Bailly has done a decent job, his only problem is he's made of glass.
Valdez was a Barcelona washed up GK brought in as a backup.
Gerrard Pique didn't underwhelm in any way, he was just unlucky to be around when Vidic and Rio were in there prime.
Di Maria's was a psychological problem that affected his form after a bright start but then again he only spent a season with us.

Well in football there's no flop-proof signing, anybody can flop depending on many factors.

Having giving the above excuses, United as a club want to make progress not retrogress. Mings is not even the best CB at Villa this season, there is no CB at United now that Mings is better than including Tuanzebe.

We want to improve on what we have not going back to mediocrity again. Maguire has taught us enough lesson on English hype.

It helps when you have a certain goalkeeper called Martinez who is in the form of his life, and keeping clean sheets for them even in matches that suggest they should have conceeded due to the xG against that they accumulate during those matches.
