What is the point here?
No more a law? She knew before joining the force.
Pregnancy outside matrimony is now something of pride?
Is she not ashamed of herself, talkless of dragging the force into unnecessary issue?
Am yet to understand what is the moral right under this immoral situation.
Some laws do not make sense, sometimes one would wonder what state of mind the law makers were at the time of making such law? Would u have suggested she aborted(killed) it after finding out she was pregnant? because the real issue here is about keeping the job, irrespective of the act.
Last I read, that section of the law has been repealed, just that it is yet to be updated in their code of conduct.

Is the police force not a problem on it own already where the IGP is granted an extension of 3 months against the law? Isn't he supposed to step down, irrespective of the president extension order, yet he accepts it.

Oga calm you know how many pikin policemen get outside wey some of them know and no even know but base say them just go shook wrong toto

Bongo. It's not about pikins. It's about being vulnerable on the job.
What can a pregnant police woman do when faced with police action.

Even a man that just impregnated a woman will still be ready for police action.
Police is a mans job.

Note that before you can even settle down with a desk job as rookie you still have to do orientation round all police dept. How is she going to achieve that with her Pregooo

What is wrong with fornication in the Constitution? Is fornication a wrong thing in the eyes of the law, isn't the legal age of sex 18
And is the Constitution not outrightly superior to any and every other rule where there is a clash, and when should fornication be considered punishable, I guess it's when it's not committed by men

Knowing fully well that all the single ladies in the force can get married at any time what stop them for making provision

What stop them from making provision for all women in the force?
The argument is not about who fornicates or not but what is one's physchological and physical state in carrying out one's duties.

Wetin concerned me for police matter but make i just talk my mind. There's a difference between your private life and job life. Who she fuçk is not your concern. As long as she nor fuçk am during working hours. Which one be morals this morals that. This is why some military women came out the other time to say they need husband. Nigeria always complicate things. Very useless country

If you woo those military women, they will beat you like a panelbeater. It is not our fault that we dont marry them. Afterall we are bloody civilians while they are bloodless military women

How they go send you make you go protect lives and properties, you come go carry belle? Shameless woman!

Fornication is a sin in the eyes of God and man.
It is a sin in the eyes of your God, it might not in the sight of her God.
Stop using your beliefs as a yardstick to judge others.

If the same rule does not apply to unmarried policemen who impregnate women then why should the rule apply to women. The Constitution prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex.

A very smart move by the AG, Ekiti state.
I love Ekiti people. They are very smart. A very smart move I must say again. But they'll never win. The federal government, through the AGF, Mr. Abubakar, will as well come with yet another brilliant move. They'll hit back at Ekiti AG, and before all recovers from the shock, we must have talked about it for weeks till it fades or another event comes up ( because Nigeria is full of realitical drama).

NIGERIANS ARE FULL TALK AND COUNTER-TALK. IT'S A PITY!!!

That is not actually correct!
MEN DO THE GET PREGNANT! We are talking about personnel in the NPF, not actors outside the NPF. The women the policemen impregnate are not in the NPF. If men got pregnant the rule will apply to both genders.

I hope you understand bro!

How's it fornication when 2 lovers or would-be couples who do not have money to tie the knot chose to have a baby until things improve? Those in same page with you on this matter are ignorant as you are. Would the Nigerian police be responsible for their marriage expenses, the same underfunded sector whom hardly get their little pay as at when due? I remember a friend back in the days who decided to have a child before marriage due to financial challenges . They were living in one room apartment at alimosho after their introduction. When things improved and the guy got employed with a leading construction firm, the got married, it was their daughter who was their little bridesmaid. This fornication of a thing is not even understood by many. They have abused its use in several needless circumstances

The same reason why men don't go on paternity leave despite being fathers whereas a woman is entitled to maternity leave after giving birth.

U don't get the gist at all. Had it been she is pregnant while married, this wouldn't be in the open. So, it's not really about being VULNERABLE per say, it's about moral ETHICS I think which is making me angry.

Should we go ahead and kill your brother knack her kpekus Sometimes you have to be very reasonable in your thinking.

All they need to do is to give her her maternity leave. Where is it written that an unmarried woman cannot get pregnant if she so wished.

Sometimes I just wish God can swap us men to 'em ladies.....,so that we know how it is for them women. We need to stop being draconian and rude to our women.

Please what is in the constitution regarding pregnancy being a police officer? What section can I find that? Or perhaps in the police force act!
Let's have a stand base on facts.

Moral ethics will be spelt out in the force acts. Did she say the pregnancy come from satellites?
Where in moral view is clearly written that a policewoman cannot get pregnant for a man of her choice? Where on God given earth is it written that a woman must get married before she gets pregnant? I only need facts.....You can draw scriptures if you want!

“The Ekiti State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Olawale Fapohunda has sued the Inspector General of Police over the dismissal of Olajide Omolola, the pregnant unmarried female corporal.”

A welcome and delightful action by Ekiti Attorney General. I write to thank Attorney General and commissioner for Justice, Olawale Fapohunda for taking steps to free Nigerian women from utopian law.

That section of the law—which called for dismissal of unmarried pregnant police woman should never have been included in Nigerian constitution, in the first place. It punishes women for what they can do with their bodies.

All nations in the world have abolished primitive ways men used to treat women except Nigeria. This world belongs to men and women. Men should never act as if they are superior to women by passing silly laws to restrict women freedoms [including the freedom to do whatever they want to do with their bodies].

Lets treat our women with respect because women brought all of us to this world.

And yes, civilization has finally caught with Nigerians. We will never go back!

On what moral ground if the case involves a male police officer? We should be careful went analyzing things based on cultural sentiment.
