Did the Amachree dynasty start existing after 1970 that Asari would have had to change his name because of "abandoned properties"? Abandoned for who and by who? Is it in Andoni,Okrika, Okuru,Opobo, Bille,Bolo, Bonny or Buguma, etc you had abandoned properties? 1 Like |

Logan23: The name Jaja is Ijaw, the word Opobo is Ijaw, the people who left Bonny for Opobo were Ijaw, the land was given to the people known as Opobo people today by another Ijaw clan. As civilised people, different Ijaw city states were involved in the process that led to the establishment of Opobo. I don't owe you an explanation. That Igbo lacked a governance system doesn't mean in Ijawland people could sleep, wake up and do whatever they like. We have an operational legal system , Opobo didn't come from thin air. |

PHijo:You daft revisionist, every historical and documented facts have proven Jaja was an Igbo born and bred in Umuduruoha , in Amaigbo right in the heart of old Orlu division. Even the more credible British database available online about his biography have these facts on file. So where in your useless Ijaw village was Jaja born? name the village! abi shouldn't the most influential man in Ijaws entire history have a birthplace if he was truly Ijaw? Oko Jumbo, King Jaja were Igbos with countless proof of their birthplace very well documented. Your proclivity for shameless distortions of sacrosanct history is truly revolting to say the least. 5 Likes

ogbuefieze: Jaja was not an Igbo chief neither did he live Igboland for Opobo. All historical records prove that he was an Ijaw chief who enslaved Igbos and latter got involved in the oil palm trade. He had issues with British traders not as an Igbo but as an Ijaw chief and later as an Ijaw king. There were several Ijaw kings and nobles that were well known before Jaja's birth and rise to prominence. Jaja is part of our not too distant past. Except for Igbo revisionist history every other history says the date and his place of birth is not known. The Igbo are the only ones that take PRIDE in being SLAVES or ENSLAVED! As such Nigerians assume he was Igbo. Older records do not refer to him as an Igbo ex slave. Jaja was not raised as an Igbo man. Before our very eyes Asari Dokubo is being claimed by Igbos as "Uzodinma". Is it Jaja who lived over 150 years ago you wouldn't try to rewrite history in a bid to to lay claims? 1 Like |

valirex:The British invading force crushed and plundered Benin forces and artifacts in just a matter of days, Ovonramwen Nogbaisi fled into exile in Calabar after the fall of Benin so where did he amass the fighting power to prosecute a guerilla war for 2 years? the Aros fought for British for way longer but the only recorded part of the conflict was from 1901-02 when slave trade was been threatened and the long juju of Aro (Ubini Ukpabi) which was reputed to be the most feared epicenter of slave routes/trades was finally discovered by the British did they then send a large expeditionary force to destroy it. After the fall of the Aro confederacy, there were still organized and fierce resistance that continued until about 1908... Also note that the bulk of the leaders and men that formed the Ekumeku secret society that resisted the British from 1883-1914 came from Aro (Arondizuogu) in the western Igbo axis. 3 Likes |
