please help
how can i answer this question.
I have been I the embassy long-time ago.
when they ask what I do for a living.
my answer was I'm a registered private business man.
and my monthly income profit is 300k that was what I fill in my application.
yet I got denied under section 214 .
so how do I answer to prove my economic ties with Nigeria.

Your travel history is very important.
You need to convince them that the job you are doing is very lucrative . Also the position you occupy is highly paying and you love your job.

And let them know you cant afford to be out of work for more than three weeks.

Ode... check me out on Instagram @ and see the countries I have been to on both leisure and business. You can also check me out on LinkedIn and see how much of professional profile I have built for myself. If I have to relocate, it will then be on professional grounds. There are so many genuine grounds for migration - UK point based is now one of them. So keep quiet if you don't know how jump into a conversation and it is obvious u got nothing to offer here intellectually. For your information, this platform is designed for individuals with intellectual capacities to walk people through genuine steps to acquiring visas as well as guides on successful travel experience not japa as you have described it in your own myopic terms. Ode jatijati.

As usual, they always have to throw in the "do you know who I am, where av been and what av got". Listen real good bro or madam, who gives a flying rats ass where you've been, what you do or who you know? Some might, I don't give a hoot.
You do your thing and I do mine and the last time I checked, this is a public forum and everyone is entitled to a say.
You are this well traveled and exposed yet still comments like a cave person. Oniranu

This is exactly what you and your comrade are guilty of.

How many times do we have to ring it to your ears that people are travelling for DIFFERENT REASONS??

God forbid someone like you is a visa officer, Na Straight refusal for everybody be that angry

Simply because there is a “pandemic” undecided

And you sir cannot fathom the simple logic behind our reasoning. During a global pandemic, the tried and true way of shutting down the spread of the virus is by stopping cross border travel until things are under control. Whatever the reason for travel, the health and safety of citizens should be paramount. This is the perspective from which we speak. Some ask what is our business? It is everybody's business including the tomato and pepper seller in Mushin who has never seen the airport because one and more people that brought the virus has resulted in the deaths of many in this country. You say simply because there is an epidemic? That is the understatement of the century! Millions have died around the globe. Life may be cheap in Nigeria but not all of us have a lackadaisical attitude towards it. The virus is already here, but there are several more potent variants in other countries that will be brought to Nigeria and cause further havoc if we do not take precautions.

Up until now, there are no rules expressly forbidding travel to the US but the appeal is that potential travelers should limit it to essential travel and use good judgement in determining what falls in that category. In my humble opinion, vacations, conferences, short family visits do not fall in that category. All of these can wait until safer times, especially since there are numerous virtual alternatives. This is not the official position of the US State Department, just my humble opinion which I am expresssly entitled to. The issue here is that a couple of us have expressed a contrary opinion that rings true and is not in agreement with the prevailing positions here. Take it or leave it, but there is absolutely no need to resort to insults and innuendos.

Your opinion is absolutely intellectual not opinionated and I may want to have further intellectual discussion with you. Do u know that tourism and hospitality accounts for 10.4% of global GDP and billion of livelihoods depend wholly on this sector. Dubai opens its borders for tourism and UK will soon join in the race as a service country once her projection to vaccinate 40 millions of her populace by March ending. In my humble opinion, cross border restriction isn't the solution. Pandemic is a new reality and precautions have been set in place to live with it.

Even with all the exposure, you still resort to insults to make a meaningless point. I see you just learnt the word "myopic". Do I blame you. I bet face to face you'd be silent. Anyway, enjoy your few minutes of attention. From the way you write, I bet you lack simple home training. Lol

Going through your antecedents on this platform, you are not worthy of my attention. You are so controversial and full of negativity. Please house, I need your advice. I filled Lagos US embassy in my DS -160 but when looking for interview appointment, I only got Abuja consulate as there is no available date in Lagos so I picked Abuja. The interview is this week. Hope there won't be any issue raised by the consular officer on why I have Lagos on my DS-160 but come for interview in Abuja?

I think you may need to fill a new DS 160 form and pick Abuja as your place of interview. Then call the embassy to update your new DS 160 number and a new appointment confirmation will be sent to you.(do that as soon as possible).

I don't think anyone here has the answer to this question. If you still feel there's a need to travel to the US then go ahead book another appointment.

I'm happy to have an intellectual discuss about the merits and demerits of our opinions. I do agree that tourism is a big part of global GDP but we are at a critical point of the pandemic where a little bit more patience will do us a lot more good. A lot of countries are still under some form of lockdown or the other, UK especially. Restaurants, museums, malls, concerts etc are either closed or under capacity restrictions as low as 25% such that you need reservations weeks in advance to even get in. In addition, most if not all of these countries are requiring quarantine on arrival. These are not exactly ideal conditions for tourism. My opinion is that folks should wait until they can get vaccinated before venturing out on cross border travel to mitigate the risks involved. In a few months, the US will have vaccination available to all those who want it and it should be available in Nigerian too. Having said that, think of this. If you know that someone else's perfectly legal action can potentially result in deadly harm to your person, up to and including death, wouldn't the justification for that persons action be trivial to you no matter what it is? This is the perspective from which my position stands.

Your point of view stands valid and well presented,in fact it has never been disputed. U will honestly agree with me that there is a hug discrepancies between your point of view and the stupid mumu who commented "Nigerians sha". Having said the above, people will definitely want to travel for different genuine reasons that may not wait. Authorities would have thought it through before they came up with travel exemptions because there will always be a reason for crossing border travelling.

Hello, his there no transcript about visa interview on this forum. Coz have not see anyone that post any transcript here except the student's visa forum.

I think that's because interviews aren't back to the previous level for B1/B2.
Increased appointments were made for intending students looking at March Resumption Season, hence the increased transcript in the student visa forum.
