You can't shut him up from speaking the truth. Rearing of animals should be done at your personal space/ place without disturbing others activities. I can't rare my chicken in another man's uncompleted building. Nigeria has outgrown movement of cattle from one region to another. Pls let's respect our geopolitical space.

Really? Spare me the sob story.

When a Fulani has risen through the ranks to become the leader of Nigeria, I dont think Fulani suffer from any disadvantage.

The increasing frustration Nigerians rightly have with Fulani is that a good proportion of their number are simply bad citizens, engaging in Banditry, Kidnap and Terrorism across the nation.

At the same time, their cohorts in the political establishmsnt turn a blind eye to the abuses committed by their ethnic kin.

That is what the average Nigerian takes exception to, nothing more..

If Fulani are hated, the problem is all their own making sha..

South west people has been mocking herdsmen the most. They have refused us access to good grass, by planting food on the bushes where we are supposed to feed our flock.
your cows are what you live on, your cows are what you have, likewise some of the farmers in the south west as you claimed have farming as the only source of income, now, they plant crops, you people graze their farms with your cows, thereby destroying what they have laboured for, what they solely rely on, their sweat, their only source of income, with your own cows which is also your source of income,
what does that mean, it means you are destroying other people's business with your own business, should they sit back and watch destroy their sweat?
as you are thinking about the plight of the herders, it will be good to always consider the farmers too.

are you crazy? na your papa get the land? what right do you have to another man's land? a man cannot plant food on his own land?

how about you invest in buying your own land where you can graze your cattle?

All in all, the issue is, until we have a properly funded police and until Nigerians learn to allow the Law to do its job, instead of seeking quick revenge soilutions, this crisis will continue.

"

The thing that the herdsman should have done is called the police, and let them do their job.

But no, most Nigerians prefer self help and taking the laws into their own hands.

Last year, I met a Fulani boy who came to serve in South West. He said whenever police is involved in dispute between herders and farmers, police deliberately inflate the price farmers mention for their own personal interest. In the end, both the farmer and herder lose and only the police gain.

I've been to a farm settlement in Iseyin, Oyo State, I saw some of those herdsman struggling to control their cattle. Truth is, cattle are just like little children, many will listen to simple instruction but some few will be stubborn. And you know, these herders are human, sometimes they may get fed up with the stubbornness of the animals and relax for them to do as they wish. Many women too give expensive things (like their phones) to their kids to play when they're troubling them too much.

Some of those cattle even sneak away from their owners sight to feed on a special grass then come back to join the herd. Many times, the special grass is someone's crop. If the owner is around, the herders pay for the damages, if he isn't the herder runs away. Just like many drivers won't bother to stop if they hit a goat and the owner isn't nearby.

I've heard of cases where the herder had to sell a stubborn cow just because it's putting him into too much trouble. Sometimes it's not convenient for them because the stubborn bull is the only strong male that is servicing the cows but he'll have to chose between that and debts.

Yes, there are bad ones among the cattle herders. But there are bad people everywhere. Let's stop demonizing a certain tribe.

Nobody is hating on the Fulanis, there are countries like Indian who have about four times the size of all the cattle heads in west Africa country and beyond in their harems, without causing any havoc or major set back to arable farmers. If you choose to be nomadic, at least don't bury your sense of reasoning in the soil like that of an ostrich causing pain to everyone along your path, while expecting to be treated like a homo sapient. If few people speak evil of you it could be as a result of bad judgement, but once everybody begins to turn against you for the same offence then you should consider your ways. This is exactly what's happening with the Fulanis, instead of thinking through and finding a way out on how to prevent their cattles from entry people's farm which is the bone of contention , they are busy to playing the victims card.

So with all this preaching we should still learn to coexist, Fulani's are nomad they have no home. It will be better to stay in the northern part of the country or go back to Sudan, Niger,Mali, Chad etc where they belong to stop this quarrel

How many years have the herdsmen be causing havoc in all part of Nigeria?

So we should allow you people to continue killing innocent people ?.

Anyways, it's simple, create a ranch for your cows or you would be ejected from any part of Southern Nigeria.

You guys are free to do anyhow you like in Northern part, that's less of our problems

2021 has just been confirmed a year of wonders. I never thought I wud ever see the moniker up there with this kind of comment. grin

Igbo land is the way it is because we are not free. We need resource control to develop igbo land.

Mouthaction does not develop a city.

Brilliant. Fulanis and Igbos are both hostile usurpers. Igbos are even worse in my opinion because it can be argued that a lot of Fulanis are illiterate nomads with lives no more civilized than stone age cavemen.

What is the excuse of Igbos for their hatred of their Yoruba host and the malevolent obsession with taking over his household completely?

True, the SE has one of the largest gas reserve in Africa, which translates to more money as the demand for petroleum decreases. We need more regional autonomy to develop at a faster pace.
