seunny4lif:I don't think so. Most banks open with 100 dollars. Uba even opens with 50 dollars and you can still withdraw everything afterwards, I made this enquiry as recent as yesterday as a matter of fact Went to Uba, gtb and access and they all have same procedures They don't just want you to open an account without an initial deposit. I don't know what you discussed with the Zenith bank official, but 1000 dollars is absurd. Kindly go back and verify requirements to open a domiciliary account 1 Like 1 Share |

jibbish: Before you outrightly call someone a liar, please consider the fact that their experience could be largely different from yours. The cbn indeed implemented policies that prevents direct transfer of cash to Nigerian bank accounts. This happened in November 2020 and I suspect it in response to the #Endsars protest. See, you can still recieve cash from abroad but just not in your account. You’ll have to go to bank, queue and the get it after showing your IDs |

erico2k2: it will take you less time and less explanation of you can tell me what the policy is all about, just summarize in 3 lines instead of writing Epistles telling me about how you are enjoying your imaginary Holiday. Cat fish, freshly tapped palwiine and all sorts of local and international food or drink are not luxury, there is nothing spectacular about you enjoying whatever, what i requested is just to explain the policy in 3 lines, only for you to bring out the Nigerian in you by been loud and braggard |

erico2k2: I have said it here, the problem with you guy's is that you want everything under the table. You took that money out of a bank in your country of residence, that same bank can wire you that money and you will get same in local currency, then you said you don't want local currency which is fine and you are not also cool with the rate, no issue as well, the same First bank that gave you a diasporan account will gladly open you a domiciliary account in seconds, data from existing account will be use,you can even walk into their london FBN UK office and open a proper domiciliary account and have it regularise when you visit Nigeria. If all those failed you or you are not cool with the rates as you said. The same money can be brought home in cash if you get liver, all you need to do is to declare at the exit point and show the proof that the cash was earn legitimately you will have a seamless passage, but the problem with most of you is that you always think you know it all,you always think everyone on Nairaland is a non entity. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Solatium:Why don't you just listen and learn to the diasporan for once all those you said up there are systems used 10 years ago You saying short cut, what short cut? Carry cash into 9ja are you serious? do we look l like Ghana Burgers? going the 1st bank UK is so old cos 12 years ago, I walked into their Uk branch I was told I needed £5k to open an account there, wen main street bank in the Uk takes £1 to open. BDC rate today is N650 and CBN is N518 if you were in my shoes who would you go for? I would like to state we in the Uk do not have any issues wiring money via 3rd party to our Nigerian bank account. the BDC in Nigeria have loads of Agents in the Uk licenced and you pay to them pay a transfer fee and the BDC in Nigeria credit your account within 5 mins in local currency and current market rate, I judge mine from abokifx Nigeria the way it is you are advising someone's son to carry live ££££ to aboki, chi, U nor get heart ohhhh 2 Likes |
