What did Northeastern do to you? Lol
I’ve taken a few courses there and it’s a pretty decent school IMO among all the other too tier schools in my current state.

Hello fam and congratulations to all those that have gotten their visas. Grad sch has been a whole lot for me but all I see now is the light at the end of the tunnel as I will be graduating in May.

As a prospective international student, you need to know some things and prepare yourself. The job market is extremely competitive over here. This was how I landed an internship in my last semester of Grad school after hundreds of applications since I started my masters program. An internship makes it easy to secure a full time job upon graduation.

He can but it might look fishy to the VO, even though he will sponsor you try looking for a close relative in Nigeria for a good bank statement

Good evening all,

Please, I have a concern. Got a PhD with funding. The COA is $38k. When I received my I-20, assistantship was given as $38k. But, my department is writing $31k for assistantship in the letter of Sponsorship.

Please, how do I rectify this?

Can I use the two docs with different figures for Visa Application? Will it be a problem?

Please, help me out here.
@fairheart and other gurus in the house, I need your assistance on what to do.

NB. I have contacted my dept. But, I don't really understand what they are saying.
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by kastgeraldino: 10:40pm On Feb 19, 2021
The difference of 7K is quite material. And the one on the sponsorship letter does not even cover the total cost. Anyways, the figure on the I-20 should supersede the department's letter of sponsorship but you can confirm. I have a somewhat similar situation but both exceed the cost of attendance so I'm not even bothering to rectify anything. For me, annual cost is $75K, I-20 funding is $80K per annum and sponsorship letter is about $77K. This is for business school. And VOs usually focus on I-20 as far as I remember.

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Denuga91: 2:23am On Feb 20, 2021
My interview is about 5weeks times.
Here is my proposed transcript.
Funding: Kill.
VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning sir
VO: Where are you going to in the US.
ME: I'm going to Illinois. State University for my Masters degree in Hydrogeology.
VO: Why Hydrogeology?
ME: I'm a Geoscientist, currently working on Radon Concentration in Groundwater. Hydrogeology will expose me to latest scientific techniques in groundwater treatment like Aeration treatment and Granulated Activated Carbon Treatment, so as to make groundwater safe for domestic, commercial and industry use, especially in bottling companies like Nigerian breweries, coca-cola and host of others.
VO: Why did you chose Illinois State University?
ME: Like I said earlier, I'm working on a research project-Radom concentration in groundwater, I went online to look out for Profs currently working on this project, I met with Dr Peterson I emailed him telling him I'm keen working with him and he encouraged me to apply. Aside from that, Looking at all the schools I applied to, it is only Illinois state university that has public lab designated exclusively for the purpose of research in Radon Conc in ground water.
VO: What will this program do for you?
ME: This program will no doubt improve the quality of my research work when I'm back to Nigeria, especially in areas like Geochemical composition of Radon in groundwater and the geospatial distribution of groundwater in Basement complex environment like Ibadan.
I also want to kick start my career in having my own groundwater treatment plant, I'm looking at partnering with bottling companies like Nigeria Breweries to treat their water before undergoing production.
VO: Who is Sponsoring you?
ME: My Uncle
V.O what does he do?
ME: He is a cyber security officer at XYZ company in Chicago.
V.O: I'll be approving your visa..

Experts in the house, please help me review my transcript. E dakun
