A friend of mine was in a situation where it seemed he had committed suicide out of pain and frustration. guess what, everyone that knew him started calling themselves about the situation and it seemed like the whole world was interested in his pain all of a sudden. they finally found him and realized he didn't die and suddenly everyone just left like they were disappointed that he didn't die so they can mourn and make posts about his death. now he didn't die, no single person cares anymore but if he had died everyone would be saying how much they loved him and "why did you do this". even his family turned their back on him now and hes back to the same depression while everyone has moved on since there's no drama to entertain them.

God is the only person that truly cares, humans want to mourn you , its entertainment to them..your pain doesn't mean anything till you're dead and then everyone starts talking about you.

till I die I don't know how I can ever love anyone again or trust anyone..I only trust God now. the price I will pay us loneliness but its worth it.

Mourning reminds us that we too will die one day. So people indirectly go for burial and mourn because they want to imagine how their own dead days will be like.

Humans are very difficult.when it comes to extending hands.i was somewhere years ago.a man was so sick.his neighbours never cared.even when the wife met them for help financially.but,when he died,it was same broke that brought out money and took his body to the mortuary.contributed over a hundred thousand and went for the man's burial.

ALWAYS REMEMBER THESE NOBODY CARES.
YOU CAME ALONE AND YOU WILL GO ALONE. DO ALL YOU CAN TO SURVIVE WITHOUT STEALING.

It's easy for people to raise money for coffin, cows, crates of beer, bags of foodstuff, dress to mourn one's death than to raise money for one's debts, tution fee, hospital bills or business capital.

My dear it's the Nigerian system, many people have lived to regret the little helps they rendered to people in the past, many Nigerians take help as an entitlement when you give it to them and will go as far as insulting you the moment you choose to withdraw it.

I remembered an experience I had that just made me cut off from trying to help people.

The incident happened in 2019, there's this child whom I was so fond of in the flat where I stay she was just 5 at that time. So one day I didn't go to work, I saw her on the balcony (they stay on the 2nd floor while I stay on the 1st floor) I asked her what she's doing at home but I couldn't make any sense from the reply she gave to me so I climbed to their floor and pressed the bell, her dad answered and I asked him why my baby is at home during school hours, he simply told me that she was sent home because she hasn't paid her school fees.

I was touched and asked him how much her fees was, fortunately it was lower than what I estimated, so I made a transfer to his account and told him to take her to school. He thanked me and I left.

The following term, the same incident happened, this time he came directly to me and told me that her fees is due, I just stared at him like, what's my own?

He then told me that so I'll be here and his child wouldn't go to school, I was just pissed off and reminded him that his child's fees is his responsibility not mine. Do you know that after that encounter, this silly man and his lazy wife stopped replying my greetings, even told the child to stop coming to my flat. I just ignored them and learnt my lesson.

Many Nigerians take advantage of little helps you give to them, that's why so many people just prefer to cut off and act like they don't care. It's not that they don't care, they do but the consequences of their kindness is what most can't deal with hence their withdrawal attitude.

Sorry about your friend, rather than blaming his friends and family members, you can show him care and support by lending your shoulder for him to lean on pending when he'll get back on his feet. Help him the little way you feel you can.

Country hard abeg, not everyone is willing to carry the burden of another person who might not be greatful to you for your efforts like the poster above me rightfully pointed out.

That's because most people see each other as competitors , if they help you , you will make money more than them . So they prefer the person dies so they can say in there mind that the competition is over , while they shade fake tears and praises the dead person on how a nicece person He was when alive

I can see that the average black man is self centered, selfish and wicked, he doesn't care about others but himself, that's why Africa and Africans are so backward. This I have seen.
