Sure, At least team of the Decade Oparanozie deserves a spot but who are we to leave out from that list among the front 3??

At least Ngozi Okobi is getting the recognition she deserves, She remains the Best Attacking Midfielder as far as Africa Women Football is concerned

Gabrielle is the Cameroon best player of the Decade, she has been consistent with her form till date but I can't really say much about the creteria IFFH'S used for this..

Desire is not that lady's mate. Those people at IFFHS are clowns. Oparanozie has 4 AWCON titles and a golden boot. She has scored over 100 goals in her career including 22 in 35 for Naija. She should easily be at number 2.

For Sure Oparanozie seems to be underrated, her work rate is top notch, She have more than 22goals and 35caps for Nigeria..

Though the official organizers of the tournament Haven't release number of Participating teams yet.. They only release details a day to the tournament..

Ukraine is the only Country to have named their Squad for the tournament..

Nigeria
Equatorial Guinea
Uzbekistan
Ukraine
Serbia
Bulgaria
India
Russia remains the possible teams for the tournament..

Waldrum invites Ucheibe, George, Payne, 20 others for Turkish Women’s Cup
11th February 2021

Reigning African champions Nigeria will land in Antalya on Monday to participate in the fifth edition of the Turkish Women’s Cup taking place 15th – 24th February.

It is the first run-out for the Super Falcons, who reached the Round of 16 at the 8th FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in France in the summer of 2019, since being shockingly edged out of the race for the Tokyo Olympics by Cote d’Ivoire penultimate autumn.

It is also the first call of new Head Coach, American Randy Waldrum, with the squad he is expected to mould into credible competitors for honours at global level.
Ukraine, Serbia, India, Bulgaria, Uzbekistan and Equatorial Guinea are among teams confirmed so far for the 10-day tourney, though Tokyo Olympics-bound Zambia have pulled out for undisclosed reasons.

Nine-time African champions Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea’s Nzalang Nacional have been lumped into the same pool alongside Uzbekistan, with the Guineans handed an opportunity to address a 6-0 spanking by the Nigerians in the group phase of the 2018 Women Africa Cup of Nations finals in Ghana.

Also known as the Alanya Gold City Cup, the tournament ranks as one of the more notable events on the women’s football calendar worldwide.

The Falcons will aim to become the first African side to triumph at the tournament, following the third pplace finish by Ghana’s Black Queens last year. Chile won the trophy with Hungary as runner-up.

Poland (2017) and France (2018 and 2019) are the other previous winners of the Alanya Gold City Cup.

Nigeria’s Head Coach Waldrum has invited 23 players, mostly from the group that reached the Round of 16 at the World Cup in France, including goalkeepers Tochukwu Oluehi and Chiamaka Nnadozie, defenders Onome Ebi and Chidinma Okeke, midfielders Rita Chikwelu, Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene and Halimatu Ayinde, and forwards Gift Monday, Rasheedat Ajibade and Asisat Oshoala.

23 FALCONS FOR ALANYA GOLD CITY CUP

Goalkeepers: Tochukwu Oluehi (C.D. Pozoalbense, Spain); Chiamaka Nnadozie (Paris FC, France); Christy Ohiaeriaku (Edo Queens)

Defenders: Onome Ebi; Glory Ogbonna (Edo Queens); Osinachi Ohale (Madrid CFF, Spain); Mariam Ibrahim (Nasarawa Amazons); Chidinma Okeke (Madrid CFF, Spain); Habeebat Akinwande (FC Robo)

Midfielders: Rita Chikwelu (Madrid CFF, Spain); Esther Sunday (ALG SPOR, Turkey); Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene (Eskilstuna, Sweden); Antoinette Payne (Sevilla FC, Spain); Halimatu Ayinde (Eskilstuna, Sweden); Christy Ucheibe (SL Benfica, Portugal); Patricia George (Sands FC, Germany)

Forwards: Asisat Oshoala (FC Barcelona, Spain); Uchenna Kanu (Linkopings, Sweden); Rasheedat Ajibade (Atletico Madrid, Spain); Francisca Ordega; Chinwendu Ihezuo; Gift Monday (FC Robo); Charity Adule (SD Eibar, Spain)

Newly appointed Nigerian female national team gaffer Randy Waldrum has invited 23 professional footballers for the upcoming Alanya Gold City Cup scheduled for Turkey.

In the team list released on Thursday afternoon, Asisat Oshoala, Francisca Ordega, Ngozi Okobi, Rasheedat Ajibade and Halimatu Ayinde are some the usual suspects that made the squad.

