On a normal day the embassy is so slow and can be tedious, now you added covid wahala of multiple lockdown since early 2020..... so Nigeria High Commission are saying plenty backlog dey. Till answering people from April 2020 so when will they catch up. ... only God knows.

My husband applied immediately lockdown ended sept or so. He hasn't heard back regarding appointment date so for many its a waiting game

I received my provisional driving licence less than 2 weeks after application around mid-December 2020. My elder brother got his ILR application approved less than 2 months after applying also in mid-December 2020. I got my COS for tier-2 renewal sent to me following an application from my sponsor in less than 2 days.

The system is adapting as the situation unfolds. Also, the times I called their phone line, I did not wait for more than 5 minutes.

However, the Nigerian High Commission is still closed with the back-log growing massively. No innovation to attend to customers. They cannot even answer their phones and respond to email messages. Now, I'm hearing one might need to pay extra to get an earlier date.

The basic can not even be accomplished. This is so so annoying. Who did this to us?

1. We let tribal, ethnic and religious sentiments to becloud our judgment.
2. We vote in nincompoops into power as a result of (1) above.
3. We flatly refuse to be involved and engaged in policy making (by not participating in politics).

He got another offer with another Employer and he's applying for another visa. The new employer provided COS that will cover us as well. Do we need to apply for visas together with him? I have heard people paying £100-£200 to get closer date or same day appt. Also, if u have a connect from the inside they can help you get in.

Now to your question.

Look at your BRP carefully, you will see that the end date was made to coincide exactly with the Main Applicant’s end date.

If (God forbid) the sponsor had withdrawn their CoS, and the main applicant hasn’t got another job, it means both main applicant and dependants would have their BRPs curtailed.

As a dependant, your Permit is dependant on the main applicant whose permit is dependant on the Sponsor.

Short answer: Yes. You will ALL need to apply for new visas.

This is true, from Monday 15th February all international flight passengers especially from the red zones will be taken straight from the airports to a hotel to isolate for 10 days at a cost of £1, 750. If you are visiting that’s most of your shopping money gone.

Does not hold again. As long as main applicant is in-status (valid employment with visa) old dependants visas remain valid till validity expires (then they can switch to whatever visa main applicant currently holds).
