Good evening Family,
Please I've been following for some time and am super happy and excited about the success stories is am reading even in this new trend.
Am currently in a very difficult corner, my study visa application was rejected early October last year for just one reason which I clearly understand but the thing now is that my agent is requesting for some submission fee which I don't have.

I know I can do the visa application myself but am scared and do not know Jack on how to got about it though I processed my admission myself as well as booking my biometrics appointment.

Lastly I want to state that for my study I have my in law sponsoring me with a good source of income and with a statement of account showing 10m+, I have paid $5,100 CAD deposit out of $11,240 CAD yearly tuition for a 3years diploma course which it my first post secondary study and am just 23.

Please any great and urgent insight will be of help please as all my documents are ready .
You didnt state what exactly you need help with bro. Because to submit another application, you'll be paying another fee. Also work on the reason and concern the VO raised.. it will end in praise.

Good day everyone, I have gone through this thread and found very useful and assuring info. Thanks and well done to everyone. I have a few questions though:

1. Sponsor does not operate a bank account-In the rare occasion that a sponsor (a businessman) has a lucrative business and is willing to pay/send me the required funds to cater for studying abroad and this sponsor does not operate a bank account, deals in cash travels abroad to buy goods pay in cash too etc. is it good enough to have such a sponsor send the required funds into my account and we execute a deed of gift and I sufficiently prove our family connection(same surname etc).

My worry is, it may be a redflag that I am not submitting the sponsor's SOA, although I can prove the existence of his business via incorp certificate, shops rents, travel and purchase history and receipts etc.

2. Dual Intent - I understand DUAL INTENT has been discussed here and it has been said clearly that if a person can successfully meet the requirement of both immigration routes the person will be fine, I need to ask about POF in this regard, can I use this lump sum gift (in no 1) to also meet the EE requirement while also mentioning it as my study POF? May sound silly but in the actual sense if either of the application is successful the funds will actually be applied towards living expenses whether as a PR or Student.

I look forward to your candid advice and comments.

Did the person actually say he/she doesn't have a bank account? Because you definitely need a SOA to show POF. no 2 ways about it. Also depositing a lump sum into your account prior to your application will definitely raise a brow. You can only encourage your sponsor to open an account and also pay part of your fees from that account , when you solve number 1, then number 2 would be easy....it will end in praise.

But I mean is the LOI just for students as I am a work permit applicant?

Every Applicant will go to POE with a LOI in order to get the required permit...so its needed...

Good day all, i am so happy to have stumbled on this thread after watching a youtube video about Study route being the best to migrate to Canada.

I am a graduate of Computer science (4.1/5.0)

I am married with 3 children but intend to leave them with my husband and go alone first.

I am working in a hospital, though i use computer for my work, my job function is Medical Record Officer.

Graduated in 2011, ran a farm with my husband for a while, went to learn skills like sewing and plaiting before i got my present job as a record officer in 2018. I am 36years.

My questions are these:
1. Considering the study gap from 2011 to 2021, will i have a problem with getting a visa?

2. Since my job function is not in IT, will i run into any problem?

3. My husband intend to sell of one our property and sponsor me, hope the lump sum wont cause issues for us?

4. I have never travelled out of the country before, hope that is not a problem?

5. I thought about going for a course that is Medical record related, but the courses are mainly certificate and diploma, i don't want a situation where eyebrows will be raised on why i am going for a lower degree... So i intend to go for Cybersecurity(Msc.)

6. While trying to migrate through EE or Provincial Nominee, i started Masters to boost my CRS score, but am not through, do i need to mention that?

Please seniors in the house, help a sister and give me direction if my intention on relocating through study route with these 'baggages' is feasible.

Congrats (and in advance) to all who have gotten their approval

Answers.

1. NO
2. You need to get a school that'll first admit you, then you can write a LOE why you're going for that programme. E.g My Bsc is CIT 2011 too and I'm going for Global management in 2021, so study gap isn't a problem since LOE explained why I'm going for GM.
3. No, he'll explain in his support letter that he sold the because he needed it to fund your trip and also the money would be in his account, so attach evidence.
4. No, I have also NEVER left Ngeria before.
5. Cybersecurity is a very nice course. Reason u should get admitted first, then you can convincingly explain to the VO how cybersecurity has been your passion an with you IT background it should be a problem.
6. Dont mention MSC in you application atalllllll.
I. You haven't finished it and
Ii. It will be a hurdle against he MSC application.

It will end in praise.

Is TOEFL accepted in lieu of IELTS for the NSE visa application? Must it be IELTS only?

Hello,house..Planning on applying for NSE and I need advice regarding proof of funds. I'm a civil engineer, working for a civil engineering firm applying for a civil engineering program. My firm is willing to act as my sponsor as regards proof of fund for the 30k Canadian dollars. Can I use this? is it advisable? Plus, should I support this with my own personal account with about 10k CAD?

