sharone21: Good morning ma'am, I've just gotten admission into a reputable school of nursing in Nigeria. My uncle that lives in the US for the more than 25years has called me to congratulate me for this feat, hence, he promised that I'd soon come and join him in the US soon... Even though I will be writing my ielts exams by 2023, I'd be preparing myself from now. Physically and mentally. But my fear is that, with all I've read on this thread, how will traveling to USA as a fresh nurse be feasible? Thanks ma in anticipation for your response 1 Like |

EbonyCy:Thank you ma'am. Someone warned me off that I f Nigerian army, so I went for Luth, and I got it. Classes haven't started in earnest due to covid 19, but we are resuming fully before the end of this month... For the cost, I've spent nothing less than ₦400k (school fees, miscellaneous, and other items we were told to buy). This excludes my personal belongings and pocket money.. 1 Like |

haiti007: Do you really need an IELTS? I have been meaning to ask this question. Won't a WASSCE Credit in English Language suffice? 1 Like |

I've been following your thread since last year and I must say, it's such a motivation for upcoming ones like me with similar dreams. Please I need some piece of advice concerning the next step to take. I'll be graduating from Nursing School by May and I'm weighing my options; - Getting my bsc through direct entry. (4 years) - Acquiring my RM certificate through post basic midwifery ( 1yr 6mths) and use the time to get prepared financially for the transition process. Honestly, the thought of spending for another 4 years in a Nigerian university is terrifying, considering the hassles attached to it. Please, I need a second opinion. Your response will be really appreciated. |

BlackNostra: You probably shouldn't spend more years in acquiring more degrees yet. Dedicate the next 1 year postgradaution to embarking in your UK journey - sit IELTS, do CBT, etc. BSc isn't needed in the UK. Your RN is all that's needed. While preparing for your UK transisition, get a job and begin build on experience. 8 Likes |

What is the best way for someone with B.Ed educational management in Nigeria to change career to nursing in the UK if the person is just about applying for tier 2 dependent visa? Also,is it necessary for the person to start writing WASSCE for the science courses? |

oluwamitomisin:Please is it possible to start processing immediately after graduating from the school of nursing. Though I have just started my diploma programme, but I wanted to be mentally prepared for what comes next after graduation.. But I've seen in most website that 2years of experience is always required while processing after school of nursing diploma 1 Like |

williams2600:You did not say what you are capable of doing and if any skills or qualification. And what you are presently doing in Nigeria. Just as one advised,Marry her first and do a court wedding before you go into investing in her. UK will definitely favour her more than Nigeria since she is a nurse and if she passes the required exams to practice in the UK. On whether it will favour you will depend on your circumstances in Nigeria. 1 Like |
