Hello house , trust you are doing great Pls I need a clear guide on this PTA thing & going with Cash (money) to Canada Tuition is paid already, so it's the $10,000 CAD proof of Living Expenses that is left now. My questions goes thus, - How can someone go with $10, 000 CAD to Canada? - I do hear of $4,000 PTA is it $4,000 USD or $4,000 CAD? - If its $4,000 CAD, Should I open a MasterCard domiciliary account and keep the remaining $6,000 CAD (in USD) there? If I get to Canada, can i withdraw money in USD with my MasterCard then change it to CANADIAN DOLLAR? Can someone go to Canada with more than $10,000CAD e.g $10,500 CAD or $11,000 CAD? Any further information about this will be appreciated Thanks cc. Frankrobbn1, JustMellow and all honorables |

MsJanez01: Given that the entire funds for your study visa application are presently being held in Stanbic Mutual Funds investment, you have to advice the immigration officer in writing that there is no available mybank statement certificate platform for customers with investments at Stanbic IBTC bank. Consequently, provide the mutual funds certificate and a cover letter from the bank confirming that funds are readily accessible by you and unencumbered by debts or other obligations. Lekiboboe: It is 4,000 USD When you get to Canada, when withdrawing at an atm, the money will dispense in the local currency of the country (in this case CAD). The equivalent in USD will be deducted from you account. 2 Likes |

tallCoder02: Hello TallCoder02, Small congratulations on securing your admission. On a clear note, using a friend as sponsor drastically reduces visa chances though not impossible. There are lots of thoughts that will go into it during application scrutinization. Some may decide to be dishonest by showing off the Friend as an Uncle with the hopes of getting documents that can connect their relationship. If tangible proof and strong convincing reason can be given as to why a friend will want to sponsor a non-family member for an expensive study, with good financial commitment demonstrated, then you may go ahead if no other option. Get to know that, it's a gamble. Best of Luck |

PotentialNurse:Thanks so much . Noted I just checked the rate of $4000 USD in CAD , and it was $5,000 CAD Are you saying I won't/don't need to take the $4000 USD with me from Nigeria (in Cash) , that I can withdraw the $4000 USD when I get to Canada in CAD? - Let me assume I was able to go to Canada with the $4,000 USD, do I need a Statement of Account of that Domiciliary Account showing I have $4000 USD ($5,000 CAD) in my account to show my Proof of Funds at the PORT OF ENTRY? 1 Like |

totee1999: I would advice you allow your application be considered through the regular channel. This is because transferring the money you borrowed from your parents back to your account will be perceived by the visa officer that you don't have the financial resources to cover for your planned studies in Canada without working to pay for your tuition and living expenses. Moreover, its also seen that you're trying to cheat the immigration system of Canada, thereby leading to refusal. It will end in praise 3 Likes |

Emy31: "Not Applicable" implies that the immigration officer do not require further information/documents at this time. Your application is currently being processed and in queue for final review. It will end in praise |

LJF11: Are you serious with this suggestion? He should transfer the money back and explain what to the immigration? Its very obvious the money was borrowed from his parents and depositing it back into his account is totally a red flag. Canadian immigration officer's are very smart and can quickly grasp any irregularities. I will agree that no one expects you to hoard your money when there are financial opportunities to pursue. However, this is not applicable to the op current financial status. It will end in praise. 5 Likes |

I just got an admission to Trent University for a masters degree for Fall 2021. I applied to Ryerson university but I’m yet to get an admission decision. Being that Ryerson university is more ranked than Trent, should I wait for Ryerson? Or I should proceed with Trent. I have previously begun document gathering for Visa Application. |

Lekiboboe: I am not really sure of port of entry dealings but I think you can go along with the $4000 in cash and have the remaining deficit in your bank account then print the BS to show at the port of entry. Consult with others who have gone through that process, especially recently. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by LJF11: 12:16pm On Feb 19, 2021 |
Frankrobbn1: We can't work on assumptions, he said he is self sponsored which means the money is his, sending the money anywhere is his sole discretion as far he can explain his intentions, people remove their money and put it back, he could put it back in batches but hoping for them to continue with the regular processing might flag that he is not genuine, they could request for an updated statement of account later, what I am merely suggesting is that he should be proactive, send the money in and write IELTS and go through the NSE route or explain why you won't be able to send it than just disregarding it, he just needs to pray and makes his final decision. 1 Like |

maestro09: A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush... Personally, I will recommend you proceed with the Trent University for your visa application. Hopefully when you secure your visa and you choose not to continue with the Trent, you may seek for a refund of your tuition and transfer to Ryerson University. It will end in praise |