Please I need an urgent reply so I can give my company feedback on time...thank you.

Cc : Time2soar1
its dicey using your company as sponsor, because VO might want to ask, why is your company sponsoring and investing such huge amount into your trip. Why are you not doing same course in Nigeria while they invest same. Also you'll have to proof the bond between you n your company and what's in it for them to have decided to sponsor you...so manyquestions to be answered before using them as sponsor. When you convincingly answer those questions then you can with faith use them...

Hello People,

I applied to Memorial University Newfoundland, Canada, for fall 2021. I submitted my application on the 26th of January, 2021.

I got a response from School of graduate studies (sgs) for the receipt of my application, stating once formal decision is reached I will be contacted.

For the funding of my application, I have asked a distant family tie (an uncle) who is a business owner to serve as my sponsor. He is willing to provide his company account statements and other required documents needed to be provided by financial sponsor.

Elders in the house, what other documents will he need to make available besides his bank statement? I need this so I can reach out to inform of the these, so it can be easily made available.

Please avail me with all necessary information.

Thank you in anticipation.

@Lekiboboe @justmellow@olasubomy @otunbaTee

Asides providing those documents.. he must pay part or full tuition too(depending on his buoyancy)...you'll need his MBS, INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT DATA PAGE.,and a letter of support.

Inioluwa1:
Good day everyone, LONG POST ALERT (But believe me when I say it is supposed to be longer)
I have been a silent and longsuffering reader of this thread, actively reading since like Part 14 or 15.
On Tuesday the 9th of February 2021, I got the much-awaited PPR!
This is my gist:
December 2019, I reignited my dream to go to Canada. I genuinely wanted a career change from Law to HR. I finished with a 2:2 (Second Class Lower) in both Law and my first degree in English (I’m a young old man – 27 going to 28), and a 2:1 (Second Class Upper) from Law School. It was good enough to get me a decent job in Nigeria but the reality is stark and rather disappointing (Nigerian Lawyers dey suffer… but that is gist for another day).
With deep research, I chose to make the career switch, starting with paid online course which bagged me a diploma in Human Resources. I took this with hopes of one day becoming a specialist with my background in Labor Laws and Employment Legislation, by God’s grace. It was a big and tall dream. My target job and related field was and is increasingly always in Top 3 in-demand and top paid jobs in Canada. But we all know man proposes and God blesses as He wills.
I initially started off with interest in Express Entry under the FSW, but the impediment was my years of foreign work experience - less than a year. I wrote my IELTS and passed with 8.0. Overall Band Score, did my evaluation with WES (getting a transcript from Nigerian institutions is a task I wouldn’t wish on my enemy) but the CRS score was still too low. The only way to boost is was to effectively be fraudulent and risk a five-year ban. No, that was too much of a risk. I was advised by an acquaintance to try study route. How? I had no knowledge of it and I didn’t graduate with 2:1 that I could try Masters. I did my research and applied to two schools for a Business Diploma in Human Resources (I was adamant I wanted Saskatchewan for “personal” reasons.) and got admission offer into Great Plains College, Swift Current. This was EIGHT months after I started my Canada plans. I dumped EE for study with age not really being on my side as I intended to use my mother as the sole sponsor (Salary was nothing to write home about) for an ordinary diploma… me, a graduate with two university degrees, NYSC, and a qualified Lawyer. The odds were heavily and massively stacked against me. I waited and waited and waited and it seemed the world was passing me by and I wasn’t making progress. I broke down many times and kept my sincerity in my relationship with God even in my imperfection.
Nairaland and this thread is a big blessing. I got so much insight from being humble enough to learn from everyone.
My Application Timeline goes thus,
- Applied Online: October 6, 2020
- Biometrics Request: October 7, 2020
- Biometrics Completed: October 9, 2020
- NSE Additional Document Request (MyBankStatement Cert): November 24, 2020
- Upfront Medical after waiting and not getting request: November 25, 2020
- Medical Updated to Passed: December 2, 2020
- NSE Additional Document Uploaded: December 2, 2020
- NSE Additional Document Received: December 4, 2020
- Eligibility Review Started: December 4, 2020
- Deferred January Admission to September and informed IRCC with the new Acceptance documents via webform and mails to the three Nairobi e-mails.
- Requested GCMS Notes: January 28, 2021
- PPR and BVL and GCMS Notes all dropped: February 9, 2021
A total of FOUR months and 3 days passed and EVERY SINGLE DAY was excruciating. I prayed, fasted, and made covenants with God. I dipped into depression more than once… He gave me Jeremiah 29: 11 and I prayed for favour every night before I slept and every morning before I opened my eyes, I reminded God of His promises in His word. I got my Joy back even before the miracle happened. I was instructed to do what Otunba, lekiboboe and especially Awys did in their various posts like https://www.nairaland.com/6321900/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/228#98846426 and it worked! I am grateful to Blavkmaann , your posts gave me hope and cheered me up and FrankRobbn1 you’re a blessing. I can’t mention everyone but you’ve all inspired me.

