Pls can this be done for an 18 year old going for undergraduate?

Can a friend send money to my mother’s account lump sum so I can use it for sponsorship?

Will the visa people ask for 6 months bank statement? Cus if they do they will see that she doesn’t have money in her account except the lump sum sent?
Pls help

Hello Bebe123,

I really don't think a Deed of Gift is the best approach for an applicant as young as 18 in lieu, the funds can be referenced to property sales, loan repayment etc.

It is difficult and not certain to say what the VO may likely request for, especially when it concerns POF.

If your mom isn't financially buoyant or have up to about 5m readily available, she can act as a cosponsor and her friend can as well pass as your auntie if there will be documents at your disposal to back the claims.

Since, your level of study is UG, you will be needing more convincing to do in regards to your POF because UG study level can be financially demanding. It will make so much sense to offset the first year tuition and have your LE readily available.

In the light of the financial situation of your mom, you can opt to use a close family member as your sole sponsor if the person can reliably demonstrate financial commitment toward your oversea study.

Best of Luck

You can apply to any school of your choice, ensure you look through the requirements and be sure to meet it, you should not have any issue with study permit....all of the processes are done in stages.
First apply to a school, and get admitted.
Secondly, use the LOA to begin your study permit processing... get the needed documents, submit them and continue your processing till you get approval.

Don't forget the place of prayer, it will end in praise.

My dear friend is in this shoe. She has sent numerous emails and webforms and the last response was that her application is still in process and they will notify her when they make a decision on her application. She doesn't know the way to go anymore. Just waiting it out now.

Hi good morning, it seems like pple that didn't submit NSE documents might not get a decision easily . Hv applied since October 2020 and I didn submit NSE, followed the normal route, till date hv not gotten a decision.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Baphil: 11:18am On Feb 18, 2021
Not to worry; when you start your application, you will answer some questions that will naturally generate a checklist of the application forms and other documents to submit.

All the best!

House, how can i get the study permit application forms ? will i get them when i start the application ?

Hello house
Please I need advice on what to do

My timeline (applies with my 1 year old baby
Applied : 20th October 2020
Biometrics Request: 21st October 2020
Biometrics completed: 27th October 2020
Request letter (IELTS) : 25th November 2020
Submitted: 24th December 2020
Upfront Medical : 6th January 2021 ( not yet updated)
Request letter (First bank statement of account and what’s funny is that I used Acess bank and not first bank ,was thinking they saw my first bank account ): 2nd February 2021
Submitted: 3rd February 20201 I submitted the first bank and also Acess bank for 1 year

Firstly I was suppose to resume for BSc by January but I cnt due to the delay and I have paid $10k as tuition deposit to the school but when i requested for deferment they didn’t reply instead they sent back $5k cad saying Cs i didn’t register for class tho I have requested for full refund Cs I have other admission offer with university of Regina that has may class.

My point is , should I mail and tell them that I want to change school or I should leave them to finish their work first.

Hello Adeola317,

I don't know if the statement is to the DLI or IRCC. If it's the former, don't use that as an excuse. You can use something relating to a change in your family or financial situation.

If it concerns IRCC, hold on. BTW, what is the given reason by the DLI for withholding the other 5k?

Best of Luck

What exactly does this mean "Dear applicant this is to inform you that your health case has been submitted to IRCC"

Hello Anungangampu,

If the message is coming from the hospital you undergo your medicals, it means that the panel physician has forwarded your medical report to IRCC.

I will advise you to exercise some patience until you get your offer letter, then you can move on to the next stage of study permit application where the medical report is very necessary.

Hello house... As regards my proof of funds, my mum was able to secure 30k CAD to put in my account which is very sufficient for my tuition plus expenses for a year. She also would be supporting it with a gift letter, being that i haven't had that much deposit in my account. Would also be keeping it there for 6 months.

Is my account statement with this amount alone sufficient, cause she had to drain her account for this.

Also as regards ties in Nigeria, she also made a gift letter of transfer as regards one of her housings properties. She had a health issue last year she is recovering from. Should i also put that as ties to my country, supporting it with medical reports?

I have cousins working in canada professionally. Would they serve as ties in canada, and should i include them?

I also have a letter from the company i work for (a professional one in line with my course of study) promising employment upon completion of study.

Would these be sufficient for proof of funds and ties back home and in canada. Thanks.

