izzou: Guy...I started driving with a manual car in the 90s and I have driven it on commercial too. I never drove automatic until 2009 or so. U came into this gist very late, d least u could have done is find out how the topic started before u jump in. That's how intelligent people contribute to discussions. In case u find it difficult to read, the summary of the gist is driving a manual car for e-hailing in this Lagos. What do u think about it? is it advisable or not? would u do it or not? if u have done it, how was ur experience. Etc Not whether they are painting manual car red or blue or green. U can now contribute. Thank you. 13 Likes 1 Share |

BAZ001: Brother man what happens to physical contact. Having a meeting and talking about many things we miss about each other. Technology has aided depression. Most human needs people to talk to assure them of their sanity, but internet has clouded that. Am not sorry if am of the old skool opinion about life, but the Good old life is gone. 7 Likes |

kanuisagoat: Absolutely yes! Though I didn't drove then. Started driving in August 2017, drove for almost a month and left it because I was confused. I can't even tell you I knew what I was doing then, till I resumed again in March 2018 and then the gross was still mad like what we have in Oct - December. Was wonderful meeting Sirdave, Ogunvic back then. |

mrjaydee: Lol see flame...these argument na because of lack of understanding. Emphasis on e-hailing in Lagos but people are talking of driving for fun, for power, sport car, driving to work and back, etc. The day we understand the discuss and contribute to it objectively, is d day op arguments will make end. Argument is good, it helps people see another perspective but we must focus on the issue and not on personality...that's when insults come in. Let's all grow up, there is nothing wrong in accepting ur mistake when u realise it instead of digging further down. 7 Likes |

tojahh: Nawa o. Oversaturation I guess. Thats the thing with we Nigerians. Back then in 2015, a colleague told me how this POS business was booming in some Northern cities with little to no access to banks. I briefly thought of going into it but I felt no one will pay commission to withdraw money in the East when there are banks everywhere. How wrong I was. The moment some people started it and others noticed they were making money, everyone trooped into it. Today, almost every street has two-three POS shops. Nigerians don scatter the business. 3 Likes |

kanuisagoat: Yes ooo...u could make upto that in a week. HP and rental was between 45k to 60k then, guys made 40k in a day self that time. just 5 trips can fetch u that. Ogba to VI was like 10k to 12k without surge o. If surge come dey na die Some people did percentage like the poster but na owner go give u fuel money. So u just drive and get 20% of net after uber takes 25%, owner pockets d rest after fuel and other repairs if any. Smart ones bought cars in 6months to 12months of driving. Others bought lands, built houses, some don travel abroad sef leave dis suffer country for us. Most riders those days where bucksed-up no be now wey person go wan scam u for N700 trip and still be saying because of just N700? Chai...men don suffer 3 Likes |

kanuisagoat: Brother man, blame no one. The situation the country is permits everyone to do what is necessary to stay afloat. Any legal business that brings daily income is always eye catching to an average Nigerian. No matter how bad a real hustle appears, Nigerians will still key in. We are who we are, survivors. 4 Likes |

@ Baz 001. Its good you are concerned. Covid thing is everywhere... I hv been off the radar since last week. Last Friday was d last tym I worked on d app. Getting better though, After every trip, if it allows it, wind down all windows n allow fresh air for at least 5 mins. The bane of this work is that enclosed space one shares with all and sundry. 1 Like |

kanuisagoat: It depends on u finding a driver that will accept 1. U don't have access to the drivers account now that drivers do uber, Bolt, indriver etc. 2. U cant track Offline trips 3. You as d owner, will provide tollgate fares, parking fees, money for data, call credit, etc 4. It requires a lot of calculation, plus and minus. So to save urself from d stress, just do flat rate every week anything above that na driver own. But all things being equal % is almost the same thing with flat rate if u check it well. Cos driver on rental goes home with about 25% of his earnings on d average. Except he is doing indriver alone that doesn't collect commission or he got a lot of good offline trips 4 Likes |
