In a 0-0 game with 80% possession, it's not beyond reason to give the MOTM to a deep lying midfielder given they controlled possession but the forwards could not score.

That is not my concern though. My concern is Havertz score.

Exactly. We were attacking space as well and also the players were calm with the ball on their feet. Only the final third was not sharp enough but i believe Tuchel will do well in the end.

New era. New manager.

1st half : Some painstaking, uber patient build up, you would think that they were playing in slow motion.

2nd half: Improved performance, we didn't just rely on cross and nod, we tried playing in between the lines, passed the ball faster and the hunger to win the ball back quickly was evident. Havertz could have won it.

Best player I think was CHO, his best game so far. He is just missing that final decisive pass to up his game but his work ethic has definitely improved.

Chiwell definitely struggled and good to see we had a manager who actually reads the game.
Ziyech didn't do much and was not surprised he got substituted.

Tuchel failed to win his first match (not happy about that at all) but surely everyone can see the improvement.
Looking forward to the next match.

The 3-4-3, coupled with the choice to play many experienced players, was to get a result. Avoiding defeat was the most important thing today, and I guess he felt the experienced heads were the best bet.

I think he will go back to 4-3-3, or maybe 4-2-3-1 later. And I don't think CHO will bench James in the long run. I'm guessing his choice was due to CHO's pace.

No doubt, it was a good result.

But remember Conte used this same 3-4-3 to go on a 13 game winning streak till we got found out and struggled. I won't be comfortable if 3-4-3 becomes our primary formation. It should be used when needed, depending on the opponent. Or we can tweak to it during a match.

Unless he improves, Chilwell will struggle with this formation. Alonso can even bench him.
