Good day experts !
Please I have my Wes reference number now . please how do I do it from here. What is the procedure? Thanks!

That's the first step in obtaining your Wes evaluation.
Did you pay for the WES ICAP COURSE BY COURSE EVALUATION?

After obtaining your reference number,
1) print the transcript request form they'll send to you and proceed to your university/college/polytechnic/college of education.
NB: ensure all your documents to be sent to Wes has the reference number written on them

2) go to exams and records and request for transcript to be sent to Wes.
(this will depend on your school). You may have to pay for courier service, transcript request and all that.
Ask fellow alumni.

3) if you have obtained your degree certificate, kindly upload it on WES page.
You'll see a tab for required documents.
You can only upload degree certificate while your transcript must be sent to them physically.

4) after they receive your transcript and confirm, they'll send back to your school (now electronically) for secondary verification.
Depending on your school, you may pay. And time frame varies greatly too.

5) after secondary verification, your status will change to.

"We're are processing your final evaluation, estimated date of completion is blablabla".

Hope I tried to answer your question.

All the best

Good morning wonderful people.

I'm applying for communication studies at California State University for fall 2021.

GRE and Toefl are exempted as the school advisor said.

I'll just like to know if I'm not missing anything. I'm about to get my transcript from school and upload the unofficial while the school sends the original directly.

This is the stage I am now. I'm inexperienced with this so any advice would suffice.

thanks

Good morning guys, a school is asking that I send my IELTS result through the British council. How do I do that and what is the cost? I can't see to find it anywhere online. Thanks

Good morning everyone.

Thank God I found an educative thread like this.

I just finished my MSc in Information Technology.

The question is, can I go back to Engineering for my PhD with MSc in Information Technology? My B.Eng is Computer Engineering.

Also, which of the Nigerian universities can I proceed with for my PhD if the event I'm unable to proceed to Engineering? I discovered most Nigeria universities don't offer information Technology at PhD level.

Your guidance is paramount to my next step as I await your response.

Happy weekend in advance!!!

It's good that you have confirmed that the school will be waiving GRE and TOEFL, but did they mention that you should send your original transcript before admission? I think many schools do make use of unofficial transcript for admission process after which they demand for official (original) if given admission.
So do confirm before you ask your school to send it in order to avoid unnecessary expense.

Get and confirm the availability of like/atleast 3 recommenders to help you with letters, and i think you can continue with the application if you have other materials like SOP.

How long does it take?

Guys, this question has been bothering me for sometime now. Someone should kindly answer.

If a person gains full scholarship to study in the U.S
1. How much is required to be in his personal account when applying for Visa.

2. Lets assume that person doesn't have enough funds, Is it possible to borrow the money from someone and have it transferred to his bank account, before submitting his statement of account.??

If he does that, is it going to pose any problem during the application??

I don't know you from anywhere, so my advice would be rather objective than sentimental.

You've done your masters here in Nigeria, which is laudable, it's also commendable that you want to further for your Ph.D - but why in Nigeria?

Are you ready to spend at least 7 years trying to get a doctoral degree which can be gotten within 3-5 years in a saner clime? Think rationally, aim for scholarships for your doctoral degree. You can get it. I don't know your grades, but I'm certain if you make it a goal to make the pH.D dream abroad a checklist then it will be achieved.

I won't advice anyone to school here in this country, at least not under this administration that have proven to not value education.

In recapitulation, brother/sister, aim higher and be ambitious. People go directly from BSc to pH.d in the United States, now you have a master's, which should be a advantage; why do you want to limit yourself? Please go for where your educational input will be appreciated. In 5 years time you'll be more proud of yourself.

There are processes you can take, begin by writing to professors in your research area, publish you MSc thesis, write GRE and TOEFL, submit your applications early. This will cost money but the reward at the end of the day is worth the financial considerations.

As I said earlier, I don't know you, but I deem it responsible to lend my advice to you.

I wish you well in your academic pursuit.

Please don't do your PhD in Nigeria. You have a masters already which increases your chances of getting fully funded PhD even if you graduated with 2.2 or 2.1

Question 1:To the best of my knowledge ( using unilag as an example) results for masters' are categorised into 2: distinction (>=4.5) and pass (<4.5) so what is your actual CGPA.

Question 2: generally for phd, the minimum GPA is 3.0 out of 4, (use WES or other free websites to have a rough estimates of your results) but in some schools you could still see universities where their minimum of 2.75 or so (i may be wrong)

So google and see, it may take some time but just be diligent and by God's grace you'll see the one that suit your requirements.

Check Discover student loan. But they will need you to have a co-signer who’s a US citizen or Legal Permanent Resident. The application takes approximately 3weeks depending on how fast you submit the documents. Search for them on google you’ll get all the info there.

Thanks for this vital information.

Does this include the total COA?

I'm not very sure, but If you login, there should be a space for UPGRADE REPORT.
Try seeing if you can follow the prompt to upgrade to Wes ICAP.

Yoi could also reach out to them via DM on Twitter @wescanada.
They're pretty responsive.

Or anyone here is thinking of applying or has applied there? For UG tho.
