Hello everyone. I'm about to start my student visa journey. I need clarification regarding financial requirements. I'm going for graduate certificate program and school fee is about 16k per year. Can I pay per semester? Also regarding visa application am I supposed to show evidence of my funding for the 2 years duration of my stay or just a year?

Got my study permit approved with a validity of three (3) years with my Brandon University admission so this isn't necessarily true.

Good afternoon, What's your course of study at Brandon?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Esmeob: 2:23pm On Feb 05, 2021
Hello everyone

My brother and I want to apply for study visa. He's doing a 1year masters course while I am going for undergraduate degree. The thing is we have the same sponsor. So what we plan to do is submit my dad's statement of account and retirement funds documents for his own proof of funds, then, use my mum's business documents and statement of account together with my dad's retirement funds documents for my own application. So, my dad will be his sponsor while both my parents will be used as sponsor for me.

We also plan to use two different land as proff of home ties for each of us.
He's going through the NSE route while I'm doing the normal route.

Please I want to know if we're on track or if this will reduce both our chances of getting approved.

Also, is it allowed to raise a webform to update my international passport as my new one will be coming in after my application.

Thank you for your responses in anticipation.

I guess it’s the new normal because I got the message too, if there were to be issues, they would have referred for more test not hand everything over to visa officer that will not bother to communicate personally.

Okay. Thanks a lot.

I really appreciate

JustMellow:

Hello Cuddles7,

Wait till the notes comes before considering changing his course. But during the wait, he may choose to play around schools in Canada offering management in health care/system.

If possible, the search should begin from Universities offering Graduate Diploma. I think Memorial offers Graduate Diploma in Toxicology, Pharmacology and the likes before moving forward to Colleges.

Best of Luck

Hello and welcome,
Your first should be directed to your school, they are the only one that can tell you if tuition fee is payable annually or otherwise. As for the second question, you only need to show tuition fee for one year.
Do not forget the $10k also for living expenses in CAD.

Good afternoon guys. I arrived Canada a few hours ago and still waiting for my connecting flight to Newfoundland.

The flight was lllloooonnngggg. Ethiopian airlines is so cheap and underrated. Please try it if you have time for the stopovers.

I know you can't generalize but the border officials and immigration personnels were super nice. The guy even came to the queue, took our documents (LOA, Tuition receipt, passport and the Declaration card we filled on the plane )and issued our permits without stress. When I went to check in my luggage, the attendants were so humble and attentive.

My guys don limme go Vancouver sha. Arriving St John's after midnight.

Still so speechless I don't know what else to say
Can i mail you please??

Gurus in the house, I need your urgent response. Someone said once application fee is paid & admission is given, one can get to Canada before payment of tuition fee. How true is this?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by sleekcheek: 6:15pm On Feb 05, 2021
This was possible pre Covid era but now one of the requirements they check at the point of entry is tuition receipt so at least payment of your first semester fee is required

Lekiboboe:

It all boils down to your Educational History/profile

- Minimum of 2.1 is the requirement to apply for Masters in Canada

- Educational Gap can be another factor , e.g someone who have bin away from Academics for the past 5 years or more might not be fit for a Masters Degree (based on VO)

if you graduated with a 2.2, a PG.cert in a Biology related program is your best shot.

Your Work Experience in teaching Biology is a boost to your Admission Chances

3) To your number 3-question on "Documents needed for Visa Application" , visit this link below
https://www.nairaland.com/6321900/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/216#98756712

- About documents needed to secure admission, it depends on the Admission requirements of the school you want to apply to.

Apart from conventional requirements like
TRANSCRIPT, CERTIFICATE OF HIGHEST DEGREE & SSCE RESULT (WAEC or NECO), some schools do require additional requirements e.g Cover Letter , Statement of interest, Resume/CV etc.

So check out the website of the school you want to apply to for more details on that

You can await more opinions/inputs from other members & gurus
.

Pls I am a 2.1 Information Technology graduate, I graduated in 2018 and currently working as a clerk in UAE, considering the fact that my work experience doesn’t tally with my educational background
1) What are my chances of getting a study visa if I apply for MSc in computer science or will it be better to apply in the field of my work experience?

To the best of my knowledge and what I read from this thread.
It is advisable for the main applicant to apply first to better chance and after getting TRV and begin your study over there, the spouse can apply for open work permit to come with the kids.

Hello guys, please I have a question. I recently applied for a one year PGD in Niagara College and I’m waiting on my admission letter. However, I am taking out time to read through the previous trends. I am confused on the difference between a study permit and TRV? Would I have to apply for this separately or are they one and the same.
Please, someone should direct me to a part of the trend where I can find answers or better still explain, I will truly appreciate.

Hello Dishydens,

Don't be confused, TRV is used to categorize Study Permit, Visit Visa, and Work Permit. If you're applying to come to Canada, you can apply to come as a TRV or PR (EE).

There are three broad immigration (visa) category to come to Canada:

1. Economic Immigration
2. Family Reunification
3. Humanitarian and Compassionate Consideration (H&C)

For the Economic and Family Immigration, there are:

a. Express Entry (EE)
b. Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
c. Quebec-selected Skill Worker Program
d. Start-up Visa Program
e. Caregiver Program/Pilot

Under the Work Permit visa category, there are:

a. Temporary Foreign Worker Program
b. International Mobility Program
c. International Experience Class

To understand more, you can research more the mentioned.

Best of Luck
