There is nothing he does better than fred as a CM. I knew something was up when Goosen, De Jong and Gini were preferred to VdB in the pivot for The Netherlands national team.

He is also not a proper AM, I guess he might play better as the most advanced CM in a 3 man midfield.

It's not about getting played everytime, these are basic stuffs that can be spotted in minutes. I noticed these things when I watched him closely for his national team.

We've dominated possession in the first-half but have not really transformed them into goals. Hopefully we score early in the second-half to settle frayed nerves.

VDB is a waste of £££££. He's talented, yes - but not suit to our Style of Play at all. He's gonna flourish at Man City or Barcelona. If he wanna excel at United under OGS, he needs to stop playing "e no go spoil for my leg" style of play.
