Protests work. The idea behind a protest is not to conform, it's supposed to be 'disruptive'. How do you demand for your right? By asking politely and nicely and expect systematic, historical oppressors to just say "yeah we grant all your wishes". If you believe change happens like this then you must e living in cuckooland.

Most times people who condemn protests like this are the ones benefiting the most from imbalances and injustices people are protesting against.

The ENDSARS protests were largely successful. Not because it ended police brutality overnight but because it amplified voices, took up space, and exposed unjust, undeserved privileges in a bad system. It was a HUGE step in the right direction.

For me, I felt the deployment wasn't even necessary. They should have kept themselves at bay while the DefendLagosProtesters are also allowed their right to PEACEFUL protest at the plaza.

That would have been enough.

I think it’s better to prevent the breakdown of law and order of it can be done. The DefendLagos movement have decided to stand down their protest in order to allow police handle the situation. If police fails, Lagosians will hit the street and take care of the situation.

#Endsars did not create any problem, the politicians are the ones that used hoodlums to make it look like it created a problem. #endsars sent a strong message to the politicians that soon the youths are going to rise up and demand for their rights and a better country if they don't sit up now and do the needful.

The military might have ended the first one abruptly with their reckless killing and instilled fear, but a day will come when no one will be scared of the military or dying anymore and everyone will stand with one voice and scream "enough is enough!"

The politicians may seem to be having the last laugh now, but such laughter will soon turn to crying and wailing if they don't start making the country work now, because the youths' patience and hope in the country are getting thiner by the day and it will get to a stage where we all are going to see the government(everyone in it) as the real enemy of our country and we would want to do anything to get them out.

So to me, #endsars protest was just a preamble of what's to come if our current crop of selfish, evil, corrupt and unpatriotic politicians don't amend their ways and start fixing the country.