Patricia George of Sands FC in Germany is the latest recruit to be coronated with the green and white colours of Nigeria even with her numerous nationality.

Raised in an athletic family, 23-year old American-born versatile Patricia George always dreamt of playing football international football but it seems she has finally made her discussion.

Her father Phillips is a Nigerian who moved to the US on an athletic scholarship. Her paternal grandfather was from Onitsha while her grandmother is from Rivers State Nigeria.
Her mother is a former Venezuelan 400 m athlete, Florencia Chilberry. George's parents were both scholarship track and field athletes at Wichita State.

She is also a younger sister to Nigerian sprinter Regina George as she couldn't hide her feelings courtesy of her social media page.

"So Excited to say that I’ve been Invited to Play with the Senior Women’s Nigerian National Soccer Team! I Can’t explain how Happy and Excited I am!!"

The tournament is expected to take place between 15th to 24th of February with Equatorial Guinea, India, Ukraine and Serbia also participating.

Aside from the concerns about some players being out of action for close to a year, I think this squad is a decent one.

The SF should be odds on favorites to win the tournament, considering the caliber of teams on parade.

Moreover, if the Zambians, for some reason end up withdrawing from the Olympics, the IOC and FIFA should strongly consider inviting Nigeria to take their place...

Ex-captain Desire Oparanozie 'still has Nigeria future'

By Oluwashina Okeleji

Nigeria's Desire Oparanozie waves to the crowd after a game at 2019 Women's World Cup

Despite being omitted from a 23-player squad for the Turkish Women's Cup, former captain Desire Oparanozie is still part of the Super Falcons plans, according to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The France-based striker, 27, has been overlooked by the African Champions' following a sit-in protest over unpaid bonuses and allowances at the 2019 World Cup in France.

Oparanozie said she was not surprised by her omission from new coach Randy Waldrum's maiden squad hinting that it was because of the protest.

But the NFF's director of communications Ademola Olajire has quickly played down talk of a rift between the Dijon striker and the football authority.

"Oparanozie is still part of the team's plans and her non-inclusion has nothing to do with that protest in France because she was not the only one involved," Olajire told BBC Sport Africa.

"Selection of players is predominantly the prerogative of the coaches and not the NFF.

"She remains an important member of the women's national side. I think she will just have to keep working on her game and, if she gets the opportunity, then push for a consistent selection."

Oparanozie had publicly defended her stance in France that the NFF should include players left out of the World Cup party as they look to pay players money owed from previous international fixtures over several years.

"I did what I felt was right. Even if that's the only thing I did, I'm very happy." she said in July.

Meanwhile, the squad announced by the NFF includes reigning African footballer of the year Asisat Oshoala, veteran defender Onome Ebi, former USA youth international Toni Payne and US-born Patricia George.

The continent's most successful national side with nine African titles will depart Nigeria on 15 February for the fifth edition of the Turkish Cup tournament.

Nigeria will face Uzbekistan in their opening game before facing fellow Africans Equatorial Guinea at the tournament, they had also been due to take on Zambia, who have now withdrawn from the event..

Four pull out of Nigeria's Turkish Women's Cup squad as CSKA Moscow replace Zambia

Some players will not be able to represent the country at the women's competition after withdrawing for varying reasons

Four players have pulled out of Nigeria's 23-woman squad for the 2021 Turkish Women's Cup in Alanya, Goal can exclusively report.

The affected players are Atletico Madrid striker Rasheedat Ajibade, Paris FC goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, SL Benfica midfielder Christy Ucheibe and Eskilstuna United midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene.

The unfortunate development is coming 48 hours after the Nigeria Football Federation released their team's roster on Thursday.

On reasons for pulling out, Goal understands Ajibade and Ucheibe's withdrawal are due to administrative reasons, while Okobi-Okeoghene and Nnadozie were exempted on health grounds.

The setback has left coach Randy Waldrum racing against time to find replacements, with his initial 23-woman list now reduced to 19.

As it stands, coach Waldrum will be hoping for a last-minute replacements, considerably foreign-based to fill the void left by the four players in the squad.

Meanwhile, CSKA Moscow will take the place of Zambia in Group A following the African nation's withdrawal from the event on Tuesday.

The development means the Super Falcons will now face the Russian champions on February 18, before taking on Ubezkistan on February 20 and Equatorial Guinea three days later in Alanya.

The Nigeria-based contingents are scheduled to depart the country on Sunday and expected to arrive in Turkey on Monday, February 15.

Waldrum will meet with the team for the first time since his engagement last October and will hope for a title-winning start in charge of the African champions in Turkey.