Documents submitted:
1. Application for Study Permit made outside Canada (FORM imm1294e)
2. Application for Temporary Residence (FORM imm5257f)
3. Client Information
a. My Statement of Purpose
b. My Birth Certificate
c. My siblings’ Birth Certificates
d. My academic and professional certificates: First Degree Cert, Second Degree Cert, WAEC Cert, Online Diploma Cert, Law School Cert, NYSC Cert, and Call to The Bar Cert.
e. Academic Transcripts from both Universities attended (Student Copy suffices)
f. IELTS General Test Result
g. There was an IRCC Form filled from school I attached.
h. Police Certificate
i. Father’s Death Certificate
j. Study Questionnaire
4. Digital Photo
5. Family Information (FORM imm5645e)
6. Letter of Acceptance
7. International Passport Data Page
8. Proof of Means of Financial Support:
a. Sworn Affidavit for support by mother duly notarized
b. Letter of appointment/confirmation of appointment at work for mother
c. Salary Payroll of the sponsor (mother) for 6 months prior to application
d. Sponsorship Letter
e. Relevant Work certificates for sponsor
f. Printed and scanned Bank Statements of sponsor for 4 months prior to application (Current and Savings totalling 5.4 M Naira)
g. Proof of Sponsor’s Rent Collection over property signed by her Lawyer.
h. Receipt and confirmation of payment of Tuition Deposit of $CAD 8,500 for a Semester
i. Sponsor’s International Passport data page
j. Certificate of Occupancy of sponsor’s property
k. Employment/Work Identity Card of Sponsor
l. Bank Investment Account worth 3.04M Naira

NOTE: When I got the NSE Request for a Mybankstatement Cert, I initially sent series of webforms and mails that I don’t want to do because I was seeing $CAD 30,000 minimum when we barely had half! I was led to submit it with a balance of 3.6M Naira (having already paid $CAD 8,500 deposit) because upon reading the letter again, it said “Proof of Financial Support A mybankStatement certificate showing sufficient funds for your studies for at least 6 months and 12 months of banking history”, which mean (to my new understanding) half of the requirement for a year’s sufficient funds… English can be hard.
Let me not bore you. I hope and trust I have been able to restore someone’s faith here. Don’t be moved by what you see (even on this forum, I saw people with over ten times of what my mother has and even being fully-funded and what not, not getting approved, I’m not despising anyone - God forbid, just keep the faith and DO YOUR HOMEWORK well, God cannot be mocked.), your joy is key – don’t lose it, keep busy and don’t stay idle - depression sets in faster then, a delay can never be a denial.
I’ll be resuming September 2021. Let me stop here, it has ended in praise!
Congratulations!!

Thank you for your response/advice @OtunbaTee. Yes the person said they don't operate a bank account (although he has one- hardly ever uses it and there cant be a solid balance in it). Based on your explanation I will have to convince him to start operating the account even if its for this purpose. tedious but mehn.... Thanks a lot once again.

But just to be clear on your advice, do you mean whatever money he wants to give me is best transferred from his account to mine and I must also submit his SOA? My worry is his SOA may not be solid atall considering the past inactivity.

Good day all,
I need an urgent advice on my application.
I applied by myself on the 10th of September 2020 and my application was rejected on the 17th of September. I was confused because before making the application I showed a lot of experienced agents all my Document and they did some adjustment and they said it was perfect, I was like 90% sure of my profile.
After my first application was rejected, I was really sacred so I went through an agent in Canada and she reapplied for me. The time line of my 2nd application goes like this:
Application date - 27th September 2020
Biometrics - 2nd of November 2020
NSE request – 12th November 2020
NSE submitted -24th November 2020
Additional document request (Employment letter) – 14th January 2021
Additional document submitted - 15th January 2021
And it was the last I heard from them, no updates at all.
I haven’t done a medical upfront although I booked for 18th of February 2021 with the hope that I would have a medical request before then. My agent has sent couple of mails to them, I personally sent webforms but no update yet. My major issue is that I have paid my first term school fees because the school gave a deadline (school fees can be refunded if visa was denied). Lectures resumed on the 18th of January with online classes, because of time difference and work (I work in a bank), I haven’t been attending classes, I just try to read on my own and it hasn’t really been easy for me because the write tests every day, I have missed a lot of test if not all. I tried to defer but the school said they don’t defer and I can’t quit my job yet because if things don’t work out as planned, I would be jobless and you know what it means to be jobless in this country. Honestly this has been a really rough phase for me, I am so confused, I don’t know what to do anymore, my agent keeps telling me to have patience that it would come but the more I wait the more I miss a lot from school which would definitely affect my grades at the end.
Is there anything I can do about this situation? Its draining me mentally.
