Lazyyouth4u: Some of the children of the old money men mentioned in " The making and Makers of Nigerian private enterprise" by Tom Forrest. Became Professors, lawyers, doctors, civil servants etc, because most of those old money men were not educated, the parents never wanted their children to come into the family business. One of the reasons why some of such businesses died. But for someone like Adeola Odutola, some of the children are earning hundreds of millions as dividends. He used to be a major shareholder of Consolidated brewery before it was recently bought by Nigeria Brewery 9 Likes |

emmanuelewumi: It is better for my business to die if my children do not want it. As long as my children are happy, healthy and doing very well in their chosen professions. Happiness, good health and contentment are much better than chasing old money/businesses and preservation of generational wealth and assets 7 Likes |

Lazyyouth4u: Professor Osagie was the personal physician to many Heads of State Gowon, Obasanjo, Shagari and IBB, this connection opened doors of opportunities to his children. Hakeem Osagie does not have a good record in corporate Nigeria, how did he manage UBA, after selling his shares in UBA to Standard Trust Bank and used the proceeds to invest in Etisalat what came out of Etisalat? The guy should just put his loot in fixed income and stop stressing himself 5 Likes |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Nobody: 1:03pm On Feb 14, 2021 |
emmanuelewumi: Haha. Keem is actually a very sharp guy. Unfortunately, UBA ended disastrously and Etisalat was dead and buried when they came in late. Keem is just an example. Danladi of Verod, Tunde Kehinde of Lydia (first Jumia CEO), Philip Iheanacho of Azura are other examples. They are not children of old money billionaires but comfortable parents that gave them the best education and foundation and today, these chaps are doing very well That is what I would like for my kids. Any extra investments or businesses I do to fund my own retirement enjoyment will just be extra money for them when I’m gone 1 Like |

We are at the helm of a wealth shift. You are lucky to be here early. If you haven’t started, please start. I know I usually say they don’t arrest late comers when it comes to investment, but this time guys, you will be late. Bitcoin has touched $50k. I used to buy this on the streets of London in 2010 for £10 when a whole one costs roughly £100. Thank God we are alive to see this. Get in and forget about not trusting it. It is no longer a speculation. It is a fact. 5 Likes |

SteveOfu: Were u dey when it was $10k or $20k. Why u come now when him don peak. This is certainly not the best time to buy. I think it will drop to more than half what it is currently before heading upwards once more. Na Elon Musk follow hike d value when him been drop a fraction of him loot from d surge in Tesla shares. ositadima1: Elon Musk can't sell his shares now, SEC won't allow him to do that. He might be allowed to sell when Tesla becomes profitable and starts churning out cash. The fund he invested in crypto currency must have come from other sources The guy get game plan sha, no follow am carry the kaya 3 Likes |

emmanuelewumi: It was the cash in Tesla’s cash reserves. Cash that is either put in the bank or invested in liquid assets. Cash under short term assets cannot just sit in a current account na. Most businesses put these in money market instruments. He got approval from shareholders to invest some in btc0ins. The investment in btc0ins was not a long term investment for Tesla o. Na just excess cash wey dem invest. 2 Likes |

Lazyyouth4u: Tesla currently has a PE ratio of about 1000, can the earnings increase by 1000% in 2021. If it does it shows it is a high growth company, he should be able to get a better return reinvesting the cash in his company. Unless if he is not sure of the current market valuation of the company. 2 Likes |