Cc : OtunbaTee JustMellow Lekiboboe

YOU DON'T NEED TIES IN CANADA, "they want you to come back to your home country after studying"(in quote) so your home tie should be very strong. Leave your siblings in Canada out of your application, it worked against me in my first application so had to remove it in my LOE in the 2nd application. Let the money be your mums account as lump sum towards SP application is a concern for the VO. like let your mum write a letter of support that the money would be made available for your trip and this is the total amount shes dropping ( 1st year fees plus living expenses)

Good morning everyone. Submitted my application Jan 31st, just got my NSE request. They only asked for my bank statement since I already submitted my ielts. My question is, my funds are in stanbic mutual funds investment and they do not have mybankstatement for it. Pls how do I go about this? Plus the request letter stated a link where i can obtain mybankstatement. I'm a little bit confused. Please if you have used mutual funds or fixed deposits, how did u got about submitting this as NSE
Are you self sponsoring or you have a sponsor? .let your sponsor submit his/her bank statement ie MBS plus the mutual funds Certificate, stating that the money was kept there for the travel purpose...same thing I did though

House. I just read this few minutes ago. I don't think a police clearance certificate is required for a study permit application. With the information below, i am not applying for a PR and i am not declaring any criminal record. Who also shares my view?

Police certificate and IRCC requirements

You must provide a police character certificate when you apply for permanent residence in Canada.

You will also be requested to provide a police certificate to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) if you declared a criminal record on your application for an electronic travel authorization, work permit or study permit.
YES you dont need police report for SP, only for PR application

Okay bro..but pls, incase of that study leave, can someone use only payment voucher as proof of payment of salaries or u have to show bank statement for salary? why I asked is we were paid in cash for monthly salaries and our salaries ain't that regular too..it's a private school organization.

To make things clear, I did educational management during my degree days in which I graduated Dec 2017 and I did my nysc October 2018 and finished October 2019..so..I applied for Post graduate certificate in Human resources management..now I'm still on my SOP..it's the home ties of a thing that is giving me little issue for now

Hello Olayibo1,

If you receive salary by cash, get your employer to issue you a "Salary Cash Certificate" using the letterhead paper of your employer.

Pls as I am preparing to apply for my study permit, I am traveling with my Husband and son, so how do I apply, pls I need to be guided, is the application going to be together as a family, pls candid responses Gurus, I heartily appreciate you all. Cheap schools, schools easier to get admission without IELTS will be preferable.

Kindly Advise.
Msc preferable.

Hello Kolizomanizo,

Almsot all schools in Canada exempt students whose prior education was conducted in English or whose country's official language is in English.

The first thing to consider before putting in a family application is your financial strength/sufficiency and Home ties. If you're convinced that these areas are adequately sufficient, then you can go ahead with the famiky application otherwise, you may want to reconsider by putting in a sole application.

To be adequately guided, take out time to go through this recent or past thread, every answer you seek lies therein. If after this, there are still gray areas, then you can ask specific query.

For Schools; start your search from Memorial University, Simon Fraser University, Thomas Rivers University, Alberta University, University of Manitoba et al.

There are colleges too; Lambton, Assiniboine, Seneca, Humber, Conestoga, NBCC, NSCC et all

Ensure to go for a program that demonstrates study progression, which either relates to your previous study (if no long study gap) or work experience.

Best of Luck

Good day everyone, so I just checked my profile and saw that I’ve been denied the study permit on the basis of the VO not been convinced or whatever that I will return to my country after study. I intend or appealing the case or reapplying depending on what I see after my GCMS notes. Still trying to process the hurt but it is well.
Now my only problem is that I booked for medicals UPfront with Qlife thinking the next stage was going to be medical request. But oh well, so now my confusion is do I still go ahead to do the medicals as my application has been denied or do I ask for a refund from Qlife given the situation on ground.
I’m sincerely confused pls Gurus in the house I will appreciate if you can provide answers. Thank you in anticipation. Never thought I will see myself I this situation

Besides, i don't think HIV is an issue but TB is an issue.

In addition: They can both sometimes be an issue if it hasn't been properly managed and if the financial requirements to meet healthcare exceed 20k or outweighs the applicants financial capability.

Very feasible, but it works well if it comes directly from a close family member especially parents.

Have you paid

I am aware that for Qlife you pay in their premises before you start.

That said, if you have paid, contact Qlife first if they will do a refund. I guess their response will guide you.

Then I will also say that if you are sure you will reapply soon, then by all means go ahead and do the test. It just means your next application will be a step ahead. You won’t need to be waiting for medicals.

hi guys so I applied for visa since march 2020 till now I still haven't gotten any response just my passport and it wasn't stamped and yes I requested for a web form and also sent mails a couple of times but still nothing. I feel it's taking too long and my admission is on the line here. I deferred my admission but the end date is already close and am yet to receive my visa. Any suggestion?

Hello Krissy01,

I want to believe this was a Paper-based application. If you received you passport back without the vignette affixed to it, then I think your application didn't scale through. I may be wrong though.

If you linked your application to online, you can easily to see what's currently reflecting on your dashboard.

The best advise will be for you to swiftly request for your notes while you work ahead to defer again.
