pope191: What can we do? The prices of cars these days is just so ridiculous especially Nigerian used cars. That is why I find it surprising that the price of used civic has remained stagnant and this in my opinion has made it a very wrong choice for the job. Come to think of it. When civic was selling at around 1.2m and corolla around 1.6/1.7 everyone said corolla was too costly and civic was just perfect . As of now that same civic now goes for that same 1.6m Imagine buying a vehicle at 1.6m toks minus cost of registration and plenty other miscellaneous expenses only to end up elling it 800k naija used after 1 year. What kind of depreciation is that? |

Crvrider: Strictly bolt ... Tbh I shuffle trip a lot o.....I try as much as possible that trip I embark on will atleast be 1k guarantee. So I pay attention to location when request pop up...I accept then run it on Gmap. I have my response if it's a trip I won't embark and some I cancel myself based on my activity percentage ratios. 2 Likes |

BAZ001: inDriver is not really a bad app. Study the terrain very well before accepting trips so you don't end up wasting time in traffic. That first hand knowledge of knowing where rider is going gives me inner peace, something uber can't offer. For me I don't think I'll last doing only uber for the entire day. 4 Likes |

Each time I read how government officials extort Uberbolt drivers, my heart bleeds. There’re many reasons why these things why we fall victims such as greed, misinformation and lack of concentration Am gonna try and be helpful on the part of misinformation Am gonna list some lastma/police/task force/local government touts hotspots On the island No parking and stopping on the entire stretch of marina and broad street, the only authorized drop off and pick up point for Uberbolt is oando filling station marina Also no stopping at CMS bus stop both in front of that church and under the foot bridge. No stopping or parking on the entire stretch of st Gregory’s road or any of the inner street off the street except you’re dropping Off a resident of that particular street, also no stopping or parking on the entire stretch of awolowo road ikoyi No parking along that ikoyi passport office road, you can drop off and wait a bit but don’t park and switch off your engine, they have eyes all around Also if you’re to park on those streets off Alfred rewane be very watchful and don’t sleep off because they patrol from time to time Eko hotel round about is another place to be very careful about, if you’re sharp you can quickly drop off there and move sharply Then another problem with Victoria island is that they’re many one way roads which the signs are hidden or not visible, I can’t vividly describe the streets here with texts but once you’re in VI and you’re trying to enter a street look out for signs or better still park and ask to be sure. The newly built traffic lights at 1st and 2nd roundabout in lekki is a bit confusing, if you’re trying to make a u-turn, look out for the correct sign and turn there, else those lastma and police officers are milking people dry on a daily basis, don’t fall victim pls. Ajah under bridge is also a hot spot From Abraham adesanya down to epe is a bit relaxed Now we come to mainland First on the list is Ikeja, during the day there’s no safe spot on Ikeja except the inner inner streets of GRA and Allen area, Ikeja is very notorious for traffic offenses so it’s better you avoid them but I’ll still share some hotspots Kodesoh street inwards GRA, if you’re not turning right towards airport road, don’t stay on the extreme right, it will be termed obstruction and watch out for the traffic light there, they change very fast Under bridge too,if you’re not sure where you’re going just stay in the middle lane, another thing to note if you must press your phone or receive calls around Ikeja be very watchful too and vigilant Ade niyi Jones to connect oba akran traffic light, pls don’t try and beat it because those task force policemen on bikes are always there and will give you a hot chase Airport road, for no reason whatsoever must you stop on the entire stretch of airport road from international down to local, don’t ever ever stop or park, if you wanna pick someone just drive into the car park and wait, don’t try to be smart about it If you’re to pick a rider at MM1 tell him or get to come in to the car park If you’re to pick at MM2 you can pick from the arrival pick up point or car park but make sure you don’t pick or drop off a rider when you’re on the zebra crossing, that offense alone Na 50k and most importantly don’t waste time while picking up, if you don’t see the rider yet keep moving and circle round back into the airport until you see him or her If you’re to pick at international airport tell the rider to come inside the car park not outside oh, it must be inside after the barrier else they will clamp and tow your car away Most importantly when you’re around Ikeja you should be very smart and watchful and don’t park anyhow Yaba is another hotspot that you don’t park anyhow on the streets except you go into the inner and isolated streets and also watch out for one way roads, another area notorious for one way roads is shomolu and bariga, I don’t really know much about those areas because I don’t go there Surulere The traffic light in front of stadium to turn into Alhaji masha road be very careful lastma guys are always on the prowl, there’s also a turning if you miss it don’t try and turn at the next one,if you’re caught no stories oh Also be careful around aguda area, there’re some no parking zones around there, even if you wanna park just be watchful and smart about it, the local government tours there no get joy at all So for now these are the ones I can easily remember, the rest places I hardly go to and if I go I don’t waste time and am very vigilant before I leave there Places like egbeda, agege, iyana ipaja, ayobo, ikotun, ikorodu, abule egbaland, ogba, somolu, bariga, igando I hardly go to these places Places where you rarely have issues are festac, ago palace way, mile 2,ajegunle,okoko,satellite town, iba Some other hot zones Alakija under bridge Apple junction(not always) Iganmu bridge That will be all for now Stay safe and God bless us all 35 Likes 5 Shares |

