What exactly does IPOB want? We need to know that before any negotiation can begin.

Is it cessation? That isn't negotiable.
Is it restructuring? They should demand their representatives and senators push for it in the national assembly.

If it is about other things, you can state them and we can discuss here.
THEIR POSITION IS CLEAR, BIAFRA....So i think Government can come in negotiate autonomy or confederacy ...but they want Biafra

MUTERIKA:
Either the government or ESN is doing IGG (initial gragra), it is better to seperate the sinners from the innocent so as to avoid stories that touch. When SUNDAY IGBOHO was doing his own some days back, i,was,at peace because i know it will be,very hard, for innocent yoruba or any other ethnic nationality to get caught in the cross fires of either the government or the activists. Sadly however, same cannot be said of this current events in the EAST where the NA is,wary of nearly every youth and ESN also without provocation has declared a war on the state(nigerian). As a future applicant for the armed forces, i seriously wish and hope it doesn't degenerate any further because with the little time i have spent in EAST since december , i can say that they are easy going and peace loving. Lastly, i think its about time EASTERNERS learn to differentiate between an OJUKWU and a NNAMDI, where the former declared cessation and dared the FG to a war, the latter is busy causing insurection and running uppandan. Know who values you and fights for you. SUNDAY IGBOHO did his without this much deaths and bloodshed, and we hope the resolutions and resolves made last long and end the herders/farmers crises. GOD BLESS THE EASTERN , WESTERN, SOUTHERN AND ABOVE ALL, CENTRAL NIGERIA.
why dont they give them their Biafra...the Igbo are tired

The major reason of Orlu Fracas...
By Emeka.
Two weeks ago, the fulani herdmen destroyed crops of Orlu farmers. They've been doing this before then.
The youths of Orlu protested by going into the farms to chase their cows away.
When the police was contacted by the northerners residing there, they came to harass the villagers and arrested many.
This made one of the Orlu youths to contact the ESN.
When they came, they went directly inside the bush and chased the herdsmen away....
Same northerners contacted police again over what happened.
The police came and enter the bush, there they had gun battle with ESN where three police collected it!. The rest ran away and went to Obinze barracks to report it.
On Friday last week, the zoo soldiers came and entered same bush, they had kwanta again and four soldiers collected it.
The rest ran away only to reinforce on Monday.
By then ESN has left Orlu back to their camp.
When the soldiers came on Monday, they started harassing people and shooting sporadically where some died of stray bullets.
This was happening until ESN came and they opened another fire where four more zoo soldiers collected it!!...
They ran away again only to return yesterday with military jets....
[/b]But finally, normalcy have returned in Orlu because the ESN threatened to attack their barracks if they continue to kill Orlu youths!..
The summary of the Friendly match.
ESN had 12 players while zoo army and police had over 50 players.
ESN 0:11 Zoo police&Army.
Unfortunately, the zoo soldiers killed 5 Orlu youths including a woman and a young boy!..
ESN have left Orlu since Monday with full complete 12 officers while the zoo police and Army lost 11 and over four Hilux including their Armored tank which was burnt.
Remember it's a friendly match!!?

This is not true and how sure are you about this information

If you know how useless the security architecture of this country is, you wouldn't doubt this...I have always said it, once an armed group arises; they always remain, the security agencies are so meddled up in politics and corruption to counter such no matter how little they are, the DSS seems to be worse of them all.

See the video clips bro, how many dead ESN did you find? Not one....They practically came to prove a point and unfornately it seems they did, for how long must we always lose men to touts?, where is an robust response to crisis such as this? Couldn't we have used better vehicles than Hilux?? Must we trade lives of gallant men for greed?

Well, we saw Oyigbo was a pathetic case study, we the NA cowardly oppressions against unarmed citizens, with also the seemly scenario as Orlu but no armed group, of course soilders proved their superiority. They were everywhere, gunshots from GPMG's all through the day and night, armoured APC, IFVs on patrols, Helicopter gunships on the air, Mi-35p was flying at low levels, the town was deserted, majorly aged and sick remained, yet gunshots rang out. Curfew imposed dusk to dawn for 3 whole weeks, innocent citizens couldn't feed, they were ruined...And the army has remained even up till now as I speak, though they have ceased their agitations.

Now we all saw an resistance in Orlu, some soilders dead, where is the show of force?
Friends, the earlier we reason out our personal security the better.

