Jega: Patriotism Means To Stand By The Country Not By The President by Abdulazeez99: 7:35pm On Feb 13, 2021 |
Attahiru Jega, former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC), has said patriotism means standing by the country and not the president, Igbere TV reports. Jega said this in a tweet on Saturday. “Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the President,” he wrote. https://twitter.com/Prof_AJega/status/1360547133708005384?s=20 The former INEC chairman, who is also a member of the Nigerian Working Group on Peacebuilding and Governance, had with other members, including former Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, John Onaiyekan and retired military general, Martin Luther Agwai, criticized President Muhammadu Buhari last year, over the suffering of Nigerians from the insecurity to lives and property, as well as the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the standards of living in the country. He has also advised Buhari to restructure the country, in order to resolve the narrative of poor governance in the country and review the controversy regarding revenue allocation formula. 40 Likes 4 Shares

Buhari zombies won't like this. Buharists are so dull and lack self esteem so they console themselves that Buhari is the best thing since Einstein. 99 Likes 6 Shares |

Goat talk ... where your brain go in 2015. Unfortunately you can't undo the past. The unspeakable evil you helped to enthrone may even consume you if you don't keep mum like other goats like you that led us here. 78 Likes 3 Shares |

Most people knew buhari wasn't patriotic, but a certain quarter of the country denied that and called them terrorists and enemies of Nigeria... Today they're remixing the song that has already been sung as far back as 2015...There's no country, just a bunch of people deceiving themselves. 41 Likes 4 Shares |

True that! I'm surprise people still can't tell the difference. What most of them care about is to lampoon this government blaming this government for the spate of woos that has befallen the country. Though they forget all the bad things happening today, didn't just start now, rather it's been going on before most of us on social media were even born. So all in all, let's be patriotic and know that this government, along with past government, failed us woefully. It's an aberration to compare failures. 3 Likes |

But the Prof.Attahiru Jega never thought and acted wise in this regard in 2015 when he conducted an election wherein card readers were never used in most of the northern states to install the catastrophe Nigeria have today. 5 Likes |
