they do it to us here in Uyo all the time and the pitch is one the best in Nigeria
Brother u just don't understand NPFL time wasting. Your high press is all they need to fall and act like they have been shot. Sometimes they fall without contact. They will roll so much that even u will start believing somebody kicked them.

My problem is that the refs stop play for all injuries and FIFA said it only must be stopped for head injuries. Time wasting is a major problem that the league must deal with.

Time wasting has greatly reduced especially this season. Speaking from the matches I've seen this season.

Bringing back what you said earlier, truly we must invest in coaches. We being individual clubs grin They're professional clubs for god sake, the NFF shouldn't have to be spoon feeding them.

U might not have seen it but it definitely is still here.

I didn't say to invest in coaches maybe it was Thegoodjoe and he could elaborate on that. I personally want clubs to do their homework and hire the best coaches. The recycling needs to stop. They need to take who they hire more seriously.

My point is a total change of our philosophy. If those in charge of the league can invest in running training programs for coaches to have better output with respect to style of play.

You can not play good possession football on poor pitches, so investing in these is also Paramount. This will encourage those who play good brands of football to succeed.

People should remember that the NFF and co. get money for these. It is not spoon feeding but doing their jobs.

We can move forward to raise players at home that will compete with overseas counterparts if we don't rebrand the local league in manner of play. This will build the kind of environment we need to nurture quality talents.

Meanwhile... From Morocco

OFFICIAL AND CONFIRMED!

Munir El Haddadi has been made eligible by FIFA to represent the Moroccan national team, almost seven years after making his Spain debut. Set to make his first appearance as an Atlas Lion next month in the AFCON 2021 qualifiers.

Morocco have finally gotten their man. smiley

Looks like they were able to bypass that little blip in the new rule that would have still stopped Munir from fulfilling his Moroccan International dream.

when Amaju first got elected as NFF president he spoke about ensuring our referees get trained when in hindsight the focus should have been on coaches. Coaching like you rightly noted is the bedrock of any successful national team but what's even our playing philosophy? have we researched our physic, environment, resources etc to give us a cutting edge and make us competitive at the international stage? why is that we suddenly stopped producing technical number 10s? is it because of the league that goes for directness and physicality that such has been coached out of our budding players? These are the kind of stuff our NFF leadership and technical committee need to be having a honest conversation about.

It's not enough to hire some random oyibo to come and coach our national team when the said oyibo doesn't match our playing philosophy but do we even know what is our philosophy? Once we get the answer to that important question then we will know how to train our coaches from junior to senior level along that path. even when we hire oyibo as a stop gap measure we will use philosophy as a basis for employing you and not just the person's CV.

Our style of play is similar to dutch and brazilian. Westerhoof (who is dutch) understood us well.
We already have a foundation laid by otto gloria the coach of the 1980 nations cup team who was brazilian. This is why we like dribblers.

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that English Premier League club West Brom are poised to offer Nigeria captain Ahmed Musa a contract after the winger impressed the coaching staff with his physical condition.

The free agent arrived in the United Kingdom on Tuesday morning but the scheduled tests were delayed because the Baggies were involved in Premier League action against Sheffield United.

Musa passed an in-depth fitness test conducted by West Brom's sports science and performance team at the training center in Walsall on Thursday, paving the way for him to thrash out a deal with the club.

The player's intermediary, Tony Harris is proposing a short-term deal with the possibility of extension at the end of the 2020-2021 season.

Although Musa has been inactive for club and country since November 17, 2020, he is in tip-top condition because he doesn't smoke, drink or party in clubs, and was training on his own in Nigeria before heading to the United Kingdom.

The 28-year-old was on the radar of clubs based in Saudi Arabia, China, Mexico, Turkey and Russia but chose West Brom because he wants to prove himself again in the Premier League.

Musa was Leicester City's record signing when he moved to the Foxes from CSKA Moscow in July 2016.

The reality is that Kelechi is an extreme confidence player and
inconsistent. It is not just his goal-scoring, but his touch and effort.
When he is confident, the touches are silky, he picks passes like a
#10, and closes down/fights to hold up the ball really well. The
problem is that, when he is off-form, it is not only that he misses some
chances, but his touch gets bouncy, he becomes static, and doesn't
work for the team. Maybe he just needs to go to a club where he more
valued as a starter and just gets to play through troubles. At Leicester,
the second his confidence leaves him, the boy is dropped to the bench
and the cycle repeats.

Copied
In summary he's an ordinary striker

The question is,

Do we have a philosophy?

I think those at the corridors of power of our football do not understand. The truth is I believe the blueprint is there. We just need to follow it.

1994 - 1996, we ruled the World of football. We were not the best but we could take on anybody. I mean anyone without fear but belief we will win.

What was similar with both sides? Dutch managers. Not only that, one of them was Tactical assistant to the other before taking over the team.

Clemens Westerhof and Bonfere Jo brought high quality playing pattern to the team and it suited the players.

What we need is to replicate the Dutch style pattern at all levels of play in our football. From the national teams to club teams.

This will help integration of players to club and even transfers out of the country.

Good pitches and coaching training at high quality.

Or he's simply not as good as many of us think...

Fortunately he is. Pellegrini knows genuine talent when he sees one. He spotted Nacho, gave him a chance and he flourished.

That is no mistake.

Nacho's problem hasn't do with the huge earnings at Leicester City.

Look at Angelino going on loan and flourishing at Leipzig. If he was on bench at City, you will say he is not good.

Nacho needs to go on loan to an offensive side that is ready to give him a run of games in the loan deal. Then he will perform.

Unfortunately, a move like that will require a pay cut and he is not ready to take it.

News about Africa's No.1 Goalie, Andre Onana. 1 year doping ban. But it was accidental. Really hope he can win the appeal and get back to the pitch much sooner. 1 year out of the game is a long long time.

I really feel for him, I hope the ban is reversed. I mean a goalie doesn't exert as much energy as outfield players on a normal day so why would he need performance enhancers in my opinion. The 1 year too much now, na cocaine he take? Btw, is he actually Africa's #1 or Mendy? And I no understand why Cameroon decided not to forgive Onana for turning down afcon at some point and made his cousin Fabrice Ondoa the #1 for their national team.

Nacho is not an elite talent. Talented but certainly not as much as he was hyped up to be.
Don't know why this should still be an argument in 2021...

Mendy ko... Mendy just joined Chelsea naa.
Onana has been Africa's best goalie for the past 3-4 seasons while doing it big for Ajax both in the Eredivisie and in the UCL. He also helped Ajax to the UCL semis in 2018/2019. The season where he, De Jong, De Ligt, Ziyech and co stunned Europe.

And Ondoa was Cameroon's number 1 at the 2017 Afcon. But at the 2019 Afcon, it was Onana and he's been their number 1 since then.

I happy for this guy make i no lie

He should be happy he is still 25

If he had choose to play for morocco since 2014 he should have nothing less than 50 caps at his young age

You have not yet pointed a reason why you think he is not a top talent.

Did you see his goal against Fulham? Nacho has the touch of quality. It is littered his whole career.

Did you see his turn and pass he gave to Madisson that led to Justin's goal? Is that not class?

If Nacho was in a side he plays week in week out and doing things like that regularly, he would be rated a top talent.

Being denied an opportunity does not mean the person will not excel if given the chance.
