story, this young man can get justice. so sad, the evidence can't be denied. Equally, the Airforce seems to have disciplined officers from my experience, however there are bad eggs.

some persons have quoted me. and I need to make us reason this.
someone said it cus similar thing hasn't happened to me. Yes I have never in my life face security personnel's brutality. but this guy's story is pitiful and at the same time not adding up.

if he had said, "He thinks the reason for their attack was he guess he never greeted them before asking his question" it would have been understandable or some he was mistaken for someone else or he was not supposed to wear his shoe inside the centre or probably other reason. even if it a silly excuse it's welcome. so we can no pin why he was brutalise. or if those personnel had wanted to be alone in the viewing centre, cus he said the place was scanty. then there would have been someone at the door to turn him back.

and how was his NYSC cert seen to be seized. was he taking his cert everywhere he went cus I'm confused. they must know his housed to seize his cert. or the matter started from the camp ground, and they were just finding what and how to get hold of him.

he was later also attacked at the hospital. haba which mentality ill militey personnel will still go to the victims hospital bed to still want to kill him if something had not transpired before the football centre event.

Aside that, I was locked in their own cell (guardroom) for more than two days, while I was still on treatment, they took me away from the hospital, was nearly killed, even at their base.
No food, no medical care, infact cold and mosquitos dealt with me to the extent I felt I was going to die, despite that they still gave me cutlass to cut grasses and gave me broom to sweep their compound. and fetch water.
The parents of the Airforce guys got involved and together with our traditional rulers pleaded with our family to settle amicably without taking the case to court.

All this for asking a mere question. no na, no n this isn't adding up.

For every conflict, there is always motive and what transpired it.

this is a one sided story. so we can't just conclude yet

born in Nigeria or not. no military personnel will boldly Go to the hospital and attack their victims. or even handcuff them to the bed. if something hadn't transpired to warrant the level they went

*You seem not to understand the story. I have been in similar life threatening situation as this. I was assaulted by four(4) Nigerian Air Force personnels.

On that faithful day, I was seated in a small side bar having a drink with some friends including few Air force personnels that I knew. Some other five persons came into the bar as well. Immediately they came in, I noticed they were already drunk even holding a gin bottle and I was told they were Personnels in mofty.

I minded my business and was discussing with one of the guys seated with me. As I stood up from my chair, one of this drunk Personnels asked why I was looking at him and I replied, how? Immediately, this guy pickup a plastic chair and threw it at me. He came closer to hit me with his fist and we started struggling. His drunk colleagues joined him and I was almost lynched by this four drunken Air personnels. They used sticks, bottles and glasses to throw at me. I almost drowned because the back of the bar was swampy and we wrestled in it. NA GOD OH!

By the help of the personnels that were seated with me, I manage to escape to safety in a friend's car but we were still chased after. The windscreen and side glasses of the getaway car was destroyed with heavy hardcore block. Luckily, we lost them in the chase and I went immediately to make a report at their Air Provost office (Air Police).

Finally, they were summoned to the Provost office after an investigating officer was sent to the crime scene. Even at the Provost office, these four Air personnels were threatening me. I wasn't frightened but kept on writing my statement. After about 2days these guys started calling to plead for forgiveness. Eventually I forgave them and they paid for all that was damaged even the car.

*I am still thanking God that I survived that wicked act. So, please don't doubt anything you have read from this post. Everything he said is true...

His story adds up.

I had a similar experience at a viewing centre many years ago. I complained about a player poor play and an officer gave me a dirty slap and wanted to beat me up before some people intervened. I later discovered he was high on drugs. I quickly left the venue, incase his team lose. Power easily intoxicates these Military personnel.

in your case you complained bout a player's poor performance. let's remove soldier from the story. this has caused a lot of fight and death between normal civilians (drunk or not). so your own It more understandable that you complain which made he slap you. we now understand why. but this guy's own there was not why

If it was a civilian that beat up a military man you won't be asking for the other side of the story and they would have gone on a rampage, slaughtering the whole town but continue doing anything to defend your lawless people.

