As Nigeria get K-leg now, na to reason another country o. I've visited Rwanda, I'm back home, and I loved the country with my full chest. I want to start a small software biz but I won't want to run it in Nigeria considering the state of the country.. This one way Fulani Don day carry people business idea give dangote once them see say you day make progress, then front you with government backing once or they tear it down because no be cow business.

So here is what, I'm a programmer. Which African nation can someone port to immediately and start his own small business ,(basically one needs an office, I have laptop, I can get internet) than to be under some one who does not even have a fair understanding of anything ,only to call you on Microsoft teams ,haul insults, then one other imp of a fellow would carry eye service and come in the name of coworker. And want to act stupid as well.

As it stands now, I made a choice of moving on, for good. So I'm in serious search of a country amongst which include

- Rwanda
- Mauritius
- South Africa
- Lesotho
- Zambia

The worry is this, which is the best for something of this sort at this point, please I need advices here.

Rwanda and South Africa are the best options from your list. Mauritius is too expensive, Zambia and Lesotho are not very industrialised, though Zambia is developing. All have strong currencies compared to the Naira. If it has to be Africa, also consider Kenya and Senegal/ the Gambia. Consider the language barrier though, Mauritius, Senegal and Rwanda are mostly French speaking, though you can get English speakers among the educated population. I've not been to Lesotho, but all the others are safe and hospitable. Good luck.

Thanks for this. I'd concentrate more on SA and Rwanda then. Yes Rwanda is French speaking. I noticed it when I visited.

South Africa is the only tech savvy country in Africa. Rwanda is overrated and a piece of shit. Honestly if I was you I would look far away from Africa. You are a programmer the world is your oyster. Look for freelance visas to Europe. They are available. Germany and Austria have the Job seeker visa. UAE has a freelance visa. Have you thought about Mexico. It's the largest trading partner of the USA and a lot of tech outsourcing goes to them. You can go there and start a company strictly catering to Americans. If you want to make a serious headway, get out of Africa.

Aside infrastructure you also need to be looking at purchasing power. Many African nations have higher poverty rates than Nigeria. Poverty rates of around 90 percent. Nigeria is poverty capital because the number of poor people in Nigeria are too much. Close to hundred million. If Nigerians cant afford your tech products, is it Zambians a country with 50 percent youth unemployment rate that will afford it or Rwanda where the per capita income is lower than Nigeria and poverty much higher than Nigeria.


If you eventually decide to stay in Africa build your products for the western or Asian markets. That's where the money dey.