Does the police have any response to a State take over by unarmed groups such as these? No contegency plan, how can me and you be smarter than those men in charge of our security..We always bring out the best suggestions for each situation while they mop and do nothing. We heard the Minister of information, lier Mohamed, saying he's Orderly keeps him abreast of security situation in the country yet, he comes out to say "BHT's are defeated", can you see how messed up we are?

I Sadly imagined the Obineze barracks would have fallen....My gee, we are in a mess..who would save us??

Well, this is not about been patriots but the very truth.

Mate, you totally misinterpreted section 7 of the Armed Forces Act 2004.

grin Haba, try good habit, if you dont understand something, ask, instead of bad habit, attack writer and hope he defends himself by explaining what you wish to understand grin

I have full copy and read long ago, the Armed Forces Act Chapter A20 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.

We reviewed complex sections of interest with fellows in defence sector and constitutional lawyers.

You failed to make any interpretation mate, you only made a noise that nobody benefited from.

Now to help you interpret what you find confusing on CDS role in Nigeria's DHQ.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

You misinterpreted legal provisions of Part III sect. 7 sub-sect 1, 2 & 3. It says:

"Chief of Defence Staff shall, subject to general direction of the President and National Assembly, be vested with day to-day command and general superintendence of the Armed Forces.

Not withstanding, the President may make regulations as to the Service Chief in whom command over the respective service is vested;

Those regulations made under this section may provide for the duties, functions and powers of the Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Nigerian constitution boldly says duties functions powers of CDS are subject to directions of the President and regulated by the President, meaning he no longer has any role that the President takes away and prefers to give that role to others as in COAS CAS CNS to perform.
This is where you did not understand, causing your mistake.

Also this is how practically and traditionally all Nigerian Presidents subject and regulate CDS role into administrative + operational as I said, while field command of combat regiments, even procurement of equipment are always given to COAS CAS CNS, because constitution allows it to be done so by the boss of the CDS, Mr. President.

Next time when you read laws, try read complete sections, sub-sections and clauses that interpret each provision so that you avoid this type of legal mistake + misunderstanding.

Enjoy your evening mate.

Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Nobody: 5:43am On Jan 30, 2021
The immediate past Chief of Army Staff retired Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, says he left the Nigerian Army better than he met.

Buratai stated this in his valedictory speech during the Pulling Out Parade by the Nigerian Army on Friday in Abuja.

He said that the army under his watch had achieved a tremendous feat in the fight against insurgency and other security threats in the country.

He added that he ensured adequate training of personnel and enhancement of warfare capabilities of the army as well as prioritisation of personnel welfare.

“Today is a day of appreciation and not a stocktaking, but let me put on record that I left the Nigerian Army better than I met it.

“The Nigerian Army under my leadership was able to achieve a great feat in the fight against insurgency in the country.

“We have been experiencing pockets of threats here and there, but I can confidently say that no part of Nigeria is ceded to any terrorist group or criminals.

“The counter-insurgency operation is warfare new to Nigerian Army but over time, we have continued to devise means of tackling the ever-evolving dynamic nature of the threats in the country.

“The Nigerian Army has remained resolute in the discharge of its roles as enshrined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“I urge you all to continue to rise to the occasion,” he said.

Buratai said that while it was always necessary to say goodbye at a point in life, he said it was not easy to find the right word to say goodbye to the courageous and dedicated team that worked with him.

He said that the Nigerian Army also made giant strides in infrastructure development across the country.

Buratai commended the officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army for their dedication and loyalty, which he said assisted him to achieve so much in office.

The former COAS also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for the opportunity to serve the country as well as providing an enabling environment for him to succeed.

He also commended the effort of the government of Borno in the war against insurgency, assuring that the war would soon be a thing of the past.

He urged politicians to always leave military out of politics, adding that the country needed politicians who are statesmen to support the military in addressing the prevailing security challenges.

According to him, there is no gainsaying that there cannot be development without security and lack of development breeds insecurity.

He solicited support for the new Chief of Army Staff, Maj.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, to be able to deliver on his mandate.

Reports have it that Buratai was officially pulled out of service in a parade held in his honour at Mogadishu Cantonment, Asokoro, Abuja.

Dikwa was attack yesterday night... So how did the attack end up? The fight against insurgency no com get head or tail again.
Dreaded armed members of Boko Haram sect in large guntrsucks and motorcycles currently invaded Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno state engaging Military troops as hundreds residents flee into Bush for safety.