pope191: The hustle has changed and Coro is d game changer. E pain me say I don pay activation fee. I can’t deal with rider not wearing mask or safety conscious. I’m sure of 1star from two riders cos na war for them to wear mask and after all fight d guy put am for neck, of what use is d mask if na for neck. To crown it all d guy now picked my phone to admire it, na there I know say devil(Coro) dey use d guy to terrorize me. How una dey cope with riders and not wearing of mask? Though a company turn me to their delivery man today From opebi to iju, iju to eko hotels and eko to lekki I prefer only delivery and not human beings. Na money I dey find no be coro. 1 Like |

Even as an owner driver, the business get k-leg. You will hustle with your car 5 to 6 days a week, trying to save some money, suddenly, something will break down in the car and you will use almost 40% of your previous earnings to fix it and then, the race starts again. Meanwhile, Bolt and Uber sits pretty in their various offices collecting 20 and 25 percent commission respectively from the driver without owning a single car on the road. They all should put some cars on the road and know if they will still maintain this their shitty fares. Although Bolt still dey try in terms of bonuses after certain trips. My advice is - drive as much as possible while saving as much as possible, then, get out of this hustle. It's a back breaker. ekehopp: 13 Likes |

Felicity001: 1,950 for a trip of almost an hour is more than any driver can bargain for. If hypothetically you're able to make 1,950 every hour and you work for 12hrs that's 23,400 and that's not small change. 3 Likes |

Gentlelife50: Let us see... Toyota Corolla Vs 8 Units of Bajaj Motorcycle Unit price of Corolla - #2,200,000 Unit price of Bajaj - #285,000( 8 ) = #2,280,000 Weekly returns for Corolla - #30,000 Weekly return of Bajaj - #8000( 8 ) = #64000 In 10 months (in an ideal situation) Corolla would have raised - #30000*4*10 = #1,200,000 8 Units of Bajaj would have raised - #64000*4*10 = #2,560,000 Conclusion: The Toyota Corolla (Tokunboh) is a wrong tool for rental in ehailing. Investing in Okada business is very risky, because if Lagos state Taskforce catch you? 16 Likes 1 Share |

kanuisagoat: To be honest these 2 cars (corolla and the Civic), are very good cars for transportation and when you come depreciation the Honda depreciates faster than the other for two reasons. 1. Bad reputation: Honda right from inception failed in ine way or the other to listen to customers review about their dislocation of "legs" and this issue has brought about so many fatalities and lost of properties, this bad reputation will take generations to be forgotten. Toyota on the other hand has built on their reputation that even the worst thing in their brand can be ignored and taken as a factory error which won't even result to any lost of life or property. This is why the 1st thing that comes into mind when you mention Honda is "the leg dey pull" bad name, it will take generation of years for that to be erased even if the problem has been eliminated. 2. Second hand value: once an Honda car get damaged or accidended, even if the best panel beater fix it it wont have that original look or shape again like a Toyota would. These are the main odds the Honda brand has against the Toyota. 6 Likes |
