@olasubomy but the heading of the letter states temporary resident and I applied for a study permit visa |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by sleekcheek: 10:24am On Feb 04, 2021 |
Study permit, work permit are both temporary residence applications (this means you are allowed in Canada for a certain/defined period of time) As for the charge 235 cad is the exact amount for a fresh study permit application, did you pay your fee for your previous study permit application? Celoexpress: Given that you don't have the new LOA from the school, you don't need to notify IRCC about the deferment. You can make it a routine to contact IRCC Nairobi office thrice a week, this might trigger them to attended to and finalize processing of your application. If you can renew your passport with a one year validity in Nigeria, it will save you the stress and cost of travelling to Ottawa for passport renewal. It will end in praise |

@Sleekcheek yes I did, got submission confirmation, got a receipt then I got my biometrics letter saying I should go for my bio8 I did my biometrics and I got the NSE request letter submitted that too. |

Andrewtee122: The letter states that you are owing the sum of 235 Cad. Did you ever at any point engage the service of anyone or company for immigration services? The letter says settle the debt and explain why you incurred and did not pay up. Just take time to reflect. I am sure it’s something that you will be able to sort out. |

Thank you so much for this sir. I was just about to complain that I was tired of checking my mails daily from IRCC and not hearing anything. I don't know if daily webforms is too much cause I still sent on Tuesday and I am tired of sending but now that you mentioned this, I will send again now. I just hope I really get a response soon so I know what I am doing. I suspect it is the recommend interview on my gcms that is delaying them or probably the info sharing they are doing but it is taking too long. I am really tired of refreshing mails all the time. glam12: So far I don’t think it is possible to fast track with VFS. Abuja office has been said to be faster with their processing unlike Lagos. Don’t know if that has changed now. We have had varied processing times, 2 week to a period of 1 month. Fingers crossed, your passport will get to you before your travel date. |

Teeprecious: Flywire corporation rates are very outrageous especially if you select the Naira option of making payment. You can choose the international bank transfer in USD option, the rate is moderate. It will end in praise |

@Yteem I did my application myself, the only time I used anyone was for the payment of my study permit and it was paid for and I got a submission confirmation and a receipt with it that's all I ever paid for, i remember when i wanted to submit my NSE requirements payment came up again but it didn't show anywhere for me to pay so I just clicked on next and submitted the NSE requirements. |

Good day all and thank you for all the swift responses. Please I need clarification. My passport expires by the end of Sep this year. I intend to use this passport to start my application while I renew and use the new one when I get my PPR. I hope I am in line and this has no implication whatsoever. Kindly advise. |

MrsYO: See my responses below; 1. Do you've a registered business in Nigeria or among the board of directors in any establishment in Nigeria? You can claim that due to the impact of COVID-19 which have had adverse effects on the global economy and several companies revenue, your employer laid-off workers so as to manage the available resources they have, cost-cutting, buyouts, and/or mergers. However, you've a business which you run in the interim while making preparations for you studies abroad. On the other hand, if you don't have any business, you can simply include your former employment documents in your application. 2. You don't have to mention the denial of your husband's SINP. This is a PNP application not a visa application. It will end in praise 3 Likes |

Teeprecious: You're on track, apply with the old passport and make plans towards renewing the passport in March. Once the passport has been renewed, you can send a copy of the updated Passport to the immigration. It will end in praise |

Andrewtee122: For the submission of NSE, there is no additional charge. This mail is a tricky and dicey one that should be handled with care. Could there have been an error from the person that paid for you? Can an application be submitted if payment is not made? Just wondering aloud with you to see what exactly could have triggered the mail. I think a letter of explanation stating that you made payment in respect of your application, also maybe attaching the receipt that you got when you submitted should be written and then send to them. A letter of explanation was requested for anyway. So just put your thoughts together with evidence that you have and send. Let’s also wait for more people to add to this. |

awys: Form A is 301naira to one CAD but this is subject to availability of what the govt supplies to the banks. Most banks already have backlogs of form A request and on queue waiting for Fx. Therefore, except one has plenty time to wait for the processing period, then one can use form A cos its the cheapest, but if there is a deadline,an alternative must be sought quickly.I have someone whose account is yet to be debited for form A done since 30th Dec. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by awys: 11:00am On Feb 04, 2021 |
@Frank Robbn 1 if one selects the international bank transfer in CAD which they charge extra 30cad dollars cuz I saw the options there can one still use the visa /MasterCard to pay which is in Naira and not USD |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by awys: 11:04am On Feb 04, 2021 |
Teeprecious:Am not even using the Form A I am looking for alternatives and USD black market rate is even higher |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Frankrobbn1: 11:05am On Feb 04, 2021 |
awys: There are different options when making use of Flywire Corporation for international tuition payment. There is an option that states you can make payment in USD with your dollar card and there is another that confirms that you can pay in USD through an international bank transfer. The international banks requires a swift code and the bank details which you will have to process using a FORM A. Apparently, most commercial banks are complaining that CBN has reported to have scarcity of forex to carry out international transactions. It takes over 7 to 8 weeks for payment to be made. At this juncture, your best option is to get someone abroad (preferably Canada) to make the payment on your behalf, while you send the equivalent in Naira to the person's account. I hope this information helps. It will end in praise 1 Like |

Elizdee: You will receive notification by SMS from VFS Global when your passport has been returned back to VFS by IRCC and ready for pickup. You can also track the progress of your passport online through the webpage of the courier you used to send the passport to VFS. What you would only notice on your GC Key is a counterfoil which indicates that your passport has been stamped. Congrats. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Frankrobbn1: 11:08am On Feb 04, 2021 |
awys: You can't use Naira Master Card to pay any amount that is higher than $100 per month. I think its only Access Bank that has a higher limit of $300, which is still very low. As earlier advised, your best option is to contact a trusted fellow abroad (preferably Canada) to assist you in making payment since you've a deadline from the University. It will end in praise |

AbiodunMobi2025: Your work reference letter should corroborate that you're being paid in Cash in your current place of work. The amount you earn on a monthly basis and per annum. This letter must be duly endorsed by the HR manager of the company. Also, include payment receipt/voucher and salary certificate to support your cash salary payment. It's highly advisable you present a bank statement from a commercial bank considering the new era of IRCC requesting for mybank statement certificate from Nigerian students after few weeks of applying for visa. I hope this information satisfies your enquiry. It will end in praise. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Frankrobbn1: 11:31am On Feb 04, 2021 |
Celoexpress: You're putting unnecessary pressure on yourself. Why not exercise a little more patience, and see if there will be any positive light from IRCC. Its true that your application has exceeded the standard processing times, however, always be positive about the process. I already advised you from the wisdom of my experiences on this thread for half a decade that "Recommend Interview" is not a death sentence and doesn't in any way have negative impact on your in progress application. As a matter of fact, the applicants I know with such eligibility assessment on their GCMS notes, have gotten approval, landed and began their studies in Canada. Due to the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic, IRCC do not conduct interviews whether for permanent resident application or work permit. Take a chill pill for your application is in good condition and will be finalized in no distant time. Let me know if you require further information. It will end in praise |