This attack is coming barely 24 hours after handing over the baton to the Newly appointed Chief of Army Staff, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru to his predecessor, General Yusuf Buratai (Rtd), which confirmed the purported video released by factional leader of the sect Abubakar Shekau that the New Service Chiefs cannot do anything good to end the over decade crisis.

Dikwa is in Borno Central, where its Shehu, His Royal Highness Dr. Abba Tor Masta II died last week after protracted illness.

The Late Shehu’s Palace was hitherto taken over and declared as Home Base to one of the Top Boko Haram Commander and his lieutenants some year back before Troops recover it after a fierce battle.

Sources and fleeing residents told our Correspondent on phone from Dikwa that the town is under series sporadic gunshots and explosions as they ran for their dear lives.

Dikwa is about 60km drive from Maiduguri, the state capital and a stone throw from Mafa Local Government Area where Governor Babagana Zulum hail from.

Do you know that I am igbo.... The truth is that Kanu is more popular than any politician and he is accepted... He doesn't want to contest an election.. he has the people he wants biafra and that is what it is... Unfortunately for Nigeria they are now armed...

Once you have militant inclined groups l ed not by democratic process but coercion, intimidation and disinformation.

You have a very big problem.

They are creating an atmosphere where any criticism against IPOB is met with violence and intimidation.

So Igbo people do not often express their opposing true view in public about Nnamdi and IPOB because of harassment and intimidation.

If Nnamdi was so popular why did he not contest election and win❓ ❓ ❓ That means every state and Federal legislator, Governor from the East will clamour for an Igbo independent state. It will be actualized without much contention.

However, will a landlocked nation that has thrived by integration, association, partnership and participative engagement in multi faceted types of business activities. To incredible success across Africa in particular and the world in general.

Ethiopia and Rwanda are landlocked and theey are far better run than Nigeria in all ramification

The best economies in europe Luxembourg, Switzerland, lichtenstein and Austria are all landlocked and better run

So trust igbo they would be better run... Stop begging for unity... They are not your gods they want to go let them go

To get to the port in Onitsha, ships will have to pass through Nigerian territory.

I feel Igbos that truly believe In this Biafra should create a political party. It should only be in the south east if is possible... Is main and only agenda should be occupying almost all the political position in the south east and getting the south east out of Nigeria.

For once, I agree with you. Especially on the purported "popularity" of Nnamdi Kanu

Not palatable but yes

Now will be the best time to crush the ESN. I want to believe that they are still in the early stages of their arms development. I prefer peaceful dialogue and a democratic process for the IPOB to air their views than via force of arms

Has anyone noticed that the BH Sect always plans a huge attack anytime there's a political move or change in Nigeria's defence ministry.

I at least expected our boys to be alert when Shekau came out boldly to dare the new service chiefs. I hope the attack at DIkwa was repelled

The greatest army on the world is the army of volunteers not conscripted ... Trust me the army ESN has are volunteer and theey are ready to die for an ideology and trust me these. Guys seem to be more cordinated from the way things are and theey are using. Guerilla approach we have seen how they engaged the army in Orlu and the impact

My dear, USA saw this in Vietnam

The only option left for Nigeria is negotiate... Remember that oil installation and oil pipeline pass through the length and breath of South Eastern Nigeria and if they can hurt these critical installation, the nation would be on their knees

Trust me.... They have learnt a whole lot of lesson from their war weary fathers on the 1970s....

So the best thing is negotiate with them or Pull out

Can Nigeria afford the new hostilities ? The answer is no... CAN ESN afford the new hostility considering the Diasporan funds .... Yes

But do we need this hostility ... No

All Nigeria need to do is be fair to igbo and give in

You don't get it, once an internation river gets or opens to ocean, there is law allowing all the litoral nations to access the water ways... It's called the Danube laws and cabotage laws...

That is the only thing that matters and I don't think Nigeria has the right to stop them ...the way egypy can't stop those in lower nile from accessing it and what is Nigerian territory

Bonny is an igbo speaking island, Opobo is an igbo speaking place and these are very close to Atlantic ....and you can't stop the biafra from accessing that ...trust me , if that happens that would be a renewed confrontation and we don't want that

What they need is concession ...and from the look of things Rivers would definitely align with igbo becuase 70% of the people there are igbo speaking from Ikwerre to Ndoni ,from Opobo to Ndoki

East, west North and South what we need is peace and equity

Let's work towards peace
