The Plumming of this stocks is as people expect NTB rates to be above 5% for the 364day bill and then 10.1% in the OMO would hint Foreign investors to sell equities and even bonds in the secondary market to lock cash in OMO @ 10.1%

We just pray and hope that today’s NTB still dips lower but if it appreciates more locals would sell off assets in the stocks market to gain risk free return in t bills

I NEED HELP.

Please can you guys recommend a stock broker that can help to open a cscs Account. Also we need advice on certain shares that have been made private, like 7 up and for companies that have changed ownership like African Petroleum (now Ardova, from Forte Oil).

We also need advice on shares of someone who has died (intestate) and letter of administration has been processed.

Air Services Logistics, started paying good dividend when it was delisted and taken private.

Paid a dividend of about N4.00, not bad for a company that was delisted at around N6.00

That's huge.

It can as well go the other way.
And there appears to be little ways to keep tabs on those unlisted companies.

Investment one stockbrokers is recommended. To open a cscs account click the link on my signature.

For stocks like 7up that delisted and the minority shareholders were compensated, all you need to do is to visit the registrar - GTL registrars you will be given your money or completing the e dividend mandate will do.
for Forte oil turn Ardova there is nothing to worry about. Your holdings are intact.

With letter of administration already processed, the process is more than half completed you will be required to open an estate account with the CSCS through Investment one stock brokers if you decide to go with us.

As stated earlier click on the link on my signature to open a cscs account. You can also PM or call me for details.

ZENITH: Worst hit in today's trading in banking sector............followed by Fidelity, UBA.........to narrow it down........
**These are however presenting better opportunities**
**Dividend is coming, not advisable to sell now or at loss**

With the way the market reacted at exactly 1:00pm. Investors might have seen the stop rates. Sell offs becoming way aggressive before the market hibernation period

One thing is: the market can be unpredictable, tomorrow the tide may change again...........those jumping out this minute may start jumping in the next minute.........
I've not really seen any significant thing causing the sell off........ especially when dividends are around the corner.
Well, the better for bargain hunters....

The reality is that the major driver of stock rally in the past months was the unattractive yield on the risk-free securities. Hence, the sudden change of the situation will most likely usher in a bearish season. I believe folks who follow this page very well know that the question has always been for how long will the fixed income market become unattractive?

This is the point where short-term traders need to act fast and consider an exit strategy as experience tells me that this downtrend may persist even if companies start posting good results with good dividend yields. However, for long-term investors who are more interested in the dividend income, there is no cause for alarm smiley

For bargain hunters like Peter, this seems to be season they have long been waiting for smiley

This is just my own opinion as Mr Market has a mind of its own anyway, it is information-driven cool

Good luck!

What incentive would give investors to buy dividend paying stocks that at the end the yields won’t be too far off or even more than the expected NTB rates with the rising OMO by our CBN Governor.
My friend the truth is that no one knows the future the future of the financial markets lies in the hand of Emefiele

Quite a lot of inconsistency in the system.
We just wake up to expect anything from this govt.

No one can accurately predict the market like earlier said, any policy/events may just surface to make or mar the market.
It's better to expect anything and take pro-active measures.
Wapco reversed up a bit towards closing....to close @26.
If you're sitting on profit and your motive is for capital appreciation, you can sell it to pick at better bargain again........but if you are for long term, you may still sell or leave it.

**Pls note that the tide may also change to positive again, monitor price mvmt as well**

Most times when companies are delisted or taken private, core investors and insiders want to personalise, corner or privatize the wealth and opportunities of the company

Thank you @ymcy56 I actually got in at circa 14, I am for long term but due to some unexpected financial obligation in April I am considering selling, just hoping to sell at the best possible price between now and April.

It's okay.
Why didn't you sell @30?
I can remember posting about pullback or thereabout at that junction .........when some of my Ogas here were projecting 40.
Anyway, you still entered at a very good junction, you may wait to collect dividend before selling, Wapco used to release result around Mar/Apr (May be earlier this year though) .........but remember it depends on Market situation before then. You keep watching price mvmt.
Good luck!
