First of all , I am from Idenmili north and a member of many Anambra groups, therefore I would know the sentiments of my people and the way Anambra dialects have transformed to the common form we use across the state.

Additionally, what you know as Onicha tone spoken in Onicha metropolis, Idenmili , and Awka are a naturally developed form of speech. It wasn't manufactured or forced through Igbo unity blackmail.

The union Igbo/Igbo Onicha which was previously in used in the 1930s and 1940s were a combination of Onicha axis dialects and even Enuani. That were Idenmili, Dunukofia, Anaocha, Onicha, Ogbaru , Nnewi, Njikoka, Ekwusigo and the rest of Anambra lects fall into.
Like I said earlier almost all anambra communities now speak similar dialect but calling it Onitsha dialect to elevate Onitsha above others will cause serious commotion. That is the Anambra State.
Infact the Original Onitsha dialect not what the whole of Anambra state speak now call God Oseburuwa.
What they speak in Anambra state now can be called anambra dialect if you still want peace to reign.

From the looks of things, we Ijaws had been the first tribe to officially reject Nigeria, I think amongst the three major tribes, the Igbos had been fair enough.

Igbos Eastern Region Cited the Refinery in PH, a city that would have served all most tribes of Niger Delta, Igbos had been in the forefront of Nigeria independence, so it could have been fair that Capital of Eastern region be in Enugu or Igboland, all the three major tribes had their regions capital in their major cities so why do we expect that the capital of the East will not be in Igboland...

Most people think it is the destiny of the Ijaws to see the Igbos as rivals, well I may not see them as brothers but they are our good neighbours, if Igbos wanted they could have used our oil as bargaining chip during the war but they did not go that part, from the look of things, Igbos listen more than the three major tribes, within the whole declaration, Adakar borrow lived when Igbos was in charge but few moments of romance with non eastern tribes and he disappeared, even our oil wells are not hijacked by the Igbos.

The Bayelsa where I live, there are more Igbos in Lagos than in Bayelsa, so let's bare our mind, what is our beef with the Igbos, if Nigeria divides, Biafra will also divide and Niger Delta will most likely also divide so at the end we will be left with our old neighbours the Igbos as tribal neighbours so what's our real beef with the Igbos.

I doubt you are Ijaw! If you are you would know that our fathers like Harold Dappa Biriye ( from Bonny in Rivers state) and Melford Okilo ( from Ogbia in Bayelsa state) were at the forefront in the battle to end Igbo political and economic domination in the now defunct eastern region. They tried through political means but it did not work. That was what motivated Boro to declare independence when an Igbo was head of state and another Igbo was governor of the now defunct eastern region.

The Igbo negotiated with Ijaw oil assets. They had a deal with France on that. It is no coincidence all of their major backers had strong French ties. Ivory coast, Gabon, Haiti etc.

The primary reason Ojukwu declared Biafra was because he lost control of Ijaw oil assets. He believed he could regain those assets for the Igbo through a war.

We all have internal strifes like everyone does in a typical extended family settings. It does not take away our spirit of togetherness on the national scale. In our politics the motto is: "all for one, one for all". The South-South by interpretation as the Niger Delta Region is formidable as such.

There is no family setting in SS. IGBOS who are the largest tribe in SS dey, Efiks dey and efiks no get any relationship with ijaw, urhobo or Bini, Same way Bini has no family connection with Ibibio and Annang and Oron. Stop lumping everyone's together by force

From my observation :

Okrika is mixed.

Opobo is mixed...(mostly igbos).

Bonny is mixed...(mostly igbos).

We are NOT mixed, we are IJAW!
I wonder why it is difficult for that to sink into your skulls.

There's a post where someone said what is spoken across various Anambra communities are similar yet distinct. This is the truth. The "general" Igbo spoken across is not Onicha dialect, though it may be close. No matter how much one speaks this "general" Igbo, one with a keen ear can still pinpoint where you're from.

Again, any move to supposedly impose one particular dialect, no matter how sweet it is on the tongue will be resisted. The indigenous dialects across the state, from Onicha to Awka to Nnewi and interior areas remain sacrosanct to the people, traditionally and otherwise.

As for Anioma their absorption will be the easiest. Infact they are the ones calling for it.
Ikwerre doesn't outnumber Ijaws. They don't even come close. Ikwerre will have no choice but accept the absorption because their eyes will be set on still having a claim to the city of PH

There is no way any Anioma clan will be discussing about being absorbed by binis, pls this is a stupid talk, delete it.

Ijaws are sparsely populated in nigeria. Even Bayelsa which represent the largest ijaw block numbers 1.6 million and Hundreds of thousands of them are Isoko and urhobo communities. So if ijaw is less than 2 million in nigeria, how can they absorb Rivers state igbos who are more than 4 million?

Ikwerre owns Porthacourt city, This isn't being argued anywhere

Azimini is 25 nautical miles away from the Atlantic, Its closer to the atlantic than any seaport in nigeria...estimate its depth

A ship doing 50 nauts will get to the Atlantic ocean in 30 minutes from Azimini

Is any part of Igboland on the Sea Coast?

Just asking

I'm not talking about Biafra, I don't want to be part of Biafra, but I want Igbos as friends and Allies of the Ijaw Nation, I would have loved Niger Delta Republic but if you exclude Igbos from Niger Delta then the map is crazy, Akwa/Cross is closer to the Igbos than they can ever be to the rest of the Niger Delta, that's my concern, If Akwa/Cross is in Niger Delta Republic, Igbo influences in the republic will be massive, they have same agenda with Igbos.

Ijaw nation is large enough to be on her own. Should Nigeria divide that remains the most preferred option for us.

There would be nothing "crazy" about the map. Ijawland covers much of the coast from Arogbo in Ondo to Andoni in Akwa Ibom and Rivers.

Nnewi is not in Anambra North but South.
Nri-Awka doesn't have the same dialect with Onitsha. Awka to some extent share the same words with Ezeagu and other Enugu communities.
Just leave this the way it is. All Anambra communities even speak alike but bringing the name of one community to oversee others will make everybody change his mind.
I know my people.
Especially Nnewi can never bow to Onitsha. Even Oba and Obosi that is included in Onitsha metropolis have issues with it

*sigh*

Of course , Nnewi is in Anambra central. I can't you see I know Anambra very well.

Listen to Ajofia Nnewi and tell me whether they sing like Ndi Anambra or Imo. Nnewi is Anambraic, kponkwem!

Give up , please.

You've said it all. Infact what is spoken in Enu Onitsha is not actually Onitsha dialect. It a dialect formed out of cohabitation of various Igbo groups over the years. It is very different from the original Onitsha dialect and the indigenes will tell you so. It is even modernizing every year. Like recently they included de je, something that is peculiar to Nsukka dialect.
In summary anybody that can understand the new dialect they speak in Igbo cities like Onitsha or the entire Anambra State because there is a way we are interwoven unlike others can understand any kind of dialect in Igboland.
The best is to leave it like that. Don't tag a name to it so as not to bring resistance and allow nature take over

Ikwerre don't own Port Harcourt. They don't feature anywhere in the history of Port Harcourt. Their claim to Port Harcourt was made possible by Ijaw people. The treaty on Port Harcourt with Britain was between Ijaw people and Britain. Ijaw people also recieved more compensation than the Ikwerre.

The largest Ijaw clan is in Rivers. The thing with you Igbo fools is that you talk down Ijaw population thinking it will benefit you, when it matters it is the North or Yoruba your greed, shortsighted attitude and foolishness will benefit. Close to half of the LGAs in Rivers state are Ijaw.
