Hello Everyone, Please kindly advice. My friend submitted her application last week and later noticed that IELTS is now being asked for in recent times. Based on this, she has a few questions. 1. Hope submission of IELTS general test written in Nov 2019 not mean dual intent? 2, While filling the form, there was a section where they asked if an applicant's English Language skills have been evaluated by an English Language examination body? She answered NO. 3. Hope her response of NO to question 2 above not affect her application if she finally submits IELTS general done in Nov 2019? Dear @Lekkiboboe, @Frankrobbn1, @JustMellow, @Rootiab and other gurus in the house, please respond to these questions. Thank you so much |

Izusteph4:While you await your GCMS notes, From what you stated here, I don't know if Social Work is Related Human Resources Management and even if it does, it's very likely you didn't tailor your Social Work degree with your intended program (HRM) in your SOP. Possible solution is this 1) The possible connection of Social Work & HRM is this Social work administrators are proactive leaders in public and private agencies that provide services to clients. Many elements of this area of social work practice are common to administration in other organizations. However, administration and management also require knowledge about social policy and the delivery of social services, vision for future planning, an understanding of human behavior, and commitment to social work ethics and values 2)This no. 2 seems like your best shot, With your SOCIAL WORK degree, it's expected of you to go for a related PG. Program E.g - Addiction & Mental Health - Community and Social Services Management - Community Disorder Assistant etc. Do a google search on more programs that is related to Social Work , then look for colleges that's are offering them in Canada 3) About Work Experience, Your NYSC is a Work Experience even though there is 85% chance the work you did during your service year is not in any way related to your field of study. Despite that, you still have to talk about it. e.g where you were posted to, job duties etc. and show documents of your NYSC one year work experience E.g - Call-Up Letter - NYSC Posting letter (Showing you were accepted) - NYSC ID card - Recommendation letter from my PPA (Place of Primary Assignment) - IF AVAILABLE - Pictures of you at your PPA - Discharge Certificate You would also explain how NYSC is mandatory program for Nigerian graduates in which they are posted to states other than their state of origin where they are expected to mix with people from different ethnic groups, social and family backgrounds, and learn the culture of the indigenes in the location and they are posted to. You would explain the work (Job duties) you did in your PPA aswell Do await more inputs and suggestions from other members in house 4 Likes 1 Share |

Lekiboboe: Yea No1 is the reason I wanted HRM cos I wanted to study Economics but you know Nigeria university and how it goes Based on NYSC I was posted in a secondary school in the north... though I can make relationships with social work and my NYSC work description And about No2 I don’t want it cos I don’t like the courses entirely but if it will work best for me then I wouldn’t mind. But doing what I know best, HRM is something that can go. Meanwhile I am reading through the link you shared. Also Wouldn’t getting a new admission affect my application even if I have to go for No2 |

Jojo257: You can submit the passport with three (3) years validity with your application. The Immigration officer will issue you a visa that will last until the duration of your passport. You can always renew your passport at the Nigerian Consulate in Ottawa and extend your study permit. Please do not renew your passport at this time. It will end in praise 2 Likes |