WHY WAS THE GUY ALMOST BEATEN TO DEATH?
for evrybody or almost everyone who had encountered this kind of situation. there was a "why"

why did the soldier slap you?
1. Becus he asked me why I was looking at him and I answer what did you say
2. at the beer parlour he was drunk, I passed in front of the tv, I received a slap
3. I told him his shoe was beautiful, he kicked me.

why would you say I am saying all like I'm not a Nigerian. I am a Nigerian even if I am not proud to be at the moment.

few years ago on my way back to school ( Lag to Edo) the bus I boarded was instantly stopped on the express way. I didn't even know was was happing I was sitting at the back, all I felt was a sudden push of the bus brakes. I lifted my face up to see through the windshield and behold a dark green and tilted glass Toyota Camry had double crossed us.
we were still inside the bus trying to figure out what next was going to happen. when a soldier stepped out of the driver set of the Carly, now heading toward our bus. the next thing was evrybody come down in the middle of a running expressway. at first nobody wanted to come down, we were just shouting story sir. before we knew it 4 of his colleagues had joined and we were still begging. he got furious and went into his car and brought out a dager. I didn't even know how I got out from the back out of the bus, I just found myself outside on the road. this time he was ready to inflict damage on the driver when his colleagues started pleading mad some old women in our bus.

so what am I trying to say here. with my story a working brain should know that something had lead to this incident. you can't judge from one person side of the story.

in my own case the driver had earlier at a junction insulted a man who is the friend of the soldier for blocking the road while talking to this same soldier( like the normal way Nigeria drivers stops on a tight road to greet).

so something much have happened in this guys case. a mentally ill soldier cannot be bold enough to still visit his victim in his hospital to kill him. even if he's high on something.

Whilst not trying to discredit your analogy, I still feel its necessary for you to understand that a woman has no fury compared to a soldier high on drugs. God saved me from being raped by a soldier who was high on drugs. My saving grace was that their checkpoint was positioned in front of the government house, so as the heat was on, the governor's convoy approached and I used that opportunity to run to a save distance. A girl in Riyom I think (Plateau) wasn't that lucky. She was raped. My sisters would have been late today and their offense would have been that they refused to attach "sir" when greeting the morally drunk man... These are just a few of the injustices carried out by these people. I am however, not ruling out the sad woes they also suffer, BUT when you hear stories such as this one, then be rest assured that it is true.

PS
If we are to carry daggers for every individual who wrongs us, then wouldn't we all be dead?

I put it to you that quite a number of our military personnel suffer from PTSD and Dementia. I think there should be some sort of evaluation. Those who have been to the war front should be given an honorary retirement.

ANSWER THIS QUESTION
WHY WAS THE GUY ALMOST BEATEN TO DEATH?
for evrybody or almost everyone who had encountered this kind of situation. there was a "why"

why did the soldier slap you?
1. Becus he asked me why I was looking at him and I answer what did you say
2. at the beer parlour he was drunk, I passed in front of the tv, I received a slap
3. I told him his shoe was beautiful, he kicked me.

now if you were ask why in this 3 examples a working brain can deduct why the incidence had occurred.

SO NOW. WHY WAS THIS GUYS NEARLY BEATEN TO DEATH
abeg we no fit talk for military Mata again. e don tire me.
but there's this feeling in me that doesn't believe the guy's story. how would they just attack you for no just cause, all bcus u just asked if the centre won't show the soccer match?
he asked one of he guys seated and the next thing is he kicked you on the check for asking if they won't show the game?. hmmm, there's something under the cooking spoon that hasn't been checked, if not the oil on top would have poured down.

Let's not jump into conclusion my fellow elders. let wait for the gods to speak to ezemo

some persons have quoted me. and I need to make us reason this.
someone said it cus similar thing hasn't happened to me.

For every conflict, there is always motive and what transpired it.

this is a one sided story. so we can't just conclude yet

why would you say I am saying all like I'm not a Nigerian.

Does Niggeria as a whole add up?
A country where the law abiding citizens are punished and criminals are given free reign
A country where the docotrs are the ones who will kill you, people go to hospitals to die
Jungle justice is the only justice.
With all these why is it surprising that military personnel cant just get up and attack you. Was it not the same military personnel that stopped a student and raped her?
